Red. It was everywhere. Like the pain that had begun to spread forth from her midsection, it consumed everything. It dripped down her hands, splattered her fur, and now it filled her vision in more ways than just the metaphorical. Something had snapped long ago and those little bursts of clarity and sanity seemed to have faded away entirely. Even the weapon's voice seemed to have gone silent, nothing more than a muffled frustration just out of hearing range. She stepped out of the alley, into the light. It stung her blood-saturated eyes and a low hiss drew itself out from between clenched teeth. But oh, she wasn't alone? Narrowed eyes turned to the small group gathered nearby, consisting of two odd children, two equally unusual strangers, and a freakish floating poodle. Disturbing collection. Then the mouse with the strange arm shifted and she saw the black the of spade against his paler fur and a wide, utterly delirious smile spread across her dark muzzle. Suddenly a bone-handled rapier was in her hand, all but jerking the strange red-eyed woman toward the mouse. Mephit didn't resist the weapon's furious pull, but lunged into it with the serrated edge of the blade aiming for the mouse's legs. (Mephit rolled 11 for her initial attack.<3)King's Ability: At will she is now able to summon a thin, bone handled rapier from her heart marking and wield it as though it were a part of her body. The rapier has a few small razor notches at the end of the blade that dig into and pull flesh backwards as it is withdrawn. This blade will automatically unsummon itself against other Hearts, refusing to injure them.Weapon Sentience: The weapon is now able to direct itself separately from its masters muscle pull. It still needs to be held in order to be used, but it will avoid innocent parties to a fight unless provoked and will never strike a Heart. The blade likes to aim for thigh muscles and pull at the with its serrated edges to disable an opponent, making it into what one might call a signature move. For some reason, it appears to loathe Yarrows, Bog dwellers, and Spades, and a Yarrow or a Bog Spade is just the ultimate insult to injury in its presence. If it espies or senses any of these monstrosities nearby, it very well may leap to its summoners hand and begin attacking unprovoked...

Ichigo was trying to take things step by step. "Inside sounds like a plan at least. Hopefully someone will react to a floating poodle," he said quietly. He slowly put himself between the sound that he swore was coming from the alley and the small group that was forming. He was, after all, a protector, and if anything happened to the people he was with he could never forgive himself.
He never expected someone he knew to come out of the alleyway. It took him a moment to recognize the King, a former employer of his bodyguard services. Suits, she looked horrible and--
"Get inside now!" he shouted as he jumped forward and drew his sword in the same motion. He truly hope that Thyme was on the ball enough to close her eyes, he didn't have a proper time for a warning. The deer had lunged before he shouted. She could get the girls and the poodle and run inside. His familiar disappeared from sight.
Hopefully the blinding light would be enough of a distraction for the King. He thrust his sword in a counter attack, attempting purely to deflect the woman's blade into the ground.
( Ichigo rolled a 14 for counter <3 )
Shining Katana: This thin bladed sword is light-weight and exceedingly easy to wield for the owner. When thrust toward an opponent it gives off sparks of neon yellow light that will blind all but the wielder for a full ten minutes. When anyone other than the blades determined owner tries to touch the sword, they will feel as though electricity is shooting through their bodies until they let go.

(Thyme rolled a 3 for initial reflexes and response to Ichigo.)
As the source of the noise slowly emerged from the alley, Thyme stared in shock at a King of Hearts. She knew the rest of the nobility by name and picture, whether or not she had ever met them in person. It was only good politics to be able to recognize her peers. But this... what had happened to the woman?!
Her shock at the King's state, from the crazed madness in her bloody eyes to the misshapen midsection, was great enough to momentarily freeze her. Unfortunately, she was stuck staring at the Corvie mix, which in turn meant that she was staring directly in the direction of Ichigo's sword as he unsheathed the magical blade. She jerked in shock and her eyes snapped close on instinct, but it was far too late. Crying out in surprise, she stumbled back and grasped at the nearby wall to stop herself from falling.
Inside her head, Gred yelled in surprise and anger, and then pushed at her consciousness. Her own reactions had overcome his natural tendencies and he needed her to get back on the ball, please kay thanks!

(15 for luck of not being blinded. XD
Also, dropping the style for now for the sake of keeping things moving. Makenna’s style is rather hard to write in most of the time. >> Apologies in advanced for the crappy post.)
“Her name is Heilyn, she is a Majesty. I don’t know how long she has been gone. It’s been since just before the fog...”
The girl ignored the swearing, having encountered far worse from her own mother on a daily basis. No, she was far more concerned with the fact that there was a floating, unconscious body of a Card in front of them. A moment of hope swelled when she saw a familiar face.
“Highness Mephitisia!” she called out, her bright smile fading immediately when the woman’s appearance was finally realized. She recoiled, her hand curling over her mask. Her eyes went wide. What...
A weapon was suddenly in her hand and she attacked the Mouse. Blind reaction caused her to cover her eyes with her hands, which in turn caused her to miss the blinding flash of light. The sound of Thyme’s cry made her turn and uncover her eyes. Makenna stood, shaking with fear. She had only met Mephit a handful of times. However, a familiar face was a familiar face. Why was she doing this? What was wrong with her?

