Davy snirked just a touch at what the weapon woman said, but was keen on keeping his snickering at a relatively low level as he made his way back to the beds to look under them. "Don't worry too much about it. It's a bit of a hellish situation."
His fur stood on end when the door was opened, glancing over his shoulder to see just what the hell caused that chill. "Wind, I guess it was." The young man mumbled, smoothing his fur down before crouching under one of the beds to look for something useful. Well.. he hoped it was just the wind, anyways. An uneasy feeling in his gut made him think that perhaps it was something more sinister. Still, he didn't need to panic just yet. First, he'd search under all of the beds to look for something useful. (7, 15, and 1 for searching under all three beds)
At the sound of the girl's sudden cry, he knocked his head under one of the beds. Ouch!

The door swung open, and Xiven was greeted by the child she was worried about. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw her. Who had done this--who needed to die for upsetting her baby and kidnapping them? The chill hit her for a brief moment, making the hair on the back of her neck stand on end while she was putting her weapon down for Vir's sake.
"Vir!" Xiven said as she tightly hugged the clinging kitten. Her brow creased with worry as the girl coughed. Her baby... no... "It's all right sweetie we can get you a new mask later. Right now we need to get out of here. Do you remember how you got here?"
Emeraude shrugged off the boy's comment, he was, after all, a Club and anything he said was taken with a grain of salt. When the door opened the cyclone shuddered at the wind. But there wasn't just wind, there was Vir as well... so she must have heard breathing? Herm.
Slipping past mother and child she went to investigate the room that Vir had been in. She wasn't fond of the child, so Xiven could handle the poor sickly girl while she checked things out. The first thing would be to check the layout of the room, then check the floor boards and walls for any suspicious looking trap doors or what have you. A room so plain could easily be hiding things.

Bailee paused when the lock on the chest didn't give. Instead her arm tingled in the weirdest sort of way, not to mention that the needle went in far further than it should have. Magic lock it was then.
She eyed the beds for a moment, setting her her syringe down for a moment so she could collect the sheets. The chill hit her as she was pulling the bedding off and tearing a strip of it off. She did her best to ignore it, but had to stop to shudder. This place was bad, she'd keep that in mind.
The canine returned to the chest, snapping the tip off of her syringe, with a good deal of effort she tied the torn strip of bedding the syringe tip. This way she could see how far the lock went, and how magical it potentially was. Making sure everything was secure she started shoving the needle tip into the lock and attempted to feed the cloth through.
Bailee ignored the world around her as she focused on the task at hand.

Bailee's odd contraption took about four feet worth of sheets before seeming to become jammed. Not only would the sheets not continue in, but they would not come back out. Davy managed to locate what looks to be a pile of completely empty boxes (his 1, be careful), absolutely nothing, and a trap door! Excellent! Now, if only it wasn't locked...still, the padlock on it seems normal enough.
The room that contained Vir has nothing but an old, washed out portrait on the wall, the paint's run a bit and unless scrutinized, it's very difficult to make out (you could roll to try). There are no doors or windows in this room, in fact; it looks like a converted closet.

That lock was entirely too deep. The canine stared at the small amount of fabric that was left, yanking on it with her teeth in hopes that it would budge. No. Now what? How could she removed the stupid piece of fabric....
Fire. Fire would certainly remove it. All she needed was a spark. How could she mark a spark? There were bed sheets left to catch a spark, but how to make it. Lens, Flint and steel, and wood friction were the easiest ways to do so without a match. There were the bed posts, there were the left over chains, she still had her syringes, there was the weapon that the Queen had placed on the floor.
She eyed the chain links. They were probably iron, and her syringes were made of steel. It was worth a shot, otherwise she could ask for help. Not like she wanted to... but she really wanted to open this box.
Pulling out her other syringe she started to strike it against a chain link, hoping that it would spark enough to ignite a bit of cloth.
--
Emeraude just grew more uncomfortable as she investigate the room. There didn't seem to be any reason for wind to come out of this room. It looked relatively sealed. Probably used for storage... though there was a picture on the wall.
The green haired woman leaned forward to inspect the washed out image. Maybe it was the former owner of the place? Was this room a tiny shrine? Did it really matter.
(Bailee rolled a 19 for determination, she wants in that box. Emeraude rolled a 15 for inspecting. Xiven will come in a later post.)

Davy surely failed terribly at searching under one of the beds, but regardless of his complete fairness, he had no reason to believe his searching skills were anything short of awesome. So, when he found the trap door, one could bet he felt pretty damn proud of himself. Perhaps it was his own little hubris, but he'd probably not go and recheck that area unless given a reason. "Bah… nothing under that one but a bunch of useless empty boxes. But hey… Em'rade… Emer…. Em? Care to take some of that lockpicking over here for a bit? It seems we have a trap door under here."
Hell yeah. He'd found it, too. He definitely walked with a touch more swagger as he came back to hover over Em's shoulder. Damn, she looked like she could break him in half. She'd probably be a hell of a deckhand on a ship. "You know, I sure feel a little safer with you about. If we watch each other's backs, I bet we can get out of this pickle. We got our club awesome, and then Her Majesty Xiven, not only with her Queenly goodness but now revved up with the power of maternal love, we can kick some ass, eh?"

