They were under a bed. Maeve boggled at this, for a moment, compulsively glancing back--the door had vanished--before crawling out from under the frame. Argo was quicker, darting away, changingshiftinggrowing, and he wasn’t a Rabbit at all, was he. Maeve couldn’t bring herself to be honestly surprised, though it was…startling.
“I’m not sure,” Maeve muttered in response to Shelby’s question, gaze fixed in the direction Argo had gone. It sounded like trouble, and Argo seemed to know part of the equation: Zach, whoever that was. What of the other side? Argo was dangerous, but at least they knew--mostly--how to deal with him. The rest were unknowns, and they could be just as dangerous, if not worse.
“We go up,” she said after a pause, and cautiously began to navigate the stairs.
It was a battlefield. Blood, and fear, and Cards. Maeve swallowed convulsively, and glanced quickly around for exits. The possibility of escaping notice were horribly slim. And Argo… Maeve glanced away from the gore, lungs shuddering. What had they done to him? She knew better than to intervene, but…White Rabbit.
"Shelby," she whispered, glancing at her companion and back to Argo. Was it worth the risk? The Cards would likely tear them apart...

Shelby nodded, that odd, jerky motion, and followed her up, clutching the letter dagger close in his hand. He only had one good spell, as he wasn't sure he wanted to use the ring's power...would it even work on a Card? It sounded horrible in that room. Something bad was going on...there was yelling and screaming and the sharp tang of blood hit his nose hard, making him want to vomit. Luckily he hadn't eaten in so long it wasn't possible even if he hadn't been a Rabbit.
He peeked hesitantly into the room...and whimpered a bit, feeling dizzy at the sight. It was horrible, but...he actually managed to fight the feeling down because surprisingly...he'd seen worse earlier that same day. That thought was more comforting than it had the right to be, and he felt clarity return and push the panic away. "Yes," he responded to his name, and slowly crept up into the room. They couldn't go back, after all. Forward was the only way. He darted to the wall farthest from where Argo was, though he could no longer recognize the man since he'd changed again.

Davy had, in his panic, pinned himself against the well. the creature was absolutely horrifying, but the creature was also panicked. The gory sight was enough to make his own stomach lurch. Slowly, he got back to his feet, staring at the creature. The strange giraffe was crying over it, obviously upset that it had been so injured. What was one to do?
He moved a bit closer to the group, feeling rather helpless and unsure of how to approach the situation. The creature seemed rather pinned and in an incredible amount of.. pain? Discomfort?
"What we gonna do about it?" Davy asked hesitantly. Were they going to attack it further? It didn't seem right to attack a creature that seemed so helpless. Then again the thing -was- capable of flipping over a bed.
"Okay okay... maybe we can talk somefin' out iffen ya find it a good idea to surrender. Then maybe we won't have ta hurt ye so bad."

Sabe saw that he couldn't have gotten past the creature and had thought through his fevered vision and whit that he was doing the right thing. Though in no why shape or form was he even in the right state of mind. As he tried to get past him he had swung at the creature and to his surprise even hit it. The wolf before him seemed to have disipeared and he faultered for a second, leaving himself a tad too open for anything as he felt the over all pain shoot across his body, instantly dropping him to his knees his beak started to crack from some unknown place and all he could do was crumple into a heap at the floor.
this was it... I'm done... can't take any more... he thought as he gazed about the room and noted the small changes in everyone's doings, hmp... apparently everyone wanted to be friendly with the monster. Let them, things were just confusing enough and he had it about up to his broken beak with it all. He closed his eyes and laid there for a moment, just listening to everything as the pain wrecked across his body.
Suits... this was going to be a long report when he got back, was his fleeting thought as he moved to the wall gripping himself from the pain, trying to keep himself together and not lose himself to the darkness of sleep that his body much needed in his wounded state. After all... there was blood pouring from just about every cut on his body, mostly healed from the bucks care, but these fresh ones hurt.

