Sabe heard his words and the other words that the cop had spoken. He quickly braced his self for anything that may come his way if need be. He quickly ran through his thoughts on the matter and the spells that he could use to employ if need be and worked quickly.
"Stop it right there Ace else I'll have to use force if need be." he said in a calm voice ignoring what was outside from Fetu's depiction. It was out there and they in here, so one thing at a time. His brows furrowed a bit as he quickly took in the facts. He noted the mouth on the front and the strange thing outside. These were all factors to be considered... who else was here and what were they doing. Things were odd and he quickly thought about it one step at a time.
Being in a hallway this size was the wrong thing to do right now. It gave too much room for them to maneuver if they wanted to do something, and aces seemed to be fast little critters. He thought about alternate area's... if they could get to the queens study then they would be better protected there, one way in and one way out... it was a gamble but it would work.
He didn't really turn around to speak, but he did move his neck some so that he could see both those behind him and the racing ace. "Up the stairs and start heading for the Queens study, I'll follow behind, yell if anything approaches from the front." he said as he started to walk backwards hand at the ready to cast the spell for the ace.

Horror flooded Alex as he found his feet going out from under him, his body twisting horribly as it changed. A strangled squawk escaped him and he collapsed in a heap, splitting at the seams and then --
It was over as soon as it had started. Feeling dizzy and nauseated, the Rook slowly staggered back to his feet, letting out a gasp that escaped from his chest. That was wrong. Sick and wrong. A pleading expression crept into his eyes as he turned to face the people who were supposed to help him, froze when all he saw in their faces was horror and fear. He hunkered down, trying to show that he was no threat, and cawed pathetically, taking a few steps forward.
The result was instantaneous, the group of high-ranking Cards almost immediately turning to threaten him. He was not here to hurt them, he just needed - he needed help! Why couldn't they see that?! There was a Queen of Clubs who was the biggest threat, holding a hand at the ready in case he -- in case he what, dared to follow after them and avoid having anything more awful happen? But what could he DO?! Abruptly, the mouth on his chest opened, and three voices came out of it at the same time, all of them speaking the same words but in very different tones.
"The Ace is no harm,[/b]" Alex spoke, through his mutation. It was a long shot, but perhaps his ability to bullshit would save his skin. "But if you harm it, He will have his vengeance. Deliver it, and you will be rewarded by Him.[/b]"

He let out a yelp when the King of Spades grabbed him. His feet nearly slid out from under him as he used his other hand to try to gain his balance. The King was saying something. Something else was here?
Conall squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, his grip tightening on the deer's hand. This was a nightmare, there was on other way of describing it. His ears twitched as he listened to the the other people speaking. The tears were slowly trickling down his face as he struggled not to have a complete break down. Bad. This was all very bad.
The Officer was saying something not very reassuring. The creepy Club Queen was giving orders. The Ace was talking. Talking in three voices at once. He whimpered as he peered around Malachior. Through fuzzy eyesight the Ace at least seemed less scary. "I really think I know him. I really think I know the Ace," he said a loudly as he could. Though it was quite clear that he was unsure of himself as he desperately clung to the Corvie.

((Something upstairs places long fingers on either side of the head of the Queen of Hearts. She appears to have been sleeping in her King's chambers, perhaps waiting for him to return...or perhaps as a statement to him that he would be sleeping on the floor or in the servants' quarters.
Her eyes pop open and seem to have a red mist build up behind them... Xiven is suddenly overcome with an incredible sense of anger and wrath...anything in her path is fair game... Good thing she's not in her own suite, or Wulfram would be in worlds of pain in a second. Sitting up slowly, ignoring the slowly receding lengthy hands behind her, and the long, sad sigh; she slowly gets up and slides out of the bed, taking her Bipedal form and snarling.
Voices...there were voices...strange ones, in her Palace. The sensation of rage completely overwhelms the burning sensation left behind by a syringe in her side as she slinks off for the main hall.))

