Viola remembered seeing an odd burst of light around the corner while out shopping with Xiven. It looked almost like a tiny firework, strangely beautiful and oddly fuzzy, as though out of focus. Next thing she knew she was...underground?!?!? There wasn't much question, judging by the damp, mold, wet, and brickwork. Was she in the sewer?!? What happened? Her back legs hurt as though they've been struck and her chest feels oddly constricted, as though it was squeezed painfully by something far too large...
About ten feet from her, lies what looks like...a dead Selkie. In a small puddle of thick, sludgy water, she smells about as bad as Vio and looks like she got a lump on her head. The last thing Kama remembers is trying to find out if she could afford the pretty kimono fitted to Animal forms. Nothing else after. There don't appear to be any doors, windows, or ladders leading out of here... Only 8 tunnels branching off and away. Two before them; the first is pitch black and feels colder than this main room and its lone torch. The second is lighter, but still dank and unpleasant. The six behind them all smell a bit like old cheese and seem to twist down.
Well, best introduce yourselves, this looks as though it might take a while.

Nico awoke to find his back left leg sprained and his head whizzing as though on rewind! He remembers trying to follow his Mother to the market...and then...what? Nothing? His body is chilled and the pool of nasty water surrounding him smells simply terrible. There are voices though...echoing a few feet from him toward a light...maybe he should check it out?
He will emerge from the first tunnel before the other two; the one that is pitch black.

(( OOC: For your knowledge Uny, she's actually a deer now, so she does have limbs)) Waking up to feeling like her chest was constricted and being in a sewer was not the best way to end a shopping trip. The Heart silently cursed as she collected herself and hobbled over to investigate the body that may or may not have been dead. She wasn't, thank god, it was someone she could talk to and figure out why they were dumped in a sewer. She had been shopping as well... which wasn't reassuring. Where was Xiven anyway? Well, she was the Queen of Hearts, she could handle herself. Her ears twitched when she heard noises, a heart boy appeared out of one of the tunnels. Actually... he was related to one of the nobles. At least she was in good company, none of them seemed all that bad. "Let's find a way out of this creepy before we have proper introductions?" said Viola as she peered down one of the tunnels. It looked nonthreatening, though it smelled rather moldy. Then again everything smelled bad. "Do you know anything about the tunnel you were in young man?"She clopped over to the torch. They might as well bring this along if they were going exploring.

Coming to with a nasty headache, Kamayaro kept her eyes closed and took a moment to center herself before actually moving. Everything seemed to be in one piece, and relatively intact. But... oh, what was that smell? She sat bolt upright, regretted it immediately, but refused to lay down again. In the sludgy water. Ewwwwwww. She didn't even want to think about what that might be, floating next to her in the puddle. The little card startled when she realized she wasn't alone, turning to face the other unlucky occupant of this... tunnel? Who just happened to be the Queen of Hearts. Cringing slightly inside and suppressing a shudder of revulsion at her own appearance, she leapt lightly out of the pool of EW. It was a great effort to control her first instinct, which was to shake out her fur (really, splattering sludge onto a new acquaintance was hardly the best way to start a relationship, though it did open some interesting conversation topics), but she didn't want to run away so she could do so safely. At least, not until they were at least on speaking terms. "I wonder where we are," she murmured, trying not to sound as disgusted as she felt. In the end, Kama was saved from the awkward situation when a third party appeared. Another antlered-and-hooved Heart, no less. She bobbed her head in greeting, to the boy, and again when her first new friend suggested they start moving.

Nico awoke with a surprised gasp that he instantly regretted. He didn't know where he was (though it did smell suspiciously like a sewer), his ankle hurt, and his mother was nowhere to be seen. On top of it all it seemed like his scarf was lost as well, and it had been one of his favorites. Frowning nervously Nico was just considering calling out to his mother (she did have a tendency to turn invisible when it got too dark) when voices reached his ears from somewhere further up the tunnel. They were both notably feminine and neither seemed to suggest an immediate likelihood for danger so Nico didn't feel too bad he nervously headed in their direction. Had Mother been there she would probably say it was best to wait and gather more information about his surroundings before plunging into the unknown, but Mother wasn't there and he did not like the idea of being alone in a sewer. Thankfully, Nico's initial assessment was not entirely incorrect. There were two woman here, both looking worse for wear and discussing how they'd wound up in their current fates. He let out a tiny sigh of relief that he had no, in fact, stumbled upon the very people who had left him here. For that matter, what sort of miscreant walloped people and then abandon them to the sewers? His mind briefly entertained a terrifying thought of being fed to the Humongous Sewer-Dwelling Dragons his uncle Thal had told him about as a child but he quickly silenced that train of thought before it could go too far. Flights of fancy would probably only make things worse. The Heart Woman's question was met with a tiny frown and a light furrowing of four tiny brows. "I'm afraid I don't. I couldn't seen anything at all. It didn't smell any worse than this tunnel and I couldn't hear anything from the other direction..." His ears twitched and his tail flicked with nerves as he considered the other tunnels. None of them seemed particularly welcoming though a natural sense of curiosity brought him back to the oddly cheese-scented tunnels in the opposite direction. "Have either of you been any down that way?"

