((Rags rolls a 20 to resist Penny's headbutt. O.o An 11 to attack Penny again. 9, 5, and 19 to avoid the stings. So two hit.))
Using another speed burst, the Weasel somehow managed to twist away from the headbutt and lunged right for Penny's back, following the smell of her blood and the sound of her heavy breathing. He couldn't believe that they had all killed his only friend in the world. He was going to make them PAY, no matter what it took! He was focused enough on this that even the second sting from the insect managed to catch him on his tail, and the areas immediately swelled up. Of course, the pain only fueled his utter RAGE, and he didn't even notice, just tearing mercilessly at whatever target he could reach.
Aberforth was still frozen, crumpled...all he knew was the nightmare that he'd lived on that day. The day he lost both his parents.
Darkness...so much smoke and light...after an eternity, he fought through the smoke, or maybe it just finally cleared...his throat felt hot and he could barely get enough air. He was panting, blinking around the room at all the destruction. "MOM? DAD? MOOOOOOOOM!" They had to be here somewhere! Maybe they'd gone outside when the spell went out of control...surely they would have moved, gotten out of the hell of fire...but then, why had they left him there? Fear choked in his heart...
The prone body of the Goat shuddered, trying to fight off the vision...

( 6 for defense, 16 for recovery, 17 for the flying tackle and 18 for her wild biting..... XD apparently my dice can almost count in order.)
She missed.
How the hell could she miss?
Her heart skipped a beat as she tried to spring a recovery. Before she had the chance she felt a claw dig into her back. It ran quite the length down before she was able to spin around in recovery. A pained scream escaped her.
This was not how things were supposed to go. She couldn't see. She couldn't think straight. Why weren't they helping her? She couldn't hear the goat's hooves. They would have worked wonders against this stupid Corvie. This only made her hate the region even more.
Raged and in pain the canine mix went to tackle Raggheti. This time with a spring in her step and intent to bite anything that came in her general direction. Her adrenaline would be enough to allow her to temporarily forget the pain that was welling up to distract her.

Now warmed to its mission and bolstered by the lack of attacks in its direction, the bug continued being a general pest to Raghetti - flying at his face, buzzing past his ears, and attempting to bite (rolled a 10) and sting (rolled two 7's) all the while. Its general speed, miniscule size, and mildly malevolent spirit made it a serious inconvenience, if not an outright problem yet. Fetu could see the fight in progress as clearly as if it was broad daylight - better, in fact, because the daylight would have blinded her horribly - and she didn't like what she saw. One down, but the other was in a complete and utter rage of madness, or so it seemed. And that horrible little fire-monster, where had it gotten to? Would they have to deal with magical attacks once they had dealt with the Spade? She gritted her teeth and gave the bug another few moments to do its thing before she jumped back into the fray. She would just have to hope that Penny could hold on for a little longer. The Hisstor would be reasonably useless in hand-to-hand combat, but then, Esterberries weren't renowned for their fighting prowess either. She might have to reevaluate her opinion of the region after watching the other girl fight tooth and claw.
Thoroughly aggravated by all the commotion going on around him, a decidedly less quilled Mezra hissed from his position on the floor and aimed to take a bite at one of the dark legs passing in front of him. (Rolled a 14.)