Sabe would have none of this from which the Ace spoke of. Though he was about to spurt out the words of power to send a massive whirlwind at him and keep him pinned until he could knock him unconscious did he realize what the little one was saying, something was wrong... but maybe... maybe this ace knew something that could benefit him and the others here with him.
"Speak your words for you to live, and whoever this Him is then bring him forth and I'll deal with him as well." he said as he waited as he studied the Ace watching from what it could do. . . He didn't mind harming something, though he had never had to take a life before and didn't want to start now... even if it was just a ace.
He watched them and watched what was going on behind him, hoping that the ace meant what it said stating that it meant no harm... why should it deal harm? It was just an ace... and they were not powerful.
though maybe it could bite him and give him rabies... now that was bad enough.

There were people in her palace. A sharp hiss escaped her as she made her way to the stairs. She wanted them out. She wanted them to pay. Cat paws made her footsteps nearly silent as she stalked down the hall. There was nothing but a single minded fury engulfing her every movement. They were in the main hall. They were going to pay. She picked up speed, her anger building with each moment. She went down the stairs, the voices growing louder. A child? That voice almost sounded familiar. The others didn't belong. Threats. She could swear she was hearing people making threads in her palace. The small amount of her tail that was left suddenly became a scorpian tail, curling upwards as she finally came into sight. The Club Queen had just finished saying something. She let out a shriek, "Get out of my palace!"She activated the first spell that came to mind on the Heron, he couldn't make threats if he couldn't speak right? And then she noticed the card closet to her. The Tulgey snake. A hideous twisted grin appeared on her face, her eyes widening in a insane fashion. She cast a spell on him as well, one of her favorites.
Spell Cast on Sabe: Amazing Ability: Once a week, she is now capable of causing an opponent to spew fire from their mouths. The jets they shoot out only extend about two inches, most of it runs down their chin as ignited spittle, but it burns like hell as they are NOT MEANT TO BREATHE FIRE! Many will receive severe burns to the tongue and any "spoken" or word required spells can no longer be activated. The fire will last for about 30 seconds and cause rather a lot of pain as it does so. The only hope of healing that mess is a good Corvie...
Spell Cast on Lucius Powerful Ability: Once a month, she is able to cause a binding, resembling her own original, to appear on another SD for a full ten minutes before it will simply melt off. The heavy chains will impeded their speed and agility and cause them to fumble with their limbs as they get used to the heavy binding.

Sabe knew this woman, he knew her by tale and by a picture that he had once seen when he had to learn the other court members of the Hearts, Spades, and Diamonds. She was Xiven, Queen of the Court of Hearts. It was his mistake in thinking that the Ace was going to be some formidable enemy... he didn't realize that he would be fighting a member of the Royal Court of Hearts. This bode bad news for them all, and now before a moments hesitation did he realize that he was on his knees facing her fire spewing from his beak as he coughed up globs of flame, the pain was intolerable... he gasped for air when he could between the coughing fits of fire.
If only he could talk to her... explain why they where here in the first place, then maybe... just maybe she wouldn't reek her wrath on them, but for now he had to keep them safe... the people that he traveled with here and swore to himself that he would protect, for the Tulgey snake was already bound by some sort of magic that gave him rather odd bindings that restricted his movement.
He knew nothing that he could use against her that would be of any effect... why now?
Why did it have to be a queen of all things...
He wondered how long he would be spitting fire, but he did get up, he did move himself between her and the rest of the party. Spreading his wings to the full extent did he try to tell the others that they should run, and quickly... but the only thing that came out was spurts of fire as he coughed pointing for them to move away. He held his cane to her, knowing that he couldn't speak and probably couldn't utter the words any longer, but he would try his best to protect them.

