He grinned at her sense of humor. Well at least she had a good one. Otherwise he would be hung out to dry, he was sure of it. Of course, little did she know that the sparrow probably would have flirted with her without the help of the magic. The wings were unnerving, but it was hard for the sparrow to pass up a pretty woman.
Though the thought popped in his head again that he should probably stop. She probably did have a mate that could tear his beak clean off his face. And she was a voodoo priestess... and could do quite a bit of damage herself. Probably.
He brushed the thought aside. "Oh wow, the Court of Hearts? I think that's the only court my family hasn't been in." He refrained from snorting at the thought. Dad really did know how to get around. "Yeah, the Capital changes a lot. I might be able to find a place you're looking for though."

She decided not to comment further about the Courts; the dislike for those sorts of places oozed from the man even if he didn't necessarily mean for it to. It wasn't like she had any reason to continue talking about them; they weren't exactly her favorite place either. Zuberi pulled against him when he offered him her hand, giving a bit of a push-off before finally standing upright, releasing his hand with a thankful nod before dusting herself off. After all, the streets weren't exactly the cleanest of places.
So, the bird knew his way around the Capital eh? At any rate, it seemed like he knew a good place to go. She gauged his expression with a cocked brow, as if wondering if he had some alterior motive. That would probably have been a good time to be a diamond.. but she felt assure she'd be able to scare him off if he meant some ill will. She stood there for a few breaths in silence, arms crossing over her breasts in an almost haughty way. Perhaps it would make him feel awkward; that was all well and good, because his level of gallantry was lacking where his capacity for flirting did not. "So. Are ya gonna be showing me where this place is?" Well, he hadn't exactly -invited- to take her. Not in any definite wording. Then again, she was probably misconstruing his intent. Absently, she waved off the notion.
"Ah.. I'm sorry. I must be misunderstanding your intent." She said with an almost apologetic smile. "If you point me in the right direction, I can be along my way. I'm probably taking up all ye time..."

He blinked a few extra times as he stared at the woman. What had he done wrong? He had offered to help her up and show her where she needed to go... did she want something more? Did this mean that she was available? But she was clearly showing....
"Well, I'm clearly rusty at this whole socializing thing. I suppose I spent too much time cooped up these past few weeks. So, I am more than happy to show you where ever you want to go, Ma'am. The strings attached are completely up to you since I haven't the slightest idea what your status is." He gave her a rather weak smile.
He just really really hoped she wouldn't get pissed off. He really didn't want to make a voodoo priestess angry. The bird shifted a bit debating if he should take back everything he had just said. It was too late though.

Twitch. Twitch. The corner of her mouth flickered in an unpleasant way. So, just because she was -knocked up- meant she was with someone, did it? It was a logical enough assumption, but in her hormone-riddled mind it was nothing more than an insult. NEVER would she have EVER been in any sort of consensual relationship with the -monster- that impregnated her.
Arms crossing in front of her chest in a clearly defensive gesture, her mismatched eyes narrowed most dangerously. "WELL. I'll have you know that I'm not in a relationship. In fact..I'm looking to be sure the father of this.. this.. HELLBEAST -dies-! And ah don' need the likes of -you- treating me like some -old maid- because I'll have you know that I'm -not-!"
She needed to leave. She needed to get away from this damned Selkie before she decided to leave him standing in nothing but his skin.. or worse. With a sneer, she whirled around to face the opposite direction, and began to stomp away from him.

((Hope you guys don't mind me joining?)) Aima had not been looking forward to her first trip to the Capital. She had heard things about it, or more specifically about the type of people who lived there. People who were more interested in life or holding jobs they hated over their life passions and science. She almost pitied them. The first thing that struck her was how clean it was. The buildings actually looked sturdy! The next was the people. While they were not as bizarrely interesting to look at as those in Corvistowne (she was always fascinated at what Corvies were willing and did do to themselves), they made for an interesting way to pass the time. But then she saw the winged-lady standing in the street talking to a sparrow. What delightful wings! Even more striking were her eyes, which caused her imagination to run wild with all the possible reasons for them to be as they were. Between her webbed clawed hands, accessories, and dark clothing she got a mystical and undead-like vibe. Then it hit her. Voodoo? Or maybe she had overheard such a thing somewhere (like moments ago when the lady and the sparrow were speaking, but one can never be sure). Now there was someone who might understand her passion to remove all her blood! And so engrossed was she in staring at a Queen of Clubs that she completely forgot to dash out of her way as she whirled around and stomped away from the sparrow.

