Haret glanced back with bewilderment in her gaze; she was no more used to having strangers join her conversations than Aderlass was. She didn’t begrudge the interruptions— two now!— especially since the two strangers, a dog and a cat, evidently knew wot they were talking about. This was a plus in her situation; she really did want to book a room before they filled up and she was left in a less desirable inn.
”Please call me Haret,” she offered in the way of her own introduction. ”It would be greatly appreciated if you could show me… us… the way.” She hesitated partway through that; she and the mouse certainly weren’t traveling together, but she didn’t want to be rude. It was a bit of a problem. She didn’t want to be rude, but she also didn’t really want to travel with the angry, little Card. Still, as long as she found the inn, she could work form there.

Caught again. Minh was beginning to wonder if Mnemosyne hadn’t hooked her up to some sort of tracking device while she was unawares, because the rate at which the canine was successfully able to hunt her down was astronomical. She was supposed to be a ninja, damn it! How did the darn woman keep finding her out?
She barely contained an eye roll when she caught Mnem’s warning look—what did the canine think she was going to do? Eat the mouse? Granted, that would be her initial reaction to anything of a rodent-y nature, but Mnemosyne should realize by now that any and all predatory conduct was moved to the back burner in light of such delightful mutations. She was more likely to rape him and have his babies, then kill him. Geez.
Smiling, she nodded, “Indeed. Of course, if you’re looking for more economical lodging I would seek out the Queen’s Tap. The Striped Rose is by far the nicest, though.”

Though he had been taken by surprise at the appearance of the second canine, he quickly recovered hoping none of his surprise had been seen. He had seen the look that had past between the two newcomers and was a little leery about their intentions. Shaking off the feeling, he soon became aware that it was now two canines and a feline who surrounded him. Becoming slightly insecure, a feeling that always ticked him off, he allowed his world-hate to show on his face, hoping to take back an upper hand with the lower cards. “It would be wonderful if you would show us where the Striped Rose is located.” He said, not willing to be pushed aside in the action. He wanted to learn all of the streets after all, what better opportunity then the present and with the presence of those who appeared to know the location. “Shall you lead the way?” He aimed towards the feline.

Having been given the reigns, so to speak, Minh was hard-pressed not to preen: it was about time someone recognized her sterling intellect for genius it was. She didn’t let the fact that she was horribly, incurably directionally-challenged damper her spirits in the slightest. Except—a bit of something from all those weeks of watching Mnemosyne lure people into her web with subtle subterfuge nagged at the back of her mind. And then an image of Kelasia, all awkward quiet, and the desire to cuddle that it always inspired in Minh.
After a brief moment of consideration she mixed the two images up in her mind, and came up with a hybrid of the two. Hopefully she was correct in following along with this particular niggling notion of genius.
Her smile turned slightly bashful and mortified, “Actually, it’s probably better if Mnemosyne lead. I’m absolutely atrocious with directions…”
Truth mixed with a bit of mild acting. She shuffled uncomfortably and scuffed a paw in the dirt, watching for his reaction under the veil of her lashes.

Mnem looked at Minh with puzzlement. Why on earth was she pulling that behavior? Mnem was very familiar with dissembling (spent most of her time doing it, actually, sometimes when she wasn't even aware of it, but that was neither here nor there), but in her experience Minh was useless at guile. Trepidation and shyness were such foreign expressions on Minh that Mnem had to repress the urge to laugh.
She was right about directions, though. Minh was good at navigating the mess of their apartment (which defied all of Mnem's attempts to keep it tidy), but aside from that, the feline probably couldn't find her way out of well-lit room whilst facing the door.
So she watched Minh eye the mouse from her downcast stance and said, "I do believe I could get us there in a timely manner."

He stared at the feline who now stared at him through lowered eyelashes. Not sure what to make of the situation, he titled his head a little in analyzation. He was aware that it appeared to be the second canine that was incharge, though he could not explain the sudden change from preenage to flirtatious behavior. Deciding that it was probably safer to not to look into the situation too deeply he turned his attention to the canine who had taken lead of the situation.
"Well, since time is of the essance, let us head out." He said with a slight hint of sarcasim.
It appeared the day was looking to lead to an adventure of being lost and finding an Inn that he had not been aware existed. Up for the journey he stood up and motioned for the canine to lead the way, placing the jewel he had been playing with in the pouch he wore around his waist.

Haret blinked her large, expressive eyes, a bit concerned about wot had just happened. Directions were lovely, but she really would have preferred the more economical of the two choices. Aderlass had chosen to the contrary, however, and they were evidently going to be on their way. Well, alright. As long as she was careful with her purchases, she should be able to spend the night and still get nice presents for her wonderful daughters. She just hoped they would get going soon.
She wasn’t entirely certain wot was going on between the feline and the mouse, but the two seemed to have some sort of strange connection going on. The black canine wasn’t confident enough to push herself into the conversation; not that she really had anything to say anyway. She was simply filing information away for later perusal.
She felt a little out of place in her bipedal form amongst all of the animal, but the pain inherent in her animal form made it prohibitive to her to change back again. So far no one seemed to think too much about it, though. It was so often viewed as an insult, though. She would certainly slow the group down if she switched, however.

"Well, come along, then," said Mnem, and began walk. The Striped Rose really wasn't very difficult to get to, and if that's where they wanted to go, then Mnem would lead on. It was not as though she had anything better to do at the moment, in any event. And they seemed like a nice enough bunch. The bipedal canine was very silent, though, and Mnem surreptitiously sent her a curious glance, wondering what it was that held her tongue. Hers was a form she hoped to attain, eventually. Useful things, fingers and thumbs.
But that was really of no importance at the moment. Perhaps she could strike up some kind of conversation with the group? The quiet canine might have interesting stories to tell, and she knew next to nothing about the mouse.
"So where is everyone headed," she said, "once you've checked into the Rose?"

The mouse shrugged in response.
He did not really have any plan set for what he was going to do in the Capital. Okay that was a lie, he no longer had much in the way of money, except for the few jewels he was particularly attached too, thus there was not much he was able to do. His last few coinage had been spent on a few days stay at the inn that they had just left. He was not even aware of from where his next meal were going to come from. He would like to pretend he was above the art of stealing . . . but desperate times called for desperate measures.
"I think I will be looking for a partnership soon. This silly city really requires too much in the way of coinage for one not to have some sort of income. 'Tis annoying really," he replied. "How about you . . . " He looked at the canine who had come upon him first expantantly.

Haret was silent for a long moment after Aderlass’ question. She didn’t really care if they knew wot she was about, but how to word it? She wasn’t going to parade her family’s history before a crowd of strangers.
”I search for gifts for my daughters,” she admitted in her soft, feminine voice. Her voice fit her bipedal form, the gentle curves of her black body obviously womanly. Her expressions were the key to conversing with her; the purple gaze gave far more information than her tone or words.
The Torquehelm acted as those of her realm; she was quiet and held her tongue until she needed to talk. Her counsel was close to her chest and someday might even be oft sought. But that was not today. The black canine caught the edge of Mnemosyne’s glance, but the woman’s gaze was much harder to read than her own. Haret was uncertain of the meaning behind the sidelong look so she could not answer it.