Mephit heard nothing. Cries of recognition fell upon deaf ears, blood-blinded eyes saw nothing but the Spade on the gray chest and the sword slashed at it violently and then there was another sword and light. Mephit let out a horrified shriek as her stinging eyes were further assaulted but it didn't seem to slow the King at all.
The swords clashed with all of Mephit's force behind her rapier, causing a metallic shriek to ring through the air long after her own faded from it. Unable to correct the angle of the attack, her weapon did exactly as Ichigo planned and crashed into the ground. (rolled a 6 for the initial attack)
Mephit jerked back, utterly blind but full of rage, and unsummoned her weapon. A cold bark of laughter rumbled bizarrely from her chest as the weapon reappeared in her hand once more and drove her forward with disturbing intent. The doe obeyed the pull of her weapon unerringly, trusting it to find the prey they were seeking as it slashed furiously at the mouse. (14 for the counter)

Ichigo didn't glance back behind him, he had to focus on the fact that someone was trying to kill him. The blade was deflected, thankfully, giving him time to recover and pull a bit away from the group. He didn't want them getting caught in the fight.
But of course she had a summonable weapon, and of course she was able to call it back to her hand with very little effort. The mouse mentally cursed the entire suit for having an unfair advantage on the battle field, but he did have the small advantage of sight.
Thinking fast on his feet the mouse stood on his back legs, and used his icy arm to block the weapon. (rolled a 20) The sound it made was something awful, his body shuddering in protest as he flipped around his sword to the flat side. The woman was still a noble. He didn't want to cause an incident. He swung the blade towards her knee's hoping to take them out from under her. (... rolled a 19)
He just prayed everyone would stay out of the way.

(Rolled a 7. Mephit you suck. XD)
Clang! Mephit's violent assault collided with something strange, definitely not the edge of another blade or the delicate flesh of a card, and the weapon was sent flying again. The bloated doe gave another furious shriek, frustrated by her inability to destroy the offending Spade, and was about to summon the rapier back into her hand when her forward motion was abruptly thrown off by the sudden appearance of a sword at her shins.
The flat-side saved her from a rather bloody collision, but it was more than enough to not only throw her off guard but completely destroy her awkward balance. The sudden tumble was sickening and her entire body protested but Mephit put her all into that fall. She may be going down, but she would make the blasted Spade suffer for it!
(Rolled a 9) Flailing wildly, she aims to grab the mouse by whatever appendage available, and activates a number of abilities at once in hopes of throwing him off balance with her. She doesn't know his rank, doesn't care. Something will hit, something will hurt. She claws and snaps with the hand that isn't grabbing and all the while a thin trickle of blood has begun to seep out of her mouth, dripping down long white fangs that seem to be hellbent on latching onto flesh.
Small Ability: Her eyes are incredibly captivating, staring into them can cause Cards ranked 8 and below to feel very, very afraid.
Amazing Ability: Once a week, she is now able to see into people's pasts. Not just the present one either, she is now able to tell if a person has been reincarnated (only about one out of every 50 will be). If they have been, she is able to read up on what and who they were simply by looking at them, and can by touching them reawaken a sense of the old self in them, this is enough to drive Cards ranked 5 or lower completely mad. This ability can be used to show another person their past life in small flashes that may give them odd memories they shouldn't have...if points were added maybe it could actually reawaken the old soul...

The woman on the ground needed to get up. She was of high rank and had a sword! She HAD to help the little Mouse! Her Highness has clearly gone mad and needed to be stopped!"Please! Can you hear me? You need to get up and help him! She--" The world blocked out by closed eyes and tiny pin pricks of claws poked at the delicate skin over the skull. The violence so close was frightening.Brass. The brass trim decorating the outside of the bar... perfect. It wasn't too far of a run, delicate lungs would not hurt. Seconds later, a tinkle of claws on metal."MEPHITISIA! Stop this at once! Your actions! You will shame the court and your title if you continue on in this manner! Stop this immediately!" The words were echoed from the dialogue of some history book... or fiction. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference. The words were a favorite to bark at young siblings, even if they had no title. Charmed Ring This tiny ring doesn't look as though it would fit on anyone but a rodent. Brass, slightly bent, and a little green with mislaid care, it doesn't even shine. When held, it tingles slightly and the owner will watch as it slowly dissolves. The SD will now, once a week, be able to cause any brass surface to act as a sounding mirror, allowing them to communicate with one person anywhere they desire for a full five minutes. Their communication will be in the other person's mind, while the caster will be able to see a little bit of the person's face in the brass surface.(17 for Intelligence. There's my smart little girl.)

Ichigo didn't expect her to fall forward. He was hoping that her awkward balance would throw her in the opposite direction. Ichigo let out a surprised squeak as he tried to get out from under her.
He didn't quite make it, and the King made it a point of being a cruel sadistic bitch with the simple action of falling and biting him. He would have reasoned that it was only his right leg. Except the woman had snake fangs and it hurt like hell despite the large amount of adrenaline pumping through his veins. He shrieked, though coming from a mouse it was nothing more than a terrified squeak as he used the flat part of his sword to smack the woman away and get himself loose.
She managed to pull a good chunk of his fur out in the process, and he honestly felt like a part of his leg was missing as well. Oh no, did she have poison fangs? His panic welled up as he tried to pull himself together. He continued to keep his sword ready just in case the woman tried to lunge at him again. He failed to notice the spell Mephit had cast when she had kindly pulled a chunk of his fur out.
