That thing was named Monty? Or it was a Monty?, he wondered as Minh glared at the bander before turning her attention back to him. The fact that she had to mention the . . . critter not eating their limbs seemed like a bad sign – for both him and the Monty.
Eyeing her and the bottles that now lay on the table with an uncertain look, he suddenly wondered if sex with her would be worth the blood. It was not that he thought his blood to be so precious as to not be worth giving up, but rather he was not sure about the needles.
He considered her question about his arms, finally settling for the left. “Left.” he said as he shifted in his chair so that he faced her with his left arm at easier access. “Warning. If you make it hurt I will make you hurt too.”
He clenched and unclenched hoping to make his point clear to the feline.

Minh couldn't help it--she laughed. It was just so utterly ridiculous that he was actually threating her over a silly needle poke, that she couldn't seem to help herself. She was being actually rather amiable today, considering she hadn't drugged him and dragged him up a flight up stairs the first moment that presented the opportunity to slip something in his tea. He didn't know that course, but still.
"It's only a needle. You'll feel a tiny prick, and maybe a little pull. It won't kill you. And I'm good at this, besides--I've been doing it a long time, and no one has complained yet."
Considering none of her patients in the past had been conscious was a moot point, really. What he didn't know wouldn't hurt him, or...something.
She took possession on his arm, wrapping and tying a band around his upper arm to help bring out his veins, and grabbed her needle and the first vial.
"Here we go."

All of the flowers really were beautiful, but Haret was still having the hardest time deciding wot exactly she should do. Aroha was trying so hard, as was she, to make their strange little life work, even when it felt as though everyone was staring and talking about them. They would make it work for their girls. They had to.
Pushing this distraction away, Haret nodded again at the Yarrows Garden female's explanation of the plant before them and then waited for the next plant. Perhaps if there weren't so very many of them, exotic and exciting as they might be. Plants were, well, just plants. They were nice to look at and sometimes had nice smells, but the Torquehelm, ironically or not, didn't put a great deal of stock into the superstitions and ideas behind the flowers. After a long moment of expectant silence, the black canine blinked and looked over to see Mnem watching her pointedly.
The purple-haired woman blushed and said, "I'm sorry, wot?"

Apparently he had forgotten just how much he hated needles, because as soon as she was showed the needle and prepared to stick him with it, his neck tingled in hatred.
Gritting his teeth he gave a sharp nod of his head.
Watching as Minh neared with the needle he soon found himself having to look over her head, trying to spy something that would distract him. Monty was over in the corner chewing on something that the mouse probably did not want to know what it was. Mnem and Haret were upstairs still doing something about gift.
How about jewels? He start to name the different types and what they were good for . . .
Even through the distraction he could still feel the pressure of the needle and then the pull as the blood began to flow away from its normal cycle of his body. He could do this. He could honestly . . . Ah, bleep.
He so could not do this. Giving a low growl, he tightened his right hand into a fist. He wanted to punch the feline for this, though he knew it was not her fault and she had caused no pain.
“You had best finish up in the next three seconds or take it out now.” He warned.

Minh blinked in confusion, glancing away from the vials she was switching to give him a mildly irritated look.
"Don't be such a pansy. I just need one more vial, and it's not like you're going to need it. Now relax your arm; you aren't making this any easier on yourself."
Seriously--a middle-aged man did not just develop such a strong phobia of needles, and while Minh was sure he would have a perfectly logical explanation for his sudden mental breakdown, she would really appreciate being able to finish. It would really be bothersome to go through all the effort of wooing him, only to have to knock him out in the end anyway.
Looking at him, he didn't look too far off from popping her one, but considering the severity of his reaction she doubted she'd ever be able to get a needle near him again. She needed to finish now, damn it.
She massaged the flesh above the puncture, hoping to stimulate blood flow. It would be better for both of them if this ended quickly.

A wot –? He gave her a glare before gritting his teeth. She was almost done he could finish this. He was going to demand a high price from her in return for this. Through gritted teeth he muttered every curse word and curse he knew. He was not a pansy about this, he just hated the memories it brought back.
When Minh pulled out the needle he hiss between clenched teeth, muttering, “Freaking crazy Wench stabbing me with needles and poking me full of holes! I just bet you enjoy it to, crazy Wench!” He heaved small mental sigh of relief that she finally finished. She better put that blood to good use, blast it, otherwise he might just see what price he could get for her blood.
When she passed him gauze to hold over the hole, he held it to the wound. Sensing someone behind him he turned to see Mnem standing in the entry way.
((Minh's actions written with approval <3))

She hadn't even been paying attention, at all. Well. Mnem's determination to talk her into taking home some pretty flowers evaporated into the desire to just be quits of the whole affair. She should have known better than to try to deal in anything other than misery and woe with a Torquehelm.
Heaving a sigh, Mnem said, "Nothing, I said nothing, it's been lovely talking to you, you're a dear, have a present for listening to me prattle on for so long," and shoved a plant in her hands.
She exited the room. That was a bust. Oh well. She could complain to Minh about it later.
Speaking of...
She made her way back to the kitchen, where apparently a very loud racket was taking place, and it had something to do with needles. Aderlass did not look pleased. Mnem just wondered what in the hell had gone on in her absence. Really, she left Minh alone with someone for a few minutes and she stuck them with needles.
"Hello there, Aderlass. Minh!" she said. "Do explain."

Minh glanced over her shoulder as Mnem, giving a tiny shrug before turning back around to finish cleaning up her materials, "Oh, not much. Aderlass has just chosen to entertain me by playing the part of a terrified toddler at its first appointment for shots."
She glanced sideways at the mouse in question, and tried for nonchalant: "Anything you'd like to mention to us, Red? That was a pretty big freak-out."
Not that she was prying, or anything. She just wanted to know what she'd done to upset him so much. She seemed to have a natural affinity for pissing people off, but this little episode had been entirely different. And she would really like to avoid that kind of reaction in the future.
In the end, this little experiment had taught her a very important lesson about asking permission--it was easier not to. Screw polite behavior.

Sending her a glare that he hoped she felt the heat of he rubbed his arm a little, as if trying to rub away at a bug or a bad memory. “I did not act like a toddler at his first shot appointment.” He bit out at the feline, resisting the urge to stick his tongue out at her as well, that would not help his case in any way. “And the name is Aderlass, not Red, thank you very much.”
He was not sure if he wanted to let them in on anything that had gone on in his past. “Rough childhood.” He responded to her question, only saying it as loud as necessary to be heard.
Determined to set the just recently past events behind him, he sought a change of conversation. “I take it you were able to find Miss Haret a suiting gift?” He glanced behind her, looking for the missing canine.