Wulfram grinned in mad delight when his Mome hit the wolf and began to rip his ear off, delighting in the pleasure of the ability that was currently strangling the Calloo bastard and, somewhere behind him, came a sudden and all too enticing scent of blood. The whole spell welled wonderfully and he momentarily swayed on his feet as his beak cracked into a wider grin.
Everything was suddenly very very nice... Despite all the people fighting.
Momentarily he turned his back on the flailing wolf, not noticing him escaping with his mome just then, as his check on the creature proved that he was... rather harmless at the moment. No intention of attacking, hm?
But they'd already done a number on him. When he suddenly cracked and changed into another bird and then began to claw madly at the now blank wall, Wulf finally realized his Mome was gone. He dropped his ability on Zach and let out a furious noise despite still feeling terribly good.
He practically shook on his feet but the goodness made it hard to stay mad. He slumped and breathed heavily. "Zhe Mo-- Er, Argo. Doesn't intend anyone harm but himself, apparently." He announced to the room before descending into a low chuckle as the walls were painted red before his eyes. Slowly he drew closer, hovering over Argo though he tried to keep some of the usual bite out of his tone. "Argo, do you know vhere zhat door took your brother?"
----
Malachior twitched as everything very suddenly went wrong. The wolf vanished through the door and then... Oh Suits... That was all very unfortunate. The monster turned to wave at the young woman behind him before the Club Queen bashed his fingers straight off his hand. Conall's ability hit soon after and everything rushed very quickly downhill from there.
Looking around the room, with a flailing Joker and the assorted individuals within. Sabe was grievously injured but Wulf and Ez seemed to be working on consoling the monster. Malachior took a slow breath.
"It doesn't seem to be inherently bad. Probably just manipulated. Could you do me a big favor Conall and try to calm the young lady there down? I will try to remove the rest of the children from the room and out into the attic with you while I deal with the injured." He smiled wearily. "Thank you very much." He murmured once the boy agreed and he stepped back into the room proper.
He would approach Gigi, Morgan and Mirriam in turn and ask each of them to quickly step out of the room where it was more peaceful. He would motion to Conall and try his best to convince them to go.
Whether or not they obeyed, he would move on to the adults who appeared in most need of help. It was then that he noticed Lucius was still staring at the place where Zacharias had vanished as if in shock that he'd lost his prey. He was shaking a little.
"Lucius." He snapped and the man spun around to face him with death in his eyes. "You mentioned your venom was potent in numbing others?" The Tulgey's eyes narrowed and he said nothing but the Buck pointed sharply at Argo. "Please do what you can for this Argo individual. If he can get us to his brother, you can finish what you started. Right?"
Lucius's expression slowly relaxed, still looking haughty and quite displeased. He suddenly switched to his human form, brushed back a lock of long white hair, and removed a thick vial from his pocket and chugged it down. He said nothing, refusing to look at anyone as he approached Argo flailing against the wall.
"Sir," he drawled slightly. "If you are in pain I can numb it. But only if you are willing, do you understand?" He wasn't about to touch the thing and have it lash out at him. If it agrees, he will reach out and poke his mangled hands.
Meanwhile, Malachior had continued on and crouched down beside Sabe. "You stupid man," he murmured in a tone that was between concerned and scolding. "Your desire to help others is going to get you killed. Lets see what I can do to help, alright? I'm nearly out of salves, however, so you will have to endure this undoubtedly terrible pain for a while longer." So long as the Heron didn't protest, he would begin to apply salves and, for the larger wounds that he wasn't able to patch with his unique clotting solution he would use shreds from the nearby cot's sheets.
What was left would be used on Argo, if given the chance to do so.

(( Screaming begot nothing. Argo was esily grabbed and hauled away from the wall by Ez, not even bothering to struggle. The creature let out a wail and heaved up the last of the blood from Conall's spell, dropping to the ground and choking for a few seconds before slowly changing back into the mad-looking Jack, his eyes wide and horrified.
Hiccuping a little, it placed a hand on Miriam's shoulder and patted lightly. "Miriaaaaam....they might hurt you...." He mumbled, trying to scoot her to the side and giving a weird little giggle as he pushed himself forward. "Gigi....is not hurt?" He asked, giving her a little smile and then standing wobbly on his legs. His eyes scanned the room and caught sight of Maeve and Shelby. He beamed at them. "My Warren. Um...yes, they are my Warren." His quick glance around at all of the Cards seemed to hit him like a brick. Whipping to his feet with a shout, one of his hands became scaled and grew impossibly long claws. "You...will not touch them..." He muttered, voice higher than it could have been as he stared fixedly at Lucius and the Heron...obviously unnerved. He glanced at Maeve. "You...aren't hurt?" Then up at Shelby. "Or you...no, you're strong." He mumbled, almost to himself, before trying to pat the Leveret who also changed on the shoulder.
The Jack-like monster gave Davy an odd look and shifted closer to Ez and his "Warren" in response. He didn't like the little pink thing, and wished it away. The Crow he had liked before a pproched him and he gave the man a hopeful look that was quickly clouded by the question. "Yyesss?" He responded tentatively, tripping over the suddenly changed teeth. "Yes...that door, um...used to go to...Spades." He muttered, looking at the Crows wings instead of his face. The Serpent approached and he instantly forced himself in front of the other Rabbits, staring at him in distrust. "I...am not hurt...right now." He muttered, wiggling the newly grown fingers. "Step away..." He eyed the group at large and then turned back to Ez, expression beseeching. "I can't get everyone there...but I can get three people there..."))~Nathalia

