That was a good assumption. After all, Virture wanted nothing more than to get out of here. She didn't really care where they went, so long as it was safe and warm and familiar. She pressed herself against her mother's leg and took a deep breath, willing herself to stay calm even through the horribly unfiltered air filling her lungs. The pain that shot through her leg with every step really wasn't helping her, and neither was the giant black hole in her memory.
They had to get out of here. They had to.
The Midori boy's words made her pause, ears flattening against her skull. She supposed she'd known that death was a possibility, in the wake of that horrible explosion, but having it actually voiced made her quake horribly. "What if that wasn't the only trap?" she blurted out, staring wide-eyed at the boy. "I-I bet that means it is the way out... They clearly don't want us to leave..."

Bailee paused in front of the trap door, her ears perked. She hadn't thought about actually getting monetary compensation for this miniature nightmare. "Valuables huh? I have no problem with sharing. Hopefully though there aren't any more ridiculous locks to try to pick, I only have a limited supply of syringes."
With that said she poked her head through the trap door, giving up on being cautious. Hopefully it wasn't a long way down or anything. It wasn't like they had any sheets to tie together since everything had caught fire.
Xiven didn't exactly have a need for monetary things, but she wasn't about to refuse. "Sounds like a plan," she said. Honestly she just wanted to punish the bastards who locked her and her daughter up here. Though.... an explosion that loud should have alerted anyone of their potential escape.
She clutched her weapon tightly. Her daughter bringing up a remarkably good point. And the dog had just shoved her head down a trap door. Of course the likely hood of another trap being on the same door was slim. She gave her daughter a light reassuring pat on the shoulder.
Emeraude raised an eyebrow at the obvious statement. Someone was having a bit too much fun, of course he didn't look like he had gotten even a scratch. She refrained from sighing as she watched the dog at the door.
Wouldn't it be funny if the Corvie Club fell in?

The trapdoor now cleared of smoke, Bailee was able to see what looked like the crumbled and burnt remains of a staircase and a 30 foot drop down to a few floors below. Though dark, she could make out chairs and a desk, as well as some windows. A 30 foot drop would kill most people, but maybe if someone less-killable were dropped down, they could find something else to get everyone down? Pfft, who knows, maybe you should just throw the kid down there, or maybe the little punk with the wings.
Either way, the hole in the wall looks as forbidding as ever. Vir can hear...what sounds almost like a faint scrabbling coming from it. Bailee can smell something, almost a bit like tree sap, coming from the hole when she pulls her head from the trap door.

Nothing could ever be easy right? Bailee sighed as she stared at the drop and the things that could potentially be on the ground. Of course they'd blow up the bloody staircase and all possible ways of getting down.
She popped her head out of the hole in the floor her nose twitching at the faint scent of nature. Sap maybe? Something that made her nose itch. She brushed her nose before reporting what was below. "There's a thirty foot drop. Apparently the stair case was burnt to a crisp. There doesn't seem to be anything threatening down there... so..." She looked to Davy. He had wings, he could fly down there and maybe find something to help them. The only other choice was the hole in the wall, and she honestly didn't see how that could get them anywhere. "Also... there's an odd smell coming from the hole in the wall. Sap maybe?"
Xiven bit her lower lip as the Corvie explained what was going on. Wonderful. And it wasn't like they could make a ladder with the sheets or anything. She'd have to rely on a club teenager to potentially help. She didn't like any of this. She eyed Emeraude across the room.
The green haired woman was frowning. Couldn't they just kick the dog down there and hope she lives? Getting away from this hell hole shouldn't be so hard. She met Xiven's gaze, giving a small shrug. Hopefully the Club boy would be willing to fly down there and help.
At the news of a smell coming from the hole Emeraude raised an eyebrow. She eyed the hole speculatively. She went to take a closer look though she wasn't sure she could see much without a light (17).

(( OOC: Nat gave me permission to throw Bailee down the hole. <3 ))
Emeraude stared intently for a moment before looking over her shoulder, eying the Club canine who was still lingering around the hole in the floor. No one was doing anything, Xiven was being grumpy in the corner... blah blah blah.
The woman slowly slipped away and came up behind the Corvie. She briefly eyed the hole in the floor. 30 feet huh? That would kill a person right? She honestly wasn't sure...
Why not test it? She really did feel like kicking a puppy.
With a swift kick to Bailee's backside she pushed the canine through the hole.
Bailee had honestly been going through possibilities in her mind. There was no way she could survive a fall without padding or someone to land on. Why didn't she have wings or something useful up her sleeve?
As she pondered possibilities she didn't notice that the green haired woman was coming up behind her. When the foot connected with her backside a yelp escaped her. She was suddenly going through something she wasn't supposed to be going through.
Crap.
Xiven's attention snapped to the canine when she heard the yelp. Emeraude was standing behind the Corvie Canine and....kicking her? "Emeraude No!" the Queen shrieked and tried to dart across the room. She was far too late, as the dog was already tumbling to her death.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" she continued as she grabbed Emeraude by the wrist. "You've killed her!"
Emeraude looked mildly horrified. "You mean normal people can't survive that?"
Xiven promptly smacked the woman upside the head. "Of course they can't people are fragile! For the love of the Highland Hills you should know that by now! Don't you dare touch anyone else unless I say you can! I swear...."

