The mouse was flailing, she'd gotten flesh. Heard him squeak with pain. A kick to the nose allowed the mouse to squirm free rather quickly but that didn't matter. Mephit got a chunk of fur and flesh and the deep satisfaction that her poison would quickly be taking effect. He was still near, Mephit's hands flung out to capture the mouse and attempt another bite. Something vital this time maybe?! -- but then a voice split through her thoughts and she recoiled suddenly.
Insanity had long ago dulled the weapon's voice to her. It had been nothing but frustration and logic and Mephit hadn't wanted to hear it. So she didn't. Maybe the weapon had even learned to shut up. Whatever the case, it wasn't the weapon that shouted through her thoughts now but a child. It was alien, wrong, and Mephit screamed wildly as she clutched at her head.
"GET OUT! GET OUT!"
Wild-eyed, blood dripping from her mouth and the corner of her eyes, Mephit managed to shoot blindly to her feet but the movement filled her with a terrible vertigo. She trembled on her feet, disoriented and confused, but suddenly the weapon was there and she jerked forward. "Nothing can stop me from killing you, little mouse! Not even your mind games!!!" Her words were a sustained shriek, warped so by insanity and pain that they no longer seemed human.
(Rolled a 5 for her attack.) Though the weapon pulled with all of its single-minded fury, the doe's ailments were quickly catching up to her. The strange bloating, the pain of falling, the awkwardness of being blind. It was all crashing down upon her and even her pain ability couldn't numb it enough to make the last rush to run the mouse through a smooth one. She staggered on her hooves, slowed but persistent.

Ichigo started losing feeling in his leg. Apparently it was poison. Fast acting poison. He had to remain calm even though he couldn't feel his leg. The woman was screaming bloody murder and had obviously gone mad. Even without her sight she was capable of quite a bit of damage and he wasn't capable of properly standing.
He couldn't even properly drag himself away without dropping his sword, and he wasn't about to do that. The deer's blade grazed him, drawing blood above the damaged part of his leg. (rolled 9) He bit down on his tongue to remain silent, twisting his sword under the summoned one. (rolled 15)
And then he activated his Spade water ability. (rolled 14) Hopefully it would be enough of a distraction to make her drop the sword again. Hearts and their blasted summonable weapons made things difficult, but she looked like she was near done. He prayed she was near done.
Strong Magical Ability: When activated, he can create one gallon of drinking water up to two times per day.

No!
What was going on?!
The world suddenly exploded in anger and fear and shouting as one of the Hearts Kings - one Daddy was fond of, she knew - appeared on the scene, going in to attack the man who was going to help them find Grandmama Heilyn! Adrienne let out a terrified chirp, hitting the ground hard, all of her fur and feathers standing on-end as she hid her eyes, too afraid to look up. That had the benefit of protecting her against the flash, but there wasn't anything she could do to help - there was no way she was going to get involved!!
She pressed herself back against Makenna, whimpering with terror, eyes rolling in her head. "K-Kenna! What do we do?!" If Grandmama was here, she would stop the fighting! It would be so easy for her... But they were just children, and while her "aunt" could speak brave words, when it came to an actual fight... Oh, she didn't want to die!

It took a moment for Thyme's dazed senses to regain some semblance of focus. In that time, unfortunately, a great many things could happen in the blink of an eye. The wrongness of the smell, of Mephitisia, assaulted her nose and the receptors on her tail. She heard the children shouting, heard noises of the battle and hand, heard a young voice very close to her...
Up. She needed to get up, needed to help. She couldn't see, but Gred could act regardless. He didn't need her to fight, as he so scathingly informed her now. He just needed her to stand. To move! NOW!
(Rolled a 20. Schweet.)
With a gasp, she staggered back up to her feet. The rapier shot out in front of her like a silver flash, skillfully dodging the children she couldn't see and the mouse tangled in combat. Its aim led it straight for the insane King, done with playing, dragging the summoner along behind it like a staggering toy.
Sword Boost: The sword is now capable of sentient thought. It will constantly be able to poke its way into its summoner's thoughts and interject whatever it thinks instead. The sword now identifies himself as male and is quite a joker and trickster. He will whine and complain for a name until given one and often asks where his brother has gone. He is capable of swinging around people not directly involved in a fight, even if the maneuver would be beyond his master. His reflexes are also lightning fast and he can only be dodged by those with magical abilities geared toward moving quickly.

((Thyme's swipe was an amazing one! Mephit's left arm spins off to the side, oozing blood as it flies and spraying the child Makenna in the face. Mephit's own weapon was flung out of her grip, missing Ichigo entirely and hitting Thyme directly on and through her left shoulder. Fueled by rage, it leaps back into the Doe's hand almost at once, tearing out a large chunk of flesh as it went.))