Ez gave a small sigh of relief when things started going well. Sort of well. Whatever. He watched as Argo changed into something else, a different sort of monster really, and looked down right horrible.
The sparrow blinked and followed the creature's gaze to see... more monsters. His beak curled into a frown. His... warren? What exactly was all of this? He smoothed down his feathers and tried to think straight.
He watches the others take action silent, not making any moves to do anything until he was actually addressed. Adding to the confusion at this point would just make things far worse.
The sparrow's eyes widened at mention of the Court of Spades. Shit that was what he had forgotten about. Zane had mentioned there was trouble there and now--
"Three people?" he repeated quietly. "All right, Argo. Three people. Wulfram needs to go because he's a Court Noble, I would like to go for my brother's sake... and is there anyone else?" He turned to look at the crowd. Great. "And if there are no objects I suppose one of your uh... Warren... mates could come?"
He hoped that Mirriam could handle herself and Gigi. Suits.
---
The giraffe cried. She cried until her name was suddenly spoken, sucking in air in surprise and hiccuping as a result. Ow. "I'm fine," she said in a half whine of confusion. She nearly jumped when the Spade King said something to her and offered to take her outside.
She decided to stay flopped there for the meantime as she tried to gather her bearings and see if Mirriam was all right. She glanced at the rabbits through teary eyes. What was a warren? Did that mean they were Argo's family? She gave a wave with a leg to them.
---
Devika had been hugging the door frame when she was told to get out of the way. She caught sight of the rabbits, made a small alarmed sound as she went back into the attic with Conall. Staying out of the way seemed like a grand plan.
---
Conall nodded and did what he was told. The King knew what he was doing, and honestly he could apologize for his ability later if he had to. When Devi came out, pretty much on her own he gave her a reassuring head pat.
For an eighteen year old she was really skiddish. He periodically glanced in the room, double taking when he saw some more strange things. A nervous whine escaped him as he contented himself on staying out of the way.

Sabe let the buck heal his wounds and smiled a quick thank you. "Yes... trying to help people is going to be the end of me one of these days." he said as he coughed up a bit more blood feeling the spell that Agro had cast on him slide away. He sat there for a moment and then with wide eyed terror did he look up to the newly formed rabbit before him. He had seen leverets but he had never seen a Jack before, but from her explanations he knew what he was looking at.
He shifted a bit to stand up, even allowing the buck to help him out. He gazed on equal level with the Jack-Joker. "Agro... I do not wish to go any further, and yet..." he gazed at him with full measure. "I know of your courts and what is required of a Jack." he said as he thanked that Myth had told him all about it. "I will not harm your possessions on fear of the White Rabbit and see them safe until you come to pick them back up." he said with a mock bow to the jack as best as he could.
He leaned heavily on his cane and looked at him, noting that this person Agro was not the threat, but his family Zach. Things must be done and done now, and he was in no shape to help those four in stopping this, though he could protect something that the world of Cards should not know of. It would be disastrous, the ones before him now knew of their existence, but the rest of the realms shouldn't. It was sad that the lev that he owned thinks of him as her Jack but he had never picked up that title himself nor did he correct it or say that he was.
He looked around and waited for the rabbit before him to answer, ignoring the looks and the rest of the room.

Argo's smile was alarming in two ways: she could not fathom why the Jack would be so pleased to see them; and her own reaction, which was relief. The feeling was completely irrational--the Cards had proven collectively that they could damage the Jack severely, and if he couldn't properly defend himself, there was no way he could defend others--but it was there, all the same. Misplaced solidarity, she supposed.
"No, Sir," she responded quietly in response to Argo's inquiry, shifting uneasily under the weight of so many stares. Maeve did not like being stared at--but rather than shrink in on herself as she would have normally done, she squared her shoulders and forced herself to pay attention to the discussion occurring.
Spades...as in the Courts of Spades? Maeve shivered, wondering where they were currently. And only three could go...but she didn't like the suggestion made by the bird-creature. Separate Shelby and herself? One of them would have to stay behind with all these Cards, and the thought filled her with dread. Who could trust a Card? But...to leave Argo alone in their company, when they had proven already their ability to severely harm him...
She glanced sharply at the other bird-creature--the one with the cane--as he suggested he look after Shelby and herself. They were perfectly capable of looking after themselves--mostly; thank you--and she didn't trust his motives. She didn't trust any of them.

((Argo snarled and rounded on Ez with a forced smile. "My Warren goes with me!" He didn't yell, he spoke forcefully and all of his muscles went taut. "They do not stay with Cardsssss... Especially not him!" He pointed to Sabe. "Miiiight, be able to take four...my Josiggy is...petite." So saying he gave the Leverets an approving look and squared himself before them.))
