Souris turned towards the shop keep, lowering her head a little as she looked up at him. Coquettish, and shy at the same time, while giving her time to think. She was reluctant to discuss her affairs openly. Especially when a black Torquehelm heron and blue Sorgaireian weasel entered. She tolerated his grin, and flipped eyebrows, and waited patiently, while he greeted the incoming customers, rolling her eyes in disgust inwardly, particularly when the heron decided to wait around. She moved fluidly over to Corvistowneian shop keep, hesitating carefully, before she offered quietly, "Perhaps we could arrange a private audience at another time?" seeing a mixed child awaiting his attention as well. An appointment would give her her much desired privacy, and possibly, an intimate setting in which to cultivate the Corvistowneian discreetly. She could not achieve her objectives within a single meeting, anyway, let alone secure his loyalty. Assuming that Cauter held sufficient power in Corvistowne.

Cauter listened patiently to the Range dweller...he sounded as though he must possess a good amount of money from ll of the things he had in mind. Lovely.
"Hmmm, the steel bracers are actually on hold for another customer at the moment, but I'm sure I could find another pair somewhere, should your interest still hold. As to why they shouldn't be worn at night...well...they just. Ah, but what does it matter? Another person will be taking them home."
He smiled shiftily and attempted to get the other's mind off of the bracers.
"Indeed the spear never misses a mark, or so its last owner told me...a very special thing it is indeed. As for those knives you describe...I do happen to know where I could run to pick a few up. Tell me, are you interested in an enchanted pair of knives...or a plainer sort?"
As he waited for the Range dweller to make up his mind, he turned back to the Heron behind him, still calling after him and being annoying.
But something had caught his attention...full price?
"My dear, forgive my rudeness, your bluntness did startle me and I am quite swamped...but if you are really...attached to this item. I'm perfectly willing to sell t to you."
He eyed the Lowland...appendage, wondering what on earth she planned to do with the thing...but that wasn't his job. He was sure he'd find out soon enough. Someone was bound to notice the results.
He then turned to head back to his register, passing the lovely mouse once more. He gave her a wink...and heard her whisper.
"If it's a private audience you want my dear just head on back there."
He gestured toward the register...and the slightly tattered curtain behind it.
"Have a seat back there and feel free to help yourself to the tea...I brew it myself. I'll come back and we'll talk once all of these others have taken their leave. Shortly, then."
He winked again, desperately repressing the urge to drag his tongue across his teeth...quite pretty she was...exquisite...really.
He nearly tripped over the odd child on his renewed way back to the register.
"Ah, terribly sorry m'lad. Didn't see you there, see anything you like?"

Money was the right answer now, wasn't it? Very well then. She would pay for the damned leg and be done with the shop. He had a weird emphasis on his words anyway. She had no idea how he could be so enthusiastic anyway.
The heron made her way to the register, and took the proper amount of money out of her messengers bag. All that money for her mechanical leg was gone. Spent on some Lowland Leg for Rocky. That was the price of playing a rather nasty prank on him, wasn't it? Stupid stupid stupid. She never should have been a horrible bitch to him.
Once the horse was done with tripping over that poor boy, and he finally did make it to the register she said, "I'm going to need help putting it in my bag, if you don't mind. I don't exactly want to put something like that in my mouth."

It had been quite some time since Serafino had bothered to visit the small shoppe in the bazaar renowned for its collection of enchanted oddities. Most of the time he had no need for what the man supplied and, on the rare occasion he or his uncle heard an interesting rumor, they usually sent one of their Jacks to investigate and hammer out a deal if necessary. It didn't happen very often that he visited such a place himself, only once or twice in his entire life. What he had in mind, however, wouldn't be suited to another person. He entered the store and cast his eye around at the mob scene, people investigating different items set around the room to catch their attention in just such a way. There were quite a few customers in the space, some of them demanding the man's attention and others occupied with investigating a particular item alone. None of them seemed especially worth his attention, none so much as the bizarre-looking pink equine covered in gleaming bits of jewelry. Approaching the man, he made sure to catch his attention in no uncertain terms, posture as straight and regal as he ever held it. He very, very seriously doubted that the shopkeep was about to ignore a Queen of Hearts in his store. Moreover, the Queen of Hearts was sure to garner even further attention, what with his face appearing in posters here and there throughout the Capital. If the man was as driven to make a sale as one of his Jacks had hinted, this was one customer he couldn't afford to ignore. "I am in the market for something very specific," he told the man in a cool tone. If he missed any of this, it would be on his own head. "A weapon, a light-bladed sword, attractive and well-crafted. It should be very heavily enchanted, something to either protect or reinforce the user in battle. The stronger the enchantment, the happier I'll be. I am a very picky person. If you actually manage to impress me... you may set whatever price you wish."

