Petunia held her breath for a moment as she listened to her companions speak. It could be anyone in there. From a prostitute to a thug to an innocent bystander. If only she could do the impossible and see through walls. Then again that would have been inconvenient in ever day living.
She nodded at both of their comments.
"Then let's go and do this," she said in a half whisper. "Though.... do you think we could open the door a crack to see if we can peak inside? I'm just uncomfortable at the idea of going in with guns blazing. Heaven only knows if they have a vat of acid or something over the door waiting for us."
It was highly unlikely. And considering she had managed to gracefully sneak away (which was a feat indeed) it was likely that they weren't prepared for people barging in.

Fetu's fur rippled along her back with a repressed shiver at the thought of acid hanging over the door. Waiting for them. Ancestors, what a ghastly thought. she certainly hoped not.
"I'll send Mezra a few steps ahead of us. After we get the door open a crack, he can step inside. If I see any immediate suspicious movement, or he does, he'll un-summon himself and disappear. If he indicates the coast is clear, we go in. Does that sound like a plan?"
Waiting for some sort of agreement, she nodded and walked very quietly towards the building. (Rolled an 18) Mezra shuffled along beside her, quills clacking softly but otherwise unnoticeable. When they reached the door, she took a slow breath and set her hand on the knob. Nothing happened. She tested it once, just to make sure she didn't foolishly fiddle with the lock of an open door, but no, it was 'secured'. Not very well, being such an old building. She could open this without an issue.
Fishing into her jacket pocket, she pulled out the small set of lock picks her 'mentor' of sorts had given her when she was young - and a he - and set about fiddling with the lock. It took a few moments, but there was a definite 'click'. She froze and waited to see whether or not anyone heard the soft sound inside.
(Rolled a 20. For him. *headdesk*) Pintel had been asleep, a tiny bit of drool collected on the cushion beneath his face. Something had woken him up, however. Might have been nothing. Might have been a fox in the alley, or a skulker walking past. Regardless, he was now awake.
With a soft breath, Fetu nudged the door open a crack, praying that the hinges wouldn't squeal. (Rolled an 18) They didn't, mercifully, and the little mome slipped inside. He didn't see anything in particular by the door, and a moment later his head stuck back out. It was clearly not alarmed.

Aberforth nodded, since it only made sense to send the Mome in first. It was small and rather unnoticeable. And perhaps it could scent out the pet they'd been told the criminals had with them, if it was even there. The Goat decided to hang back, for now. If it came down to fighting, well, though he didn't have a lot of experience he had his horns and hooves, and that should count for something. But he really couldn't do this stealth stuff very well, as his two companions had already seen...or rather, heard. On the floor next to the couch, Pintel's partner in crime of sorts also twitched at the noise, though didn't fully wake up yet... ((Rolled a 12, so. )) Aberforth was tense as he waited there, the aura of cold disinterest that always seemed to hover around him just a bit tighter than usual. His ears were panned forward still, straining to pick up any sound, and his pink eyes watched the scene play out below. He glanced at Fetu when he saw the little Mome's head poking back out. " All clear, then?" he asked, voice a harsh whisper. He would let the other two go first, since his footsteps would surely give them away, and then they'd never have the drop on these guys.

Sleep had been the only option, even though it just wasn't coming to her. Shoshanna had already cried until her eyes had felt so swollen that they actually hurt, and she'd fought with all the strength she had, but none of it mattered. There were ropes around her feet, keeping her from running away, and a bandanna between her teeth. So she couldn't scream for help, they'd told her. No matter how hard she pulled or how ferociously she'd squirmed, the ropes just wouldn't budge. Of course - there had been one point in the little war that she'd won. When they'd been binding her feet, she'd raised her tail and sprayed, and judging from the angry shouting, it had been a direct hit on at least one of the terrible Corvies. Even now that she'd been moved, she could still smell that smell. Maybe someone would be alerted to her presence because of it. Maybe. She couldn't think about it. All she could do was try to sleep, so that the next time they tried to mess with her she would have energy to fight again. But there was a noise, in all the quiet. The girl opened her eyes and glanced around, trying to move as little as possible. What was that? It couldn't have been her brother - she felt her heart plummet. Maybe it was just someone who would take her away next. The girl whimpered softly and shut her eyes tightly again. A tear squeezed out from between the lids, rolling slowly down her furry face. No..

Petunia was okay with this plan. And she had no problem letting the others go ahead of her, especially when she had no skills that would help them get in the door. She waited slightly behind the pair allowing Fetu to do what she needed and sending the Mome in.
It was a good plan. Hopefully nothing would go horribly wrong.
The little Tove was curled up minding its own business. It didn't care what was happening at moment, and probably wouldn't unless something actually happened to wake it up from its nap. (I rolled a three!)
Penny shifted closer to the pair of them when the Mome returned. This meant that they actually had do something now besides waiting on baited breath. The wait was certainly killing her, because something was going to go wrong somewhere.
What if there was another person in there? She had detected another person with her tongue. It could be old though. Biting the inside of her cheek she moved forward, a paw on the door.
Which creaked in protest.
(I rolled a FOUR, because clearly someone has to get the show on the road!)