(Rolled a 1 to her reaction) Out of nowhere a wall of water collided with the blind deer's face and, with a gurgling gasp, she jerked back away from the mouse and (hopefully) out of the stream of water. Blind and half-drowned, after a battle with almost little to no interruption in her pursuit of the mouse, Mephit wasn't at all expecting the other blade to appear out of nowhere and cleanly lop off her arm.
She screamed and immediately activated her pain ability, it didn't help much but it dulled the edge of agony enough to keep moving. Meanwhile, the sentient blade had been flung out of her grip but Mephit knew when it found their target. (Rolled a 7 for her reaction and a 4 for her spell's effectiveness) Mephit hissed with satisfaction and flung her pain spell at the new assailant -- even if it was another King or even a Queen, it should give her enough time to take out her prey. In an instant the blade had ripped free, returned to her remaining hand, and resumed their attack with renewed fury.
With passionate rage driving the rapier, it plunges after Ichigo with single-minded intensity slashing and tearing at anything it can catch with those serrated edges. (Rolled a 13 for her attack)
Basic Magical Ability: She can ignore moderate amounts of pain for up to an hour.
(Thyme) Strong Magical Ability: When activated, she can inflict mental pain on another card of any suit, once per day. The pain feels like a nail slowly being driven through the other's spine near the skull. Her pain can now knock out another card for one hour, though Queens and some Kings may be able to withstand it.

Ichigo watched in mild horror as he had no time to react to Thyme's sudden appearance and the cascading events that followed. The water at least partly did its job, distracting the Doe long enough for Thyme to get a fantastic hit in.
However she suffered for it, it seemed, an shout escaped him as he watched the doe's sword pass through the wolf's shoulder. "No! Thyme!" He cursed himself as he stumbled to get moving. His back leg refused to work and was only dead weight.
He was capable of forcing himself to stand despite everything. It was an uncomfortable balancing act as he prepared himself for an attack, though of course he didn't have time to execute the action as the the Doe came towards him still fueled by insanity and her summonable sword.
He wasn't capable of blocking the attack, apparently his luck and run out as the sword hit his thigh, far above the bite wound and into the part of the leg that he was still capable of feeling. He could feel his balance slipping as the weapon sliced through his leg. His words were caught in his throat as he tried to think through the pain.
(Rolled a 17 to get him up, a 12 for reaction time. 6 for a defense against Mephit's attack))

Thyme felt the impact of the weapon, shearing through flesh and bone, even before she heard the sudden spray of fluid and the sound of a limb hitting the ground. Gred took a few seconds to toot his own horn and congratulate himself on a rousing performance until their connection was disturbed by the sudden, intense, and unseen searing pain of a blade slicing through her shoulder. She screamed, the sound ripped out of her without any conscious thought, and the noise increased in pitch as the weapon then removed itself the same way it had come. It also removed a hunk of her shoulder in the process and sprayed blood across the ground. Shoulder wounds were some of the worst for bleeding.
Without more than a moment to try not to pass out from that pain - and she would have sold a part of her soul for the Heart pain relief just then - another sensation made itself known. More to the point, someone began to drive a sharp object into her spine. She had no idea whether this was real or magic, or magically real, and she howled in absolute agony. Her concentration was shattered and she couldn't have used an ability if she'd tried.
(Rolled a 1 for her reaction. Eff. This is why we don't fight Hearts, boys and girls. *GIGGLE*)
Gasping for air, bleeding profusely the more she panicked, the hand that she could still easily move flew up to the back of her head to clutch at the hideous pain that only seemed to increase in intensity. Words weren't coming, just gasps and incoherent screams. Then she collapsed in a dead faint.

Riiiipp. The serrated edge of the blade caught flesh and Mephit yanked back in a brutal response. She'd rend him to pieces, bit by bit, whatever she could catch!
Nearby, screams tore through the darkness. Apparently her attacker had been a King or Queen, for she sustained such beautiful notes of torment that she must have been able to fight off the immediate descent into unconsciousness. Her voice was music to Mephit's ears, bleeding out of the darkness to soothe her pain and fury.
Not that either actually subsided, but now she was laughing demonically even as she barreled in for another violent strike against the mouse. (Rolled a 6) She lunges on clumsy hooves, driving the blade forward with all the blind fury she can gather. Her aim is to impale, but if the weapon gets another chance to rend through the rodents uninjured leg, it will gladly do so.

And there went the chunk of his leg. He didn't dwell on it, however, because the deer was determined to take his head and the mouse wasn't planning on dying. Especially considering he had to patch up Thyme, because there was no way in hell he was letting her die on his watch.
Sword still in hand he managed to half roll out of the way of the deer's next attack (rolled a 16). He readied himself to make an attack of his own, but his hand slipped. Perhaps it was from the loss of blood, or perhaps it was a fluke of nature, but the seasoned swordman's blade slipped out of his hand when he made a sweeping motion to aim at the deers legs. (rolled a 1).
At least he didn't have time to be embarrassed, since the important people were blind and he was too worried about dying. He summoned Orihime, praying that he wouldn't have to verbally issue a command and just point with his iced hand.
The terrified Mome chittered for a moment before ran straight for the deers legs. It was utterly terrified and started secreting a sticky substance. (Rolled a 17, take that as you will.)
Powerful Magical Ability: When activated, he can call forth and dismiss a small familiar that is unique to the individual.
Orihime's Mome Ability: She has very thin, fine fur that is incredibly silky to the touch. Once a week, she can secrete a sticky substance that causes everyone but her summoner to break out in horrific hives that cause the affected area to swell to twice the size. It will reduce slowly over the course of an hour.
