"I was about to say don't touch her," Josephine said with a sigh as she watched the woman sneeze from the dust. She couldn't imagine Thyme was happy about all of this.
"What's going on exactly?" Kazifel asked as he motioned the pair and Femi inside. Well, more like he clutched Femi's arm just in case something happened because of the mysterious dust raising up from his daughter's now oddly colored fur. If Josephine just said sorry then this was a big thing.
Once all of them were inside he waited for an explanation, and it came quicker than he expected.
"Apparently Thyme got into something left in the attic. She now has several.... abilities like the dust that's in her fur. As well as the ability to smell with her... tail, well the feelers on her tail. I'm sorry I didn't keep an eye on her." Josephine said, looking a little faint, even for her.
Kazifel blinked a few times. Oh well. "At least she's safe, I'm going to get something to drink for everyone." With that said he slipped out of the room.

Thyme opened her mouth to warn her mother against a hug, but Femi's grabby tactile motherness overpowered that right away and she just sighed, blowing a swirl of dust away from her face. She didn't say a word, just looked at her dad miserably and shook her head. She would let her aunt say whatever it was she wanted to say first.
Blinking muzzily, Femi clutched Kazifel's arm as he helped her inside and plopped down next to him on a couch. "Oh, what a nasty dust... I feel dizzy..." She yawned once or twice, but after another minute or two her focus slowly started to come back and she blinked away the sleepy feeling.
The wolf felt like she was three inches tall again, looking down at the coffee table in the room rather than at the faces of any of her family. "I'm sorry I've been so much trouble," she said quietly, then looked up as her dad left the room. He certainly didn't look to be angry, but sometimes that was just him hiding things. She thought she looked just... awful.

Josephine sat down awkwardly on the couch across from Femi and a little away from Thyme. How was Kazifel taking this so... simply? She didn't know. She simply should her head and propped it on one of her hands. Kazifel came back with the proper amount of cups and tea in no time. Well, there was enough time for an awkward silence to fill the air, but he ignored it. His daughter may have looked different, but she was still the same person. Right? He was about to say something, but he was interrupted by a gasp. "Thyme? No freaking way! Aunty Joe is here too!" Rosemary said as she stood in the doorframe. She had decided to take a break from traveling and say hello to Mom and Dad. Well this, this was a lovely surprise wasn't it? Thyme and Aunty Joe in the Wood on a day like today. And to top it off, Thyme seemed to have mutated or something. Heh. Now she really was the only normal one.

Oh great. Her sister. Red eyes flicked up to look at Rosemary, then away. She didn't feel up to any sort of joking. She just felt awful. And now her tail was smelling the couch and telling her that...
...eww! She blushed and jumped off the couch, not wanting to think of her parents that way. She knew they did, but... eww. Eww again. Her parents. She was going to have an interesting time sitting on furniture from then on, she just knew it. She was thus far not at all pleased with her tail's new ability, however fascinating it was.
Femi gave her a startled, confused look and she just shook her head, blushing harder. "Just making room for Rose. I, um. I think I'll be more comfortable here."
The squirrel just shrugged, then got up to go and give her Tulgey daughter a hug, kissing her on the top of her head and smiling. "So good to have you home, sweetheart! You and Thyme both... what a good day. And of course, Sage is upstairs, though she's busy right now, and Alphonse is asleep until the sun sets. Besides your brother, you're all here!" This left her feeling inordinately happy.

Rosemary accepted her mother's hug and kiss without much protest. She nodded to her smiling dad as he slipped out to quickly grab another cup. Dad was so cute and thoughtful sometimes. "Yeah, Parsley sends his best regards. He's having a ball in Corvistowne." She hopped up on the couch besides Thyme. She was gave her sister a sniff. Then she sneezed a few times, and tried to wipe some sleep out of her eyes. Yikes.
Josephine crossed her legs and sipped her tea. Well this was fantastic, wasn't it? "Your sister had an unfortunate accident with a moth in my attic." She shrugged.
"Heh," Rosemary said as her ears flicked backwards. "You've got a pretty cool mutation out of it. I'm jealous."
She would have continued on her rant if Kazifel hadn't come back with a teacup and poured her the drink. He looked at both is daughters with a sigh. Thyme didn't look happy from all of this. "Thyme, are all right?"
Josephine winced at the question.