Bailee looked up from trying the impossible when she seemed to have been addressed. She followed the source of the voice--oh yes--people were here! And there was another lock to be picked?
Her brow rose a bit as the young man spoke to her. (He had a beard, he must have been past puberty right? Maybe it would be safe to hit on him when they were out of this mess. He was terribly cute with that accent and all. "Consider your back had then," she winked. "And yes, as long as we stay out of the line of fire I'm sure having the Queen of Hearts on our side we'll be an unstoppable force. Mothers are the most frightening enemy. Anyway, if you have anything that can start a fire, could you use it on that cloth while I go and pick the lock? That lock took in four feet worth of fabric and I can't get it out. And so help me I will open that chest."
The canine, with a syringe in her mouth, padded over to the where the chipmunk had originated from and attempted to pick the lock.
(Rolled a 12 for lock picking.)

The coughing fit took some time to fade again, Vir's panic making her lungs seize even worse than normal. It couldn't have been helped by the absence of her mask, regardless of what she had been told by doctors in the past. She was just... so tired, and every part of her hurt. Being enfolded in the protection of her mother's arm only made her that much more acutely aware of exactly how low she was currently feeling, and she took advantage of the comfort for just a minute longer than she would have otherwise liked to do, had the circumstances been slightly different.
Then, sniffling slightly and letting out a wheezing breath, feeling it rattle in her ribs, Virtute detached herself from her mother's side. It was good that the Queen was present - in her weakened state, the kitten felt all but useless.
Slowly, she shifted on her paws, looking at the floor as she desperately tried to remember. Nothing came to mind. She - she had thoughts of traveling, perhaps to visit another doctor who had a new set of theories, but... The memories were hazed. "I don't," she finally said, voice thick with guilt that she just couldn't recall. "I just woke up in here, and... Mom, I hurt," That was the worst of it. She looked around the room she was in, ears folding back against her skull as she did. There was something on the wall... She narrowed her eyes, staring at it and willing the shapes to make sense. Perhaps it would hold some clue as to her entrapment?

A soft 'ticking' sound began to echo gently down the length of the room...it seems to be coming from under one of the beds! Too bad only Davy managed to hear it...
Emeraude managed to find a tiny, silver trowel...it doesn't look too special, but it did tingle a bit when touched...ought to pocket that, I think. Bailee's chain managed to make a spark and the cloth is smoldering extremely slowly up toward the lock. Safe to go inspect other things while it edges its way up there.
Squeezing the Canine's front half under the bed finally allowed her to hear the faint ticking as well. A soft 'click' let her know her lock-picking on the trapdoor has succeeded...does she really want to open it?

Bailee's ears perked when she popped the lock, her tail wagging triumphantly. Then she realized she was still hearing an a mysterious ticking sound. A ticking sound? Oh suits, that could be just about anything. And considering they were locked in a room by someone it could easily be some sort of defense mechanism if they opened the door. That was probably why it was locked on the inside.
The canine pulled herself out out from under the bed a grim look on her face as she sniffed the surrounding area. Maybe she could pick up something? (Rolled a 17) If it was an explosive then there was a chance, if it was magic she doubted anything would come of sniffing about.
When she was satisfied she returned to the chest. Damn it was going to take forever to get this thing open. Grrr.. She set down the syringe so she could talk without sounding like an idiot. "So I picked the lock on the trap door, however, there may be an odd ticking sound coming from it. I'm not sure if it's safe to open. We should probably search for other ways to get out of here... Unless someone wants to risk opening the door."
---
Xiven frowned at her daughter's answer. There was a vain hope that her daughter would remember something more, but she must have been in the same situation as they were. Oh suits her poor baby was hurting. "I'm sorry.... we'll get whoever is responsible for this, even if I have to go to the end of the world to punish them." She gave her daughter a brief kiss on the forehead before getting up and collecting her weapon. They needed to get out of here, and hopefully the others were already on the case. When she turned around that did seem to be what was happening.... was something on fire over there?
Her attention was grabbed by what the lowest ranking individual had to say. Ticking? That sounded ominous. "If we can't find another way out I can probably open the door from a distance, I have my axe and something that can grow to seven feet long."
Emeraude and successfully found an odd little something. She inspected it for a moment, noting the odd tingly feeling, and then stuffed it in one of her vest pockets. Xiven could inspect it later when she wasn't being so motherly to the sickly child. The green haired woman slipped back out of the former closet to join the rest of the group. Her brow raised over the announcement.
Oh she didn't like this news at all. She decided to take another look around the rooms to scan for anything that could be a way out. (11)

Davy paused when he heard the ticket. It really was a most obnoxious sound… something that only half caught his attention and had to make him pause to make sure he'd actually heard it. His chipmunk tail bristled slightly before moving toward the noise.
Was it.. under the trap door? He frowned. It really… really was kind of tempting. "What if there's something of use under there? Or perhaps a secret weapon we could use." But he too felt a certain trepidation. He moved closer and put his ear to the trap door, attempting to listen so he could discern just what sort of ticking it was. (9)