He stumbled into another room...he heard shouting but he tuned it out, it wasn't important...there was a clawed hand on the floor...lifeless...sticking out from under a china cabinet, the china all broken and shattered in pieces around the body of his mother. Aberforth yelled, screamed, reared up and back...and suddenly he was right back there looking up at the Torque. Murdock's eyes were wild and he was laughing...he began to throw out wild spells as the wings on his back vanished and a streak of gold shot through his mane. There was an explosion and everything caught on fire...everything went wrong...Aberforth stumbled, choking on the smoke...he had no idea where everyone was...
((Rags rolls 13, 3, 16, 4, and 13 for defense. So everything hits except the bite, augh. XD;; And 11 for an attack on Penny before the spell wears off.))
This time, the tackle caught him right on, and the weasel went flying through the air, snarling in incoherent rage. She was biting all over him, but he was still too keyed up to even notice as his blood soaked his black fur. He clawed and bit back while the bug continued to sting him, though he managed to avoid the bite by sheer luck. It was possible he wasn't even aware of the little thing at all, since it wasn't a large target and hadn't had a hand in 'killing' his partner.
Suddenly, though, and abruptly, Raghetti just...stopped. Went a bit limp, panting hard as if he'd just run a marathon, and wincing in pain as all his injuries seemed to flare up all at once. Hazily, he blinked his eyes up at the crazy Esterberry on top of him (who he couldn't actually see in the darkness) and put his arms up in defense. "FINE!" he choked out, nearly sobbing. "JUST GO AHEAD AND KILL ME TOO-AHHHH!" He kicked weakly at the little Mome as it landed a painful bite on his ankle. ((5 for the kick)) "GO ON YOU MURDERERS! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?"

(Rolled an 11 for Penny's defense. The Tove is armed and ready for action.)
Penny would be the first admit that she absolutely sucked at fighting. However when she was hurt, annoyed, and afraid for her life biting and scratching came naturally. They were supposed to subdue the criminals and bring them to the station, so in her panic she managed to think about tackling the man in the process. At the very least if he was on the ground it would be easier to keep him from tearing her head off or something.
His attack was a shallow hit, tearing through what little of her uniform was left, and drawing a bit of blood. It didn't hurt nearly as much as her back, which she was still capable of ignoring thanks to the adrenaline in her system.
He started screaming again. Penny kept herself firmly on top of him as he suddenly stopped his vicious attack. His arms nearly hit her when he raised them up in self defense. "We're not trying to kill you!" Good Suits. "Fetu, Handcuffs! NOW!"
Another down, though Petunia was still worried by the other scent she had originally detected. They still could be lying in wait. With all the smell of blood in the air she couldn't make heads or tails of much with her nose. They should probably check all of the rooms before heading out.
She could feel her back starting to ache.
The little Tove had curled around its sleeping master's neck protectively. It would probably cause them a bit of trouble when they went to collect the man. It didn't like all of this ruckus and was more than prepared to set someone on fire again.

Dodging away from the kick, Mezra snarled at the prone form and bristled, remaining quills clacking in a threatening rattle. He backed away, though, more bark than bite unless called on by his summoner.
Fetu couldn't release the darkness spell - it lasted for its full duration and that was that - so she slipped the handcuffs out of her pocket and headed toward Penny and the suddenly distraught criminal. Her throat was tight from pain and she tried not to bend in any particular directions. "What... did you call me?" she muttered as she leaned forward to slip them on his wrists. Anything to restrain him and end this madness.
(Rolled a 17 for the bite.) Now with a clear target in front of it, the bug homed in on Rags with a vengeance. Its evil little pincers open wide, it flew straight at his arm with intent to chomp down.

"MOM! DAD!" he was yelling and choking from the smoke...he couldn't see anything, his eyes were burning...
Wait...Aberforth shuddered, eyes that had been wide open and staring at the past closing tightly. He heard other voices... and that nightmare...that had happened a long time ago.
Fire...laughing...smoke... No...no there was no smoke. It was a memory...it wasn't happening! It took all the force of will he had, but the Tulgey managed to wrench himself out of the memory. His eyes opened again, narrowed and determined. It was to a dark room, and he nearly lost it again right there, but he clamped down firmly on the fears of the past. He pushed himself up to his hooves, his head spinning, and made his way over to the group with echoey steps, following the sounds of their voices and ignoring the dark, blood, fire, pain...
Still defending himself weakly with his arms in front of his face, Raghetti shook his head. "No...you migh' as well kill me anyways...you already killed Pintel an'all." He forlornly glanced in the direction where he thought his partner's body was lying, though he still couldn't see much of anything at all.
Aberforth had to grit his teeth and force himself not to freeze up again as the criminal said someone was dead...he couldn't recall any of the battle, but he ruthlessly pushed down any shame he may have felt at what had happened. Really, though, he should have realized he'd never be any good in a fight. He just hadn't expected...that. Never again, he vowed silently to himself. He moved past, flaring his nostrils and finding the heavy body of the other man. He nosed at him, not seeing the Tove on top. Cold...arm sticking out...taloned hands... No...no, this body was still warm. The Goat shook his head firmly. "He's not dead," Aberforth said, his voice several degrees chillier than normal with the effort of controlling his emotions. It was only with an effort of will he was able to not lose himself in the past again.
Raghetti blinked, and wiggled a bit in Penny's hold, trying desperately to see Pintel. "'E's not?" he asked, but before he could act on this new information there was a hard bite on his arm and he cried out and shook it. Of course, as the venom rushed through his system, he just flopped over...out cold. ((rolled a 10 so...you got him. XD))