Before grabbing the torch Viola responded. She was either going to have to play a balancing act with the torch on her antlers or just put it in her mouth. She honestly didn't like the thought of something that was in the sewers in her mouth. Ugh. What a horrible situation.
"No we haven't, we woke up here and were pondering what to do next," She nosed at the torch. "But I don't see why we can't go down there. I'm not sure about the tunnel you came from, and the other one...."
Perhaps following the least offensive smell would be the best solution... so which tunnel should they take after that. The deer pondered this while staring at the torch. "Let's try the middle tunnel that smells like cheese. If any of you have anything to leave a mark, I suggest we use it to mark the way. I'm going to carry the torch in my mouth for a bit until we find something to use so I can tie it to my antlers.... so I'll take the lead. For the record... My name is Viola. Sorry we all couldn't meet under better circumstances."
She snatched up the torch in her mouth, and started to head towards the center tunnel.

Viola felt something strange sear across her tongue before fading out and away... maybe it was nothing? Regardless, nothing is happening now. The tunnel will go on, without any changes, save for horrible smell and dank, dripping walls for at least a ten minute walk. Use this time to figure out a bit more between you and see what you all have in reserve. Making an emergency plan is always a good idea...and make sure you either know where you're going, or have someone at the back of the party keeping track...
Keep playing and everyone roll a D20 for me.
Torch Spell (Cast on Vio): Once a week, this SD is now forced to freeze in place and light up like a flame for a full half hour. They are not aware when this happens and it doesn't hurt them at all. While this happens, they cannot be injured or moved...unless doused with Spade water. PM the Admin if that should happen...and be careful.

Viola seemed alright with taking command... which made sense considering her rank. But it still made Kama a little dizzy with how quickly things were progressing. She'd barely gotten her head wrapped around the fact that she'd somehow gotten herself into a mess (literally) down here, and suddenly progress was being made to get out. Yes, go ahead and call her slow. She hadn't been in the city long enough to completely shed her Selkie way of thinking.
Personally, though, Kama thought that if they wanted to get out, the best way to go would be towards the light, not towards the darker, descending tunnels. That, and she didn't like the smell of them. Never was very fond of cheese. But the two Hearts seemed interested in them, and if it came to a vote, she'd be outnumbered, so she kept that opinion to herself.
So she followed along behind, lagging a bit to shake the disgusting water from her fur before bounding a bit to catch up and pace alongside the younger of her two companions. "I'm Kama," she said timidly, just barely loud enough to be heard above the sharp clip of the six pairs of hooves in their party (though her voice still managed to echo down the tunnel). He, at least, seemed a bit less intimidating. If only because he was younger, and actually appeared to be as nervous as she was. "So.. does anyone have a plan, other than 'wander'?"

This King of Hearts was a very decisive woman. It made him feel a little bad for not quite remembering her name. It was an interesting name? Or a pretty one... Hmmm... He barely noticed his thoughts were wandering with the building of sounds around him until the woman actually mentioned her name.
Viola. RIGHT. And oh! He also had something that made marks, didn't he? His scarf might have gotten lost but he still had his little traveling pouch for trips to the market. "I've got some chalk in my bag that should be good for that."
When the lovely Selkie woman stepped up beside him, Nico smiled brightly and his ears perked forward cheerfully. She seemed a little timid for such a pretty lady and he really wondered why she let her hair grow over her eyes like that. "My name's Nico. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kama." He looked back up to Viola when Kama mentioned plans, aware that they certainly didn't have one, but he wasn't above trying to make one.
"Well, I'm figuring we go a certain depth into each tunnel. These seem to be heading down, but that can occasionally be misleading with underground tunnels." As they reached the entrance to the middle cheese-scented tunnel, Nico dipped his nose into his bag and produced a piece of chalk. Not quite the best taste. He scratched an X onto the floor and returned the chalk to his bag. He smacked his lips to rid himself of the chalky taste and then continued. "If the tunnel persists downward for too long, we can backtrack. If there's an exit in any of these, it shouldn't take us too long to find it... Right? I mean, someone had to bring us down here and unless there's a Team of Sewer Mutants kidnapping people then it's safe to assume we're not too far from our escape." At least he really, really hoped that was the case.
(Nico rolled a 9.)

The deer made a mildly surprised sound when she felt something cross her tongue, man, she really hoped that nothing weird happened with that later. Her nose wrinkled as she started down the tunnel, of course the only light source had something weird about it and she had to touch it.
Viola would have loved to engage in conversation, she frowned a little while holding the torch in her mouth. She didn't quite catch the Selkie woman's name. She'd have to ask again when she got the chance, but she paused to wave a hoof cheerfully at her in acknowledgement. And Nico! That was the boy's name, he was the brother of Jovan!
Her ears twitched as the boy spoke, well, at least he had chalk. Sewer Mutants? Well he had an active imagination. Shoot, she needed to get home to her children, and then there was Karrock and Erroll, though they could take care of themselves she just didn't like it when they had to take care of the kids. It was unfair....
The deer slowly trotted down the tunnel, happy to illuminate what was ahead of them. She made a note to try and count her steps and inspect the walls at the same time, though it was difficult.
(Rolled a 17)
