She sighed happily at the title of Perfect Stranger. It was something she knew and something she could understand. "You're my Perfect Stranger too. I don't know what I would have done without you." She squeezed him a bit, her hands feeling the fabric of his shirt. It was a nice feeling in all honesty. She should honestly take her gloves off more often.
The woman paused from her involuntary purring to chuckle a bit. "Of course I'll stay the night, I don't think I could find an inn that's open this late. Though... I am glad that Loreta is making you keep food in the house. Making you eat properly could never be a bad thing Mr. Tea Addict." If she could have managed a giggle she would have. His hands were in a comfortable place, he was doing all the right things, but she still hurt. Now she was even starting to physically hurt.
She purred anyway, placing the side of her head on his chest so she could listen to his heart beat.

Hatter smiled, finding himself blushingly oddly at her words. Why did it feel so nice to hear her saying that? That she needed him... His heart fluttered happily, which she would hear with her head pressed to his chest as it was, but he didn't give her long to think on it. Abruptly he lifted to his feet, sweeping her up with him and grinning with his usual charm.
Nothing was fixed yet, he was aware of that, but there was no good in being doom and gloom about things.
Toting her happily in his arms, he made his way into the bedroom. This room was nothing like his room in the Capital and was much more lavish, decorated with odd trinkets and -of course- more hats than one could easily count. He laughed warmly with Peaches snuggled in his arms and the both of them snuggled into the warm sheets and pillows.
"I'm glad for her taking care of me, but she'll never break me of my tea." He drew her close and gave her a gently affectionate squeeze. "Though I think my guests are most definitely happier now that they've got stuff to eat too."

She giggled. Sure the problem hadn't been solved, it wouldn't be for a while, but she was happy for the time being. Peaches was happy tot be carried around and flopped about. It was fun. Something she needed. Thank the stars and sky above for Hatter.
"I bet they are, and knowing Loreta, this means I get to make a proper breakfast for us," she nuzzled him happily. Her purr started up again, this time she was fully aware of it as she laid on his chest properly. She wasn't going to move unless he decided to take her somewhere. She was quite comfortable warm and snuggled up against him. Plus it didn't remind her of anything stupid in the past.
She yawned, suddenly finding herself very tired. "Meh," she muttered between purring. She wanted to stay awake just a bit longer to talk with Hatter. Or at least purr coherently for a bit longer.

Hatter's body melted beneath Peaches, because she was purring and snuggling and everything was just so very comfortable with her doing that in his arms. It was so soft and familiar that he could've quickly fallen asleep, but he kept his eyes open in order to keep them firmly upon Peaches.
"Mmmm, yes it does. I hope your breakfasts are as delicious as Loreta's are." He squirmed happily and clutched his Perfect Stranger more firmly against him. "I'm somewhat starting to learn things as well, when Loreta lets me in the kitchen."
He grinned widely and laughed softly only for his laughter to taper into a yawn. His burst of fear and confusion and worry had left him exhausted. Obvious Peaches was exhausted to, because she looked as if she were drowsing off in his arms. "You ought to sleep, Peaches."
Hatter shifted slightly, just enough to begin helping Peaches out of things like her boots in order to help make her more comfortable in bed. Once he'd gotten her comfortable, he tended to his own clothing and the like before easing back down to pull her close once again.

She gave a small mew of surprise when he started to take off her boots. Well, fine, she would get ready for bed. She made no more protests and simply stripped off what she was wearing. Peaches normally slept in her animal form but she would make an exception for Hatter. Plus it was easier to cuddle when you had your arms free.
Once he was actually under the covers with her, she snuggled up besides him. Falling asleep was going to be a bit difficult with what she was thinking? Then again she felt exhausted. With a long drawn out sigh she soaked up the warmth that Hatter so kindly produced. She found herself purring once again as she listened to Hatter's heart beat.
Was this really all right? Finding comfort in a "stranger" who wasn't really a stranger anymore? The thought lingered until she drifted off. It wasn't a restful sleep, but it was sleep none the less.

Peaches was always beautiful in Hatter's opinion, but naked Peaches was exceptionally nice. He removed his own clothing, dropping the interfering material with Peaches' own and melting down into the bed with her. Sleep didn't come easily tonight, but he hadn't wanted it to either. He watched Peaches as she slept and stroked her continuously until he was absolutely sure she was fully asleep.
When he was certain, he kissed her forehead and sighed softly what had been tormenting his tongue all evening. "I love you, my perfect stranger...I just need to find a way to tell you properly." He sighed again, but with more content now than before. Perhaps now his mind could stop churning and he could sleep easily?
Sometimes between those words and when Hatter reopened his eyes, morning had claimed the sky and Hatter found himself yawning as he laid in bed. He must not have gotten much sleep, but it really didn't matter so long as Peaches was well and rested.

Peaches snuggled Hatter in her sleep. If she had heard those words, well, then she would have to admit everything to herself wouldn't she? However that wasn't about to happen anytime soon.
The morning came, and the woman twitched at the bright light that drifted through the window. She gave a small growl. Morning was not her friend today, even if she was normally an early raiser. Bleary eyed she looked up at Hatter. Blinking away the sleep she watched him yawn.
"Morning," she muttered. Oh this wasn't her best morning. She shifted so she could roll over and sit up. She did several cat like stretches before she literally rolled out of bed.
She caught herself before she it the floor face first. The woman mutter something incoherent as she began to put on her clothing. No, she really didn't get a good nights sleep, but at least she could cook breakfast.

Hatter yawned again and resisted the urge to grumble and groan. Getting up was not an easy task but he managed it roughly about the time when she literally rolled out of bed. He was not so elegant, and stood at the edge of his bed and simply stretched out his aching limbs for a long while until, at last, he was ready and willing to go through the motions of getting dressed.
On high stress nights like they had both endured that night, it really was best to sleep as much as you could...or waking up was simply a bitch.
Once he was fully dressed once more, Hatter gave his head a good shake and forced his thoughts in order. A smile touched his features and he drew up behind Peaches to give her a kiss on the cheek. "I think we need a good caffeine boost this morning, how does some tea sound?"

She leaned back and licked Hatter's chin before responding with proper and coherent words. "Caffeine is a very good thing. After that I can make hashbrowns, eggs, and bacon, since I know Loreta likes cooking that. If she forced you to keep potatoes in the house then I could always make potatoes pancakes with a little bit of effort."
Breakfast always made her happy. Even if the heavy thoughts lingered in the back of her head, she would deal with them after she was properly awake. The woman slipped out of Hatter's hands so she could shift into her biped form and back. It straightened out her hair rather nicely. That was the one pain of having long hair. It always got messy when you slept. But she would never cut it off. Never.
She followed Hatter to the kitchen. Taking a seat on one of the stools. Peaches honestly needed tea before she could do anything. She was terribly grateful for Hatter to fix it.