Souris could hardly believe the ease with she'd been granted a private audience. He hadn't even taken the time to consider her request. Perhaps Cauter wasn't the Corvistowneian she sought. But she scampered toward the register without the slightest qualm. A Corvistowneian, even one who didn't have the correct set up, would be able to give her the appropriate information, and put her in touch with the correct Corvistowneians. She didn't truly care for his presumptive familiarity in calling her 'my dear', much less the implication that she had nothing better to do than to wait around for him to be free to talk. But if he had the means to achieve her desire, then she would permit this insolence, and much more. She pushed sharply at the curtain, grimacing inwardly at the dirt and grime that came off on her paws, and forced her way past the tattered weight, into the back room.

Xylia had only been living in the Capital for a short while before her wanderings brought her upon Cauter's shoppe. An acquaintance had directed her attention to an interesting pair of Bracers and her mother had done her the kind favor of placing a hold (and a down payment) on the Bracers in question. Entering the crowded shop, Xylia made sure to keep to herself for the time being. She wanted to get a closer look at the Bracers her friend had mentioned before pursuing the obviously busy shop keeper's attention. She took a short while to seek out the Bracers and look them over, assuring herself of their quality and price before gathering them up and bringing them to the counter where the bipedal horse busied himself with his customers. The adolescent doe nudged them up onto the counter and flicked her tail gently, eying him. "Excuse me, Sir, when you have a moment... I have a few questions about these Steel Bracers. They were put on hold for me, I believe."

"Of course, my dear, one moment."He rummaged under his counter, before pulling out a small burlap sack and shoving the leg into it, pulling out the bags drawstrings and handing them to her. "Thank you for your purchase, and please, do take care. I hope you won't remember me as too rude..."If she was always a spender like that, then he wanted her to come back often.... He then turned to the small, Corvie doe, what a sweet looking child and listened to her inquiry. "Ah, yes. Here they are."He said happily, pulling them out from beneath the counter and also stowing them in a sack for the child. "Paid for in advance by your dear mother, tell her thank you for me, won't you? Ah, a question? I'm afraid I don't know too much about them, but please feel free to ask me anythi-"He stopped mid sentence as The Queen of Hearts The Queen of Hearts! Stepped through his doorway. The Equine bolted out from behind the counter, in order to drop to one knee before the Queen, his face even pinker than usual with delight as he listened, barely breathing as his excitement grew with every word the Queen said. "Of course, your majesty, I am at your command..."He murmured, nose nearly touching the floor...which was the only way he was going to be able to stop himself from leaping up and kissing the man. Name his own price!!!"I can assure you that only the finest blade will I return to you with."

O! Mother had paid for them in full? Well then, that made things much easier on the adolescent. She didn't have much coin in her pocket at the moment, after all.
As for questions, though... she moved to part her lips, only to have Cauter rush off to greet his next guest. A very important guest at that. Xylia would not stand about and occupy his time then, rudeness was something she couldn't stand and she would not be the cause of it being directed toward The Queen. So she smiled and dipped her head politely, moving around Cauter and slipping discretely out the door.
After all, if Cauter had answers for her questions than he probably would've told them up front. Such as why she shouldn't wear the Bracers at night... Ah well, she was a scientist and as a scientist she would just have to find out herself, wouldn't she?

Loreta didn't have a chance to thank him for putting it in a bag. She snapped her head around to see The Queen of Hearts. What on earth would THE Queen of Hearts be doing in a place like this?
The heron choked back a whimper as she whipped open her messenger bag and managed to stuff the sack and leg in it. As stealthily as she could, which was not that stealthy considering she was hopping, she carefully made her way to the door. Opening it was quite a struggle. Enough of a struggle that she fell on the ground outside in a heap after the door swung open.
The heron muttered a curse as the door slammed behind her. Great. On the bright side she would never see The Queen of Hearts as long as she lived. At least, that was what she hoped. Oh well. Time to get this leg to Rocky. Hopefully he would know what to do with it.

And, after most of the guests had left, a smaller figure would step inside the shop and look around with slight amazement. There were so many things to look at in here! He didn't know where to begin really, and he wasn't entirely sure he would find anything sensible to part with the few coins he'd managed to get together to come here. But then again, he was sure he'd find something sensible. He made sure to stay out of everyone's way, and kept his eyes mostly on the things within the shop, not realizing the importance of one of the present shoppers. And that's when he spotted it, something useful! He moved closer to the cloak and sat up on his hind limbs, running a paw over the material, it was warm even now. He really didn't like the idea of spending another night cold, and shivering, and this looked like it would certainly do the trick. Now he would simply wait for the shop keep respectfully while he dealt with his other customers.