(( OOC: <3 It's fine. Malc is totally going to stick around though, just so you know. Unless Zub decides to kick his ass. ))
Oh. Crap. Uh. That...
He wasn't good dealing with this pregnant woman thing. He couldn't leave a random voodoo priestess angry at him. What if she decided to do something later like curse him?
How the hell did a jar of pickles get him into this? Maybe he should go back to hiding in someone's closet, because damn this sucked worse than having a job. The sparrow bolted forward.
"Wait! Wait! I didn't mean anything like that! I'm sorry! I swear I'll buy you the biggest dinner at the best restaurant in the capital and take you on the best date you've ever had!" He almost flailed with panic. "I'm so impossibly sorry and I didn't mean to offend you. I'm just an idiot sometimes."
Suddenly there was a Corvie in the path of the voodoo priestess. When they gotten there? Had they been listening the entire time? Why hadn't they bothered to stop him from being an idiot?

((I rolled a twenty sided dice to decide the outcome of a short little pine marten at her feet. She.. rolled a four. )) Zuberi hadn't seen the pine marten at all, for all that it was longer than it was tall, and was just about at her feet when she'd turned around. She had been walking briskly, and when her foot caught underneath the slinky Corvie below her, all that forward motion had only one direction to go. Zuberi gave a yelp, arms flailing out in a desperate search for either purchase or balance, and she found neither. In a motion that only a cat or a squirrel could muster, her curled and twisted middair to keep herself from falling flat on her stomach... but it didn't stop her from falling -hard- on her side with a horrible 'thud'. .... Ow.... The woman whimpered, curling up a bit on the cobblestone road. It hurt... her whole body hurt. Whether any damage had been done, she wasn't sure, but the searing pain in her elbow and shoulder, and hips where they made contact with the road made her feel a sense of panic. Was the baby okay? The fact that she was even worrying.. confused her. All these months of nearly hating this thing inside of her... and now she worried? She gave a soft whine, unable to muster the strength through the pain to get back up.

((I wouldn't expect him to vanish. XD; And.. apparently the dice have it out for your character.))
Aima's first reaction was shock; the second was surprise and disorientation. When Zuberi's foot caught her from underneath it knocked her over. She flailed for a moment in correcting herself, but it wasn't long before she was right side up (she wasn't far from the ground to begin with) and trying to get her barrings. When she saw the winged-lady laying on the ground panic settled in.
I just killed a Queen of Clubs!
No, wait, she was moving. She bolted to her side to help, mumbling incoherent apologizes as she tried to figure out how to correct this horrid accident. Her first thought was to move her somewhere more agreeable, the second was wondering how in the world was she supposed to do that?
She looked up at the sparrow.
"Can you help me lift her?" she pleaded, actually hoping he would do it all. Having one short and one tall person lifting something made for awkwardness and usually more problems than it was worth. No! What was she thinking? She was surely worth it, and so was saving her own hide should the lady be furious at her, a small part of her mind reminded herself. Then she realized she should ask first. "Do you want us to help you up or move you somewhere more comfortable?"

Everything happened entirely too fast. He watched in complete and utter horror as the woman suddenly tipped forward and hit the ground. A pregnant woman had just fallen at an awkward angle flat on her face.
For a moment he was completely frozen in mid-motion. When the Corvie spoke he jumped. Oh shit. He couldn't just stand their awkwardly and watch the woman lie on the ground. He didn't hear a word the Corvie said as he went to pick up the fallen Queen.
"Please, please, please, tell me you're all right," he said as he carefully picked her up off of the ground without so much as asking her permission. It wasn't everyday a pregnant woman fell on their face in front of you so he didn't think it was time to have manners. He didn't let go of her until he was sure she was standing properly and not about to fall over again.
He turned the the Corvie with a stunned expression. "What would possess you to stand behind a pregnant woman like that?"
His attention snapped back to the Queen. "Can I please take you to a doctor?"

Zuberi gave a groan as she was scooped up from the road, head still reeling a bit from what had just happened. She was bleeding from a few odd scrapes on her arms and legs from coming in such harsh contact with the cobblestone. Her elbow felt like it was on -fire-. Her legs were set properly on cobblestone again, and her wobbly legs found purchase. People were starting to gather around and stare. Oh suits. How humiliating
The Selkie though, sounded quite desperate to see to her well being. The fact that she had chewed him out hardly half a second ago put her into a -very- awkward position for sure. She gave a soft, awkward nod at his question to her well being before she hazily looked around, trying to figure out who the hell she tripped over.
Oh.. that blue. How she -hated- that shade of blue. Had the Pine Marten not looked equally mortified over what had happened, she would have had a mind to kick her straight in the face.But... perhaps that was the hormones talking.
But now.. now he was asking if she needed to go to a doctor. She was -not- fond of big city doctors. They always went for the medicine or the scalpel.. but a strange sensation in her belly made her give a gasp. It felt like bubbles... or.. a fluttering. Was... the baby okay? She paled a little. "Y-yes... I would like to see a doctor..."
(Ahaha! I love your girl Esfiel.. and don't take it personally about Zub not liking the color blue. The guy who knocked her up has similar colored hair XD And she hates that guy. The bit about killing a Queen of Clubs made me giggle.. and feel free to tag along with the action. We'll work her in somehow.)
