"Yes...a bell. Does it ring to warn the wearer, or to deafen enemies? Or does it ever ring at all, and instead sits there, mute and silent, only a pretty adornment with no voice? I suppose I wouldn't know, if I lived a life with no danger, right?" Again she tapped the bell with her hoof, her manacles chiming in place of the bell itself. Then she looked up at Cauter, who almost resembled as much of a Torquehelm/Corvistowne cross as she with those piercings, her own eyes glassy and flat.
"I think I shall take this, and dissect its secrets without pulling it apart. Would that ruin the magic, do you think?" Her ears flopped about her, and her eyes wandered about his body, drifting momentarily to the spine that he was carrying for the other patron of the shop, before drifting off to examine something else across the room. One of the Slithy Toves, maybe.

"It rings sweetly once or twice to warn the wearer of danger, little lady. Nothing more, I'm afraid."
He shook his head as she seemed to lose interest and picked the bell up.
"I'll just take this up front for you, my dear. Pick it up and pay when you're done shopping."
Grinning to himself, he walked to the front and set the spine and the bell down gently. His ears flicked forward at the small, odd sound.
Raising an eyebrow, he picked the bell back up...stared at it for a moment, then shook it gently.
It rang.

"Are you in danger, then, good sir?" the deer asked curiously, having gotten whatever thought it was out of her head and followed him up toward the counter. She eyed him and the bell that he held in his hand sleepily, before once more glancing around the shop.
"A highly intriguing place, full of secrets and whispers, I think. I shall have to come back here at some point, if only to look around properly. I have little more money than the cost of that bell, so everything else is far out of my price range. But later, yes. I shall have to save things up, I think. It coasts fifteen, yes? That is what the sign said at least." With that she dipped her nose down to a pouch that was slung about her, simple to make and rather common amongst those who had only their Animal forms, especially those who had hooves. Paws, at least, could be mildly dexterous. Hooves were nothing more than something to stand on.

It was chance that brought him into the store; he’d heard rumours through the inns and cafés about a crazy Corvistowneian with an odd store filled with magical bits and things. So Shinrai kept a lookout, but he hadn’t realized exactly where it was until he’d walked in. He was rather surprised to see that it was another horse who owned the store, but he was more surprised by the rings piercing the equine throat. He tried not to stare, but that really surprised him more than anything else. After his initial shock, however, the customer simply bobbed his head at the shopkeeper’s greeting and began to poke carefully through the merchandise. Without hands, it was difficult to really look everything over, but he was soon distracted by one of the explanatory cards. He waited until he could get Cauter’s attention then called the purplish horse over. ”Anything to add about this bone gauntlet?” he asked curiously. ”It seems a rather... odd item to have in stock.” Odd but very, very intriguing.

Cauter stared from the disconcerting eyes of the tiny doe back to the bell, before quickly handing it over to her, taking the money and shooing her gently out of the shop.
The odd Equine had just turned around to come back inside when he found himself face to face with another Equine, large and green. He nearly yelped in surprise, biting it down and listening to the other man's question.
"Ah, we have had much stranger, I assure you. Not much s known about that gauntlet...its previous owner wasn't in the best of ways when he sold it to us...I do know that it may cause some...changes to you, were you to equip it upon your person, your Excellency."

She walked into the shop and looked around she had heard about this quaint place with some items being of good quality as well as some not being much coin. Since she really did not have a lot of money and was always spending so much time in town now she figured that Ashwin’s suggestion about going and talking to the shopkeepers could not hurt any right? She slowly opened the door and looked around. The man who appeared to be the shop keep seemed to be busy with another customer so she decided that she would take this time to take a look around at what there was to offer. She took notice of the small animals that he had to offer, but none seemed to strike her fancy as the banders had. She also had to admit that the bracelet with the red rubies was beautiful as well as the jade goblet. However, it was the gold necklace with the blue orb that really caught her attention. It was rather pricey but she wanted to take a better look at it if the man would let her. She patiently waited for her turn to be addressed.

The grey-green eyes went thoughtfully back to the item. He’d heard good and bad things about the items from this shop out on the street. Was it worth risking? He wasn’t actually that concerned about changes to himself; he was more interested in the possibility of knowing more about Shin. It was unclear if the item would aid him in such an endeavour.
Still… was the last owner in a bad way because of the gauntlet or something else? He couldn’t belie his continued interest in it. He wished there was some way he could know exactly wot it did, but, then again, that’s probably why the store came with disclaimers. Actually, for that very reason, he should find out as much as he could from Cauter about the odd item. He wouldn’t want to be turned into a fish or female or something equally strange as that.
”Wot sort of changes?” Rai asked thoughtfully.

"Ah, well..." Cauter hemmed and hawed slightly, not sure what to tell this man that would make him still want to purchase the item.
"It may have the result of being bound to you, so I advise against purchasing it unless you wish to never take it off...I can assure you, however that the powers that accompany it are magnificent!"
He spotted the large bird standing off to the side and took the out as quickly as possible.
"If you'll just excuse me for one moment, mull over that for a few seconds, I need to speak with another waiting customer."
He moved over to the beautiful young eagle.
"Can I help you, dear lady?"

Shinrai’s ears flattened as he nodded to Cauter in affirmation; he didn’t want to interfere with the man’s business just because he was a bit leery of a potential purchase. Still… he found the item oddly alluring, drawing him with his innate desire to try and learn more of his brother. His tail absently tapped the inside of one hind leg than the other. Hooved, he wasn’t certain just how well the gauntlet would work with his feet. With that in mind, he was leery of spending so much on the item.
When Cauter came to check on him, he would make a low offer, hoping to get the other horse to come down on the price. ”It sounds a bit dangerous, and I’m not even certain how well my hooves will do with such an item.” He turned to glance at the item again. ”Nevertheless, it does seem interesting. I’ll give you 75 for it.”

She jumped slightly not expecting him to approach her so quickly. “Umm…that is….uhh…”[/b] She coughed to clear her throat and took a deep breath as she pushed her nervousness aside. “Can, can you tell me more about this necklace?” she asked innocently as she pointed to the stunning blue and gold jewelry and looking him in the eyes.
She clasped her hands together and waited patiently for him to tell her what he could about it, but she was cut off from her inquiry about the beautiful adornment when the equine from the marsh made a statement and an offer regarding the strange ornament he was examining.
She waited patiently for the shop keep to answer the man and her own inquiry and again wait her turn since the other man had been here before she had as well as he also wanted to purchase the strange creepy looking object.
