With a bright smile the Doctor nodded and led the Queen into the examination room. It was a quick and fairly painless checkup, and he cleaned and bandaged her wounds. He reassured her that the baby was growing just fine, and from the looks of things so far he or she was going to be healthy if things continued to go so smoothly. Of course this still left the sparrow and pine martin alone. The sparrow was not amused when the Corvie spoke to him. Was she deaf? Taunting him after they were told not to start anything. His feathers puffed up as he stared down at the creature. Stupid bitch. You know what? He wasn't going to play his game he was going to remain completely and utterly silent. Take that you dumb Corvie. The sparrow was confused by his doctor's sudden departure. He wasn't particularly keen on staring at the wall, so ended up slipping out of the room as the doctor tended to the Queen in the secondary waiting room. With the intention of flirting with the receptionist, he weaseled his way out into the lobby. Only to find his brother with someone. Oh my. What was this? Had he finally recovered and went back to flirting? In a doctor's office so soon? "You two look like a happy little couple," the King commented as he walked into full view. "Who is your girlfriend this time?""She's not my girlfriend. She's a random strange who tripped a Queen of Clubs I happened to randomly open a pickle jar for. She now assumes I'm some moron because she's an all powerful Corvie know it all."Oh. Well. Huh. "Maybe if you used your last name like a normal person she might have more respect for your idiocy?"

Zuberi had never felt such a relief! She'd actually been able to find a smile after this entire ordeal, especially after having it explained to her that what she thought were infant death throes were actually just the 'quickening'... movements of the baby inside of her. She'd probably not noticed them till now because she'd mistaken them for gas.. oh my. She'd not share -that- information with her new, er, acquaintances.
And those two people were the ones she'd nearly forgotten about, but was quickly reminded of when she walked into the room to see a second Selkie sparrow in the room. The tension in the air could have been cut with a knife it was so thick. And they were talking about -her-. Oh, how lovely.
Discreetly, she moved toward the receptionist to quietly take care of her bill. She wasn't going to let dumb and dumber over there quabble over who should pay what when she was very much capable of paying her own way. After all, -they- weren't the people who'd found buried treasure earlier in life.
Well, it was time to break up the cockfight. "Well, you won't have to worry about the bill, I paid it." When it seemed like the sparrow was about to interject... she really didn't want to hear it. She gave him a look through narrowed eyes... and flicked her fingers at him, rendering him mute for 10 seconds. Well.. it was good enough for now.. but who was -this- fellow? Perhaps one of his relatives? There was certainly a resemblance.
"Well! Hello there! The name's Zuberi, the unfortunate wench who took a dive, in the flesh!" She said with a smile. "Are you one of Malchiah's many family members in the Courts?"
Her Human form has allowed her to, once a day, cause someone to fall mute for 10 seconds, by simply flicking her fingers at them.

How rude! she thought furiously. She knew he heard her. She saw his feathers puff up, which she believed to make him look rather funny. That at least made her feel a bit better because she did not think that was what he had been going for. Before she could come up with a way to deal with his silence, however, something very very odd happened.
Another sparrow showed up thinking she was dating the jerk who was ignoring her. She wasn't sure if she should be embarassed, shocked, or insulted. It was probably a mix of them as she stared at the newcomer, trying to figure out if she disliked him, also. For all she knew it was a sparrow thing.
So many things came to mind as she listened to their exchange. Should she correct him on why the Queen tripped over her in the first place? Should she explain that it wasn't an assumption?
"I assure you I already have respect for his idiocy. It's rather hard not to when he has such a degree of it. Quite impression, actually." A beaming smile suddenly appeared on her face when she realized the Queen was back, introducing herself to the second sparrow in a rather horrifying use of words.
Well! At least now she knew both their names. Zuberi and Malchiah. It only figured she had such an exotic and interesting name! She had nothing to say for Malchiah's name, other than that it seemed oddly fitting. Her beaming smile turned into a victorious grin aim straight at him, wondering if he would even get what it was for. Be silent all you want, I still got what I wanted!