With the Ace providing a wonderful distraction, spewing three voices at once, Lucius had no clue the Queen had descended the stairs behind him. Her shriek caught him off guard and he snapped around, red eyes widening as that twisted grin appeared on her dark features. "Your Majesty!" He gasped but he had no further time to make proclamations of innocence before she'd bound him. The staff in his hands clattered to the ground in his surprise and, quite honestly, horror.
A Torque had bound him!
He shook for a moment in rage, kicking his staff against the wall before awkwardly stumbling back a few steps to join it. Sabe was already stepping up to the plate, spewing fire out of his beak with every step, and Lucius was more than willing to let the Heron take the spotlight.
Malachior let out a suffering groan. Xiven's arrival was chaotic to say the least and a far cry from what he would have expected. Then again the entire Court was hauntingly empty, Aces were splitting into monsters capable of very sentient speech, and there were strange beings wandering the hills beyond the Court. In light of it all, Xiven's terrifying arrival was quite expected.
He reacted swiftly, unsummoning his tove so that it wouldn't make any sudden noises and alert the Queen as he nudged Conall toward the Ace near the door. It was the furthest point from actual danger (and he could certainly handle an Ace if he needed to) and it gave him time to study the situation accurately. The Queen did not seem herself. Lucius mentioned they had been acquaintances but she certainly didn't respond as if that was the case... He had no abilities that would be properly useful in restraining a rampant Queen, especially not this particular Queen, but he had an idea.
He glanced back to Conall. "If you recognize the Ace then talk to it and loudly, if you could. The Queen is certainly not herself... but she may recognize your voice... " May The Queen be sane enough to recognize her own family.
(Rolled for their reactions: 6 for Lucius, 18 for Malachior)

The Ace grew a stomach in its mouth. While Fetu didn't necessarily consider the frightened-looking creature to be a threat, she certainly wasn't letting it anywhere near her if she could help it. She remained near to the wall, silent, slowly falling more and more out of her depth as the situation escalated to new levels of madness.
Yes, she recognized the Queen of Hearts from pictures. The woman had been part of her training as an Officer, since it wouldn't be very prudent for a member of the Capital police force to mistakenly throw a drunk, titled noble behind bars without some knowledge of what they were doing. Hearts were said to be volatile, but Queen Xiven's general demeanor and bearing just seemed wrong on every level.
Then the Queen started throwing magic around, bound the bastard Tulgey without any provocation and seemed hellbent on directing her... madness, she supposed, upon Sabe. The trail of insanity had followed them from the Capital to the Court.
And all while there was something fecking weird outside. She shuddered.
There were abilities she might have used if the situation wasn't so beyond her. Would she interfere in a battle between Queens without backup? Titled Queens with more magic than she wanted to think about on a good day? No, she would not. Hand gripping the edge of her strange lantern like a vice, she edged her way nearer to the human man who had the child, Malachior. Her Mome stayed by her side.
Almost without thinking, she also summoned the bizarre little insect creature that had come to her with possession of the lantern. If she could just distract the Queen of Hearts enough to pause in her madness, perhaps something of sense would come back to the woman?
Except that the little insect would not move forward. As soon as she thought of Xiven as its target, in fact, the creature darted into the dark lantern at full speed. She could... she could swear she heard the little thing crying.
What the hell?! She stared in mute shock at the lantern and its distraught bug inhabitant.
Lantern Insect: Whenever the owner of the lantern feels they are in danger, they may call forth a tiny insect, the size of their thumbnail, with the words: half light. The insect resembles a scarab beetle in many ways, except for its delicate body shape and large pincers. It is an iridescent black with odd Heart shapes on its wing case. This insect will summon itself to attack Clubs ranked ten or lower if it is after midnight and the Clubs in question are within ten feet. If the Clubs move ten feet from the lantern itself, the insect will have to retreat back to its owner...where it will sit and hiss angrily. This is not the case if the lantern owner then sics the insect on the Club, wherein it will act as it normally does when it attacks and be able to travel up to 100 feet from the lantern.
When summoned to attack Hearts, the insect will often pause before attacking. If the Heart is ranked Jack or higher, it will refuse to bite them, though it may still sting or attack in other ways. Queens of Hearts will make the insect return to the lantern, wherein the light will actually go out until the Queen has left. Small crying noises can be heard from within at this time. PM the admin should this occur, as something strange may happen.

((The darkened lantern suddenly explodes with a black, icy cloud. This obstruction covers the whole room, obscuring everything for a whole 30 seconds, blotting everything from view...except for Fetu, who can see perfectly. In fact she can see more clearly than she normally would be able to...enough to see that thing flash by the windows again, behind the Hearts Queen up at the top of the stairs.
The icy cloud causes the most powerful people within 50 feet to lose the feeling in their right arms; being Xiven and Sabe, for a full minute. A ghostly shape rises out of the lantern; it looks like some sort of...elongated Feline? She rises out of the lantern and rushes toward Xiven, calling her name. Xiven will experience a brief moment of sanity as she recognizes Marie...before sinking back into rage-fueled madness.))