Whatever attention the kitten had been focusing on the trapdoor evaporated in a second, focused instead on the hole in the wall. Sap? Sap seemed like a strange thing to smell.
Slowly, she edged closer to it, feeling as though (terrifying as it looked from where she was currently standing) it was at least somewhat safer than the yawning chasm in the ground. But as she moved closer, an icy terror began to grip her. Sap smell. And... Something else. She leaned in slightly, sniffing at it and narrowing her eyes suspiciously.
She heard the noise again and let out a terrified yowl at the exact moment that Emeraude shoved Bailee through the hole in the floor. "There's something in there! There's something moving in there!!" And she hadn't imagined it. Normally she would sit and evaluate that sort of thing, to make sure it wasn't just her paranoia getting the best of her. That hadn't happened here. This... She... There was something there.

Oh shit. Oh shit. The Not-card had went and killed someone. "Are you fucking insane?? Davy couldn't help but yell, flaring his wings and backing quickly away from the hole lest he was thrown in along with her. Goddamned Club hating bastards. He fucking hated hearts. Sure the Queen was yelling at the strange Avington as well but… come on. How the hell did the damned thing not understand common fucking decency and common sense.
WHen the little girl spoke up, his blood ran cold. "Oh… oh shit." Maybe jumping down the hole would be a better option. At least then he'd probably have a few broken legs, and maybe even his wings would buffer some of the fall. He stuck his face down in the hole, trying to figure out just how much room he had to extend his wings if he dropped down. Maybe staying with the Club would be a better idea since these Hearts and their freakish friend were fucking sociopaths.

Too many things were happening at once. Xiven hissed as she squeezed Emeraude's wrist. Did Vir just say something was moving in there. Suits. And the Club had said something, probably upset about that Corvie woman. Understandably so.
"You, Davy, if you can fly go down there and see if that dog is dead or not. If not, stop cowering and prepare yourself for a fight with whatever might pop out of that hole in the wall." She hissed again before summoning up her scorpian tail, she was not in the mood for any of this. If there was something in the hole she was going to cut it to bits and beat it to death on top of that. "Vir get away from there!"
She pushed Emeraude in front of her. She was going to take care of this damn thing.
Emeraude was feeling worse by the minute, she gave the Club remaining a rather dirty look when he yelled at her. Fine, she had done something stupid, she didn't think it would kill someone. Hell, cards had quite a bit of magic, she didn't think the Corvie was an exception to the rule. And she didn't particularly like to be reprimanded by a simple Club, or anyone other than Xiven for that matter. As bad as she felt, there was nothing she could do about the horrible mistake she made, and Xiven was only getting angrier.
She was silently pushed forward by the infuriated Xiven. "I'll take care of it, but first, hold this wold you." She turned around and put the silver trowel in one of Xiven's inner pockets before stepping forward to investigate the hole.
She took her belt off as she walked towards the hole in the wall. It would probably be better to throw something in there before she tried to actually look. She balled up her belt and threw it as hard as she could into the mysterious hole (20).
Xiven's Scorpion Tail: The tail is about 4 feet long, curls against her back, and is somewhat flexible, though the chitinous covering makes it rather stiff on a swing and carries her with it. This tail when she desires, all on command, she'll have full control over it and its movement. When she "retracts" it, she'll have the bony, spine tail. This tail can show up in her human form. "It'll make people feel repulsed and, unless she's modified her clothing, will make her skirt do things Pale likes...thought the tail should, by all rights, either disgust, or scare the shit out of him and most other SD. <3"

Davy was about as tired of the Queen as she was the situation. He bared his long front teeth and gave and angry chatter, bristling his fur when she summoned an absolutely DISGUSTING appendage from her lower back. "Ah, no. Fuck this whole situation. I'd rather die down a hole than have to listen or look at you for another second."
Before the Queen could decide to try to put him in his place, he leapt down the hole, flaring his wings as best he could to buffer his fall.

Davy's leap down the hold had him just manage to catch sight of what appeared to be a spatter of blood, a complete mish-mash of broken and burned wood, and an odd little door, before the world around him went dark, and he was whipped completely out of sight.

Emeraude was just able to see him vanish, before the floor gave way under Xiven and Vir completely; dropping them through to the next level, where an incredible bang and a good amount of cotton and feathers filling the air told them another bomb might have gone off under a bed.
A few seconds after they had fallen, something lunged out of the hole at Em! Thick, pulsating, and textured like rough bark, three tendrils made an attempt to wrap around her body! She can either stick with the thing, or follow her Queen, though the latter is recommended! Xiven and Vir will want to follow their fall down into this thread.