Ez's brow raised as he looked down at the Corvie. Uhuh. Someone either had a stick up their ass or didn't have a sense of humor. Maybe both. And they didn't seem to have any sort of manners to speak of.
When Malc when to make a sound of protest he was promptly hushed. Where had his voice gone? What the heck was going on? He sulked quietly.
Ezekiel hardly noticed his brother's issue. He was far more focused on the Queen that walked into the room. Of all the humans he had ever seen none of them had wings like that. Or well. None of them were this weird as far as he knew. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Zuberi, I am one of the many remembers of his family in the Courts. I'm Ezekiel, but most people call me Ez. I'm sorry a stunning lady like yourself had to go through such unfortunate events, I do hope I don't have to discipline my brother for misbehaving in front of a lady."
He hadn't forgotten about the Corvie. He glanced over his shoulder. "And you Madam, what exactly is your name? I generally think it's a good idea to know people who insult my family by name." There wasn't a hint of malice in his voice, nothing but a cheerful sort of chirp escaped him.
Malch was close to tears. Damn, this was so unfair. Why was he being kicked around like this? Why was he taking it?
Small Headband Ability: His eyes are now a brilliant purple, they sparkle in the light and look amazingly enticing and beautiful. Cards ranked 7 or lower will be astounded by the beauty of his eyes and will feel a desperate need to be in his company. Higher ranking Cards might be able to ignore the "pull" he exudes, but they will still feel hints of it.
(( I so totally forgot about his Mary Sue eyes. ))

Oh, Zuberi had reeled into that ability of his from the smart. Of course, she had assumed it was because of some diamond ability. Well, she could hardly judge; her own abilities created an allure that many people felt pulled into. Now.. this man. Her gaze dropped to his rank to confirm it. Yes... he'd probably not sense that ability, though she hardly minded that. Most people of high rank and high position knew how to be 'politic' around others regardless of mutation.
Immediately though, she found herself going to Malchiah's defense, regardless of the fact that she had a feeling she'd rather stare into those charming purple eyes. "Now now... It was I who fell over on me face, even if I had a bit of help." Her gaze cut across to the pine marten.. but there was at least a smile on her face. In retrospect, it was almost amusing.
"In fact, he was so gallant as to carry me here himself! I cann'a say that deserves punishment." She turned to look at the silent sparrow, feeling a shade of guilt when she saw the look on his face. "Won't be but a few seconds. I just couldn't have you interruptin' me while I was introducing myself. Or refuting me decisions for that matter." She gave him a small pat on the arm.

Oh damn, maybe she went too far. Aima had to admit she wasn't usually that mean to people, but.. No, she wouldn't make excuses for herself. She'd own up to it, and maybe be a bit more careful in the future. Making enemies with one person was one thing, but with his whole family, especially when they all seemed to be in court, was quite another. Should she apologize?
Zuberi wasn't mad at him. In fact, she seemed to find the whole thing rather amusing. The little marten put her in higher esteem already for being so good natured about the whole incident. Maybe if she wasn't mad at both of them, she didn't have to dislike him so much. Although something about Malchiah still irked her, so she decided that awhile she wouldn't be outright rude to him, she didn't have to be completely nice, either.
At least those were her thoughts until she looked Ezekiel in the eyes to reply. She usually looked people in the eyes when she talked to him, but never to experience such an odd sensation! What beautiful purple eyes! Oh, but Zuberi had such curious eyes, though maybe not as wonder--no! What was she thinking? Her gaze shot between the sparrow and Queen. Who..? Both. They could BOTH be exquisite. Yes, that was it.
She should probably reply now. Aima looked back at his purple eyes. She didn't want him to dislike her, and she didn't have to dislike him. He wasn't his brother, after all. Be nice! she reminded herself. An apology was probably in order. "Erm..." Well, that didn't go as planned. Try again. "I'm Aima." The apology she would have to work on.
((If Zuberi and Ezekiel were to split up right now I'm pretty sure Aima would probably have a heart attack or something. XD And sorry about the delay. I came home really late last night and couldn't think up a post to save my life.))