(( The tove rolled a 1 for his reaction to Aberforth. ))
The tove hissed when it heard the voice of the goat. Being as pitch black as it was when it tried to lash out it hit nothing. It would have breathed fire if it wasn't wrapped around it's master's neck the way it was. It knew that lighting its master on fire was bad.
Petunia continued to sit on the man until his handcuffs were firmly in place. Of course, as soon as the cuffs were placed on the man passed out with a thud on the floor. That was just spectacular wasn't it?
She wanted to hell at Aberforth. Where the hell had he been the entire fight? Her nostrils flared as she inhaled deeply. Damn she hurt. It was going to be horrible walking back to the station. And just... it was going to be horrible for a while.
"We need to check this place for the other scent," she stated as she remained seated on the criminal. It was still freaking dark and she wasn't going to walk into a wall or anything. "We should check the other room..."

With the other Spade restrained and apparently exhausted, Fetu stood back up painfully and shuffled toward the unconscious body of the Club. (Rolled a 7 for hearing the hiss, but a 17 for noticing the creature's movement.) She didn't notice the hissing noise as Abeforth examined the body, but with her vision so sharp in the darkness, she did take note of a shifting snake-like form around the man's neck. Pausing, she stared at it warily. Then she turned back. "He's not dead. He's asleep. Could you tell me-" But the man had just fallen unconscious. She stared at him, taken aback for a moment before the insect buzzed back to her side and sat on her shoulder with a self-satisfied air. Oh yes. Of course. Wasn't that just terribly helpful, little bug? She grimaced and turned back, watching the little thing closely. "One of us is going to have to neutralize this little... thing here before I can cuff Pintel. I think it must be a Slithey. I doubt it's summoned, with their ranks. And the darkness spell shouldn't work much beyond the hallway, although I don't relish the thought of running into an ambush from a companion of their lying in wait. Actually... hmm. I think I might be able to neutralize the thing. You'll both need to close your eyes, though, if you don't want to end up with horrific migraines." As she said this, she un-summoned the bug and slowly took off her coat with a regretful grimace.

Aberforth caught the hiss, and reared back a bit from the body, squinting into the utter darkness to try and see whatever had made it. His ears flickered nervously all over. How was he supposed to do anything when he couldn't see even an inch in front of his nose? He heard the voices of his companions, and he had to focus hard to actually hear what they were saying. The fear was trying to rise up like bile in his throat, alien and nostalgic and cold, and he forced it back down with a swallow.
He nodded as Fetu spoke of neutralizing the Tove, which he gathered must be the creature that had hissed at him. He took another few steps back from the body for good measure. He thought that Fetu herself might actually be able to SEE in this darkness, which made him wary. But he replied verbally anyway, for a lack of other options. "Very well. After that we can go look for others." He sure didn't want to be ambushed either. But closing his eyes didn't seem like a dangerous move since they weren't doing him much good opened right now. He closed them tightly, ignoring the scenes from memory that tried to rush in behind his eyelids, and he kept his ears perked to their very tallest.