Pintel sprawled on his futon, waiting sourly for sleep to reclaim him. It would take its damn time, of course, because it always did. Miserable alley they lived near. Always some noise or another tricking him awake, and then the universe laughed at him while he tried to scrape by with a few hours' sleep the next day.
Except he heard another noise to follow. One slightly less... unnoticeable. A creak.
His ears twitched and he refrained from jerking upright. Was Rags awake? Nah... he'd have probably heard something. Should probably get up, too. Damn 'probably'. All of this was probably some city vermin getting in, either animal or petty kid sneak, and he was still waking up for pretty much nothing. Had to be careful, though. Had a hostage. And they were still pretty 'hot'.
With a muffled grumbling noise in his throat, he stood and made his way very quietly out of their sleeping quarters. Or at least, as quietly as someone who'd just woken up could manage. There were scuffs and the tips of his paws ticked on the wooden floor. Time to trim the stupid things again.
Fetu froze at the sound and glanced back behind at Penny.
Just a creak... just a tiny noise. Nothing to worry about. Right?
...right?
Suits, she hoped so. She pressed on, carefully.

Ragetti twitched again and rolled over in his sleep as Pintel got up, mumbling quietly, something unintelligible... But even at the louder noise, he didn't actually wake up quite yet. They'd gone to a lot of work to get the kid hostage, and it had been quite tiring. (....he rolled a freaking 5 to wake up. XD Ahaha.)
Aberforth had just raised a hoof to follow along behind when the creak sounded out. It may have been relatively quiet, but to the Goat's ears it was as loud as a canon shot. Someone must have heard it. He was SURE someone must have heard it and was on their way -right now- to ambush them. He froze, ears trying to press back against his head and then twitching wildly in all directions to catch the barest hint of sound.
As a result...he heard something like very faint scuffling. His eyes darted around, back and forth, looking for easy escapes. "Watch out!" he hissed, not moving a muscle. There was, after all, the chance he was hearing things. He didn't trust his own ears any more than he trusted his hooves to be quiet, no matter how hard he tried.

There was a noise. That time, the girl was sure of it. Worst of all, one of the Corvies that had kidnapped her was awake.
The little Skunk withdrew into herself slightly, trying to scrape at the rag that had been stuffed into her mouth with a renewed strength that almost surprised her. It was no good, of course, the ties were tight and secure and bashing her face against the floor wouldn't do any good. What was going to happen to her? If someone really was coming to get the pair of criminals in trouble, what would they do to her? She knew what hostages were generally used for.
Was she going to die?
The girl continued to struggle against her bonds. She had to get out, before anything more could happen to her...! More than that, she couldn't wake up Ragetti - if he woke up, it was all over for her, she was certain.

With the motion of the Corvie getting up, the Tove stirred. It chirped with delight and floated over to Pintel looking for his affection. It may have been the middle of the night, but it was never to late for Chocolate when something couldn't tell time.
Penny's eyes narrowed as she bit her lower lip. Yes, of course the door made a sound when she touched it, it was just her luck. Her ears flew forward as she tried to listen to the sounds inside. However all she heard was the hiss of the Tulgey goat.
They needed to get the criminals while they were still disorientated. Even if one was awake they could still get the drop on them. She watched as the chipmunk carefully moved forward. Did they have time to play it safe. "Let's just move before they can prepare," she whispered.
She would press forward, and if Fetu allowed she would slip ahead of her.

As a Club, sometimes Pintel pushed himself a bit further than his limits would allow. Three days without sleep - he was fine. On the fourth day, though, he tended to droop. An hour and a half or thereabouts of sleep was not enough to have him fully alert right away after such an extended push. Should have known better. Should have had his partner stand guard, or the Pet, or someone.
He slipped one of his knives from his trouser pocket, fingering the hilt of the tiny thing and grimacing. Should have thought to grab a bomb on the way, but he was already away from his stash and he didn't feel like returning. Wouldn't do to waste one of the things on a group of stupid kids, anyway. Burglar might warrant it, though.
When the Pet chirped, his eyes flicked over in time to watch it approach. He rolled his eyes and pointed down the hall. "Check it out, why don't you?" he mumbled to the creature in a growling grumble. "Don' set fire to the house, Pet, an' you'll get a treat."
Fetu silently agreed with Penny and nodded, the situation making her ears flick back and a grimace flit across her muzzle before she stepped forward. She allowed her companion to slip ahead of her, but Mezra still led their odd little group, his quills clicking in an odd, quiet cadence as he trotted up the hallway. She followed after the two, glancing back at Aberforth as she went.
She had heard something too. Something faint, but... well. Time to move.