Goodness. Things were shaping up to be interesting. The diamond glanced at his brother with a curious expression. He honestly carried the woman here? Punishment would be with held then.
Malch was happy that the silence would only last ten seconds. He gave a small nod at the Queen, his expression still like that of a kicked puppy. Today was not a good day, but at the very least the Queen wasn't going to kick his ass. That was a huge improvement.
At the belated introduction of the pine martin, Malch continued to remain relatively silent, even after the spell had worn off. He didn't want to deal with her, not in the slightest.
Ez grinned as he remembered his eyes. Oh yeah, that was going to make things far easier, wasn't it? "It's nice to meet you Aima."
Someone cleared their throat from behind the sparrow in pink. He half jumped as he craned his neck to see who wanted his attention. Oh right. The doctor. He gave a sheepish grin as he turned around to address the man. There were a few hushed whispers before Ez just turned over his payment and went back to paying attention to the group.
"So, I think we've over stayed our welcome. Would you ladies like to have some lunch with me and my brother?"
Malch expression changed from kicked puppy to surprise.

Zuberi frowned a bit at the whispering. One would think that they'd be able to keep their gossip to themselves until they actually left the establishment! Her sour expression immediately lifted at the sparrow's invitation. Well! That was the sort of reception she'd been wanting all day. Mustering up all of her pride, she smiled and regarded the two brothers with a flicker of amusement.
"Ay-ye. Sounds like a plan! It will give me a chance to get to know my 'attackers' in a more positive light." Regardless of her potentially biting words, they held no scorn, and she laughed, sure to pass both Malch and Aima a kind look so that they didn't take her seriously. It was unlikely that pine marten would pay her much mind though; whatever magic that was exhibiting a pull on Zuberi seemed to have Aima absolutely besotted. Shame on the sparrow!

Ladies? That was plural. Oh! She was invited! Wait, would she have to pay for herself? Come on! You're not normally this slow, she scolded herself. He was inviting them, so it was unlikely she'd have to pay. Ah ha! She was thinking. For a moment her thoughts flickered off on a normal train of thought. Maybe he would make Malchiah pay... His expression would no doubt be priceless at the thought of spending money on her.
Aima couldn't think long on Malchiah's misfortune, though, because she was just too happy that Ezekiel had invited her along! Even better, Zuberi was coming too! Though she couldn't exactly remember her exact words. She almost felt guilty about not giving Zuberi the attention she deserved, but there was just something about Ez. It was like he had a pull on her that she couldn't see. And his eyes! If only his brother was as wonderful as he was, or as kind, or as thoughtful.
"Oh, I'd be thrilled to eat lunch with you and Zuberi!" she exclaimed. Then she remembered Malchiah and that they were family. She didn't want to insult him (Ez not Malchiah) so added, "And Malchiah." Aima was quite proud that it didn't sound forced, even if it was delayed.

Malchiah continued to look at his brother with surprise. His face only growing more confused as he listened to each of the women respond. What was it about his corset wearing brother that managed to succeed where he failed? He would have questioned it at the moment, but there were people around, and he didn't want to mess things up while they were going so well. "I imagine we're going to the Rain Cafe today?"
Ezekiel brightened slightly when the women accepted his offer. It must have been his lucky day. "That's fantastic!" he said cheerily as he clapped his hands together. "It's not every day I get a chance to spend it with two beautiful ladies, attacks or no."
He turned back to his brother, "Yes, the Rain Cafe is the closest place. And we'd only want the best for company. Now would you be a gentlemen and grab the door?" He motioned for his brother to go first, a cheerfully and sociable smile still on his beak.
The Cafe was only a five minute walk, but that still gave them time to socialize. And of course, the sparrow in bright pink had every intention of being sociable.