"Oh, I'm glad he's doing alright," Femi murmured, settling back next to her husband and accepting the tea with murmured thanks and a small kiss. "He needs to write letters a little bit more often. I know he's busy having fun and learning about his native region, but I wish he'd remember to pick up a pen every now and then. I miss hearing from him."
Thyme looked up at her father, red eyes thoroughly unhappy. Cool. Haha. Funny, Rose. "I wish I'd never touched the moth. I was stupidly curious. I just... have to live with this for the rest of my life now." This ugly green, spotted with yellow and sprouting ugly blue fronds from her tail. She would never be free from it if what her aunt said after studying it was correct. It wouldn't shave out, the dust made it difficult for any kind of dye to set - it would cover her Highland white instead! - and there was no way to remove the affects without damaging herself irreparably.

Rosemary refrained from calling her brother in inconsiderate dick. Sometimes he just made everyone worry and could careless. Bah. Whatever. She was currently content on watching the drama unfold in front of her. Thyme wasn't happy with her decision to mess around with the moth then. Curiosity got the better of her then? It wasn't much of a surprise.
Kazifel shifted with a sigh and shook his head. "Well dear, it's a bit late to take back what you did. You shouldn't worry about it. You're still a pretty girl and I'm sure you'll figure out a good way to cope with everything. You are, after all, being trained by Aunt Josephine."
The older woman shifted. Oh flattery, it was fantastic. And she couldn't help but smile, even if she knew he didn't mean it. She sipped her tea. At least the crisis had been averted to some degree. The whole problem with presenting Thyme would come later.

Her father's words were awfully nice to hear, even if Thyme didn't take them at face value because... well... he was her dad. He kind of had to say she was a pretty girl no matter what she looked like, even with this hideous blemish smeared across her fur. Forever. Her head lowered slightly and her ears went back in unhappiness. "Yes, Dad. Thanks."
At least her aunt wasn't in such a bad mood that she couldn't smile? That was good, if nothing else. The wolf still wasn't sure how exactly Aunt Josephine was taking this beyond 'bad' and she'd been half-afraid that this trip to see her parents would end with her staying in the Wood as no longer worthy to train under her aunt. She didn't think the woman would be willing to sacrifice so much time and effort... and really, even if she wasn't sure, she hoped her aunt had even some of the fondness for her that she had for the older woman... but she could never be sure. The one and only time she'd said that she was proud was a memory that the girl cherished.
Femi waved her hand as she sipped at her tea. "So it was a moth that did it, you said? Could either of you, ah, explain just how that happened? I mean, to have dust like that, I'm guessing it's more than just her appearance...?"

She didn't believe him. Well, that was typical of a child. He would just keep his mouth shut until he was absolutely needed again. The wolf picked up his tea and leaned back in the sofa, moving up to Femi a bit closer.
Rosemary wiggled a bit in her seat. What was Joe going to say? What exactly had happened to make a moth magically mess up her sister. It was a pity her Highlander coat was all weird now. Rosemary had always liked the coloring. But she imagined that the moth did more than that.
"She now has a heightened sense of smell, and that fine powder in her fur causes dizziness and can make a person sleepy. I don't exactly know how it happened, but apparently my darling brother left something in my attic. This moth with magical properties, basically gave Thyme a six sense as well as mutilated her coat. She still is a purebred Highlander." Josephine gave a shrug before continuing to drink her tea. If Thyme wanted to elaborate she could.
Kazifel raised an eyebrow at the mention of his father. Of course he would do something like that.
