Her aunt's answer made Thyme wince at the acerbity of the words, but at the same time something in her exulted. Really, her aunt's opinion on the matter was the one she'd been seeking. If Josephine saw her as still being suitable, a Highlander through and through regardless of her coat, then... she was fine. Well, she would be after she left and got a good night's sleep. She hadn't gotten one of those in a few days, though being a Club it hadn't mattered so much.
"Alright. Thank you, Aunt. Sleep well." So saying, she turned and left the room, closing the door behind her. That was such a huge relief, it wasn't even funny. The woman's opinion mattered way too much to her.

The next morning, she still hadn't killed Sage - an accomplishment! - and was eating some of her dad's delicious pancakes with the rest of the family. Breakfasts had always been pretty awesome at home. Even if her aunt's cook had more variety, nobody could top Dad when it came to pancakes with nuts and cream and all sorts of other delicious things. She looked a lot more cheerful than she had before.

Josephine watched her niece go with a small smirk on her face. That was better. She liked it when she wasn't silly and uncomfortable every second they were in the room together.
---
Rosemary walked into the dining room late. Hopping on a chair slightly groggy. Without question her father passed her a stack of pancakes. He had wonderful timing sometimes.
The young wolf glanced at her Highlander sister. Well now, wasn't she a bit more chipper than she had been. What had happened to make her so happy? Not like it mattered. Everything was better when Thyme was happy. "Had a good night's sleep?" she asked as she nudged her sister's arm.
Dust flew off her fur, causing Rosemary to cough for a few minutes and blink away the sleep. Oh stupid morning. "Wow that just proved the point that I should never wake up before noon. Sorry."

Thyme glanced up as her sister walked in and smirked, nodding. Then she had to close her eyes in annoyance and a moment of being quietly disturbed as powder poofed off of her coat. That was... probably the second most horrible part of this whole ordeal, besides changing her appearance. She would never be able to casually bump shoulders with her sister again unless she wanted her to go dizzy and sleepy and sneezing. It didn't give much hope for her future love life either.
In fact, that thought was almost more depressing. She didn't want to touch it. Time to focus on the people around her instead.
"Yeah, I slept fine. Really needed it to help put things in perspective. And it's no problem. It just sort of... happens. Now. I guess." She sighed and tried not to roll her eyes, figuring that would just be the epitome of 'mature'. "Great pancakes by the way, Dad. It'll be nice to have some good food in me before we hit the road again. I don't think Aunt Josephine wants to stay any longer than she needs to."

Josephine hadn't bothered to come down to breakfast for the majority of the morning. She had been flipping through some of her notebooks, and preparing for the trip home. Eating never crossed her mind until her stomach made an audible sound. With a frustrated sigh she set down her notebook and made her way to the dining room.
Rosemary snorted at her sister's comment. "Of course Aunt Joe isn't going to stay for long, especially when I'm in the same building as her. I'm the best way to re--" Rosemary stopped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Glancing upwards she gave her Aunt a weak grin.
The woman gave her a glare before releasing her grip and walking over to an empty seat. "The only reason I have to leave today is because I have an important meeting to prepare for that I had to postpone for this little outing. If it's not a problem we'll leave after lunch."
((OOC: Take it as far as you want. If you really want I imagine you could end it in the next post. ))

Thyme saw their aunt walking into the room and controlled her smirk by force, not wanting to give her sister a hint as the human woman came up behind her and dropped a hand on her shoulder. It probably felt like a lead weight. She was tactfully silent until Josephine glanced her way and then nodded, turning her head to face her aunt. "I have no problems with that, Aunt, and I doubt anyone else does either. Well, Mom might be a little put out, but not too bad. I think."
She finished up her pancakes, now letting the smirk come out as she glanced at her sister. However much she liked Rose, sometimes it just felt good.
Afterwards, she excused herself and left the room, hoping her sister took the hint and followed her out. They had a few hours to catch up before lunch and their departure. She would spend them yakking with Rose.

Rosemary rolled her eyes at her sister's smirk. Well screw that. The wolf squirrel finished the rest of her breakfast in a hurry before hopping off after her sister. She wasn't going to waste the chance of finding out all that had gone on since they had last seen each other. How long had it been? She couldn't honestly remember. Plus she wanted to tell Thyme all about her trips.
When they were back in the room Rosemary started with, "You would absolutely love Esterberry. Well, once you get over all the nerds the libraries are amazing! You could find all sort of magical books and trinkets in that place. I'm surprised that Josephine hasn't taken you there."
She continued to talk about various things with her sister, waiting for her witty replies or snickers. It was fun to be talking about nothing. Lunch was rolling around though and they would have to part ways for a little while longer. "Hey... I wanted to talk to you about the swords. One day we're going to take them to a specialist right?"

Thyme grinned and flopped on her bed, forcefully ignoring the cloud of dust that poofed up with the movement, as well as each subsequent shift. They'd have to do a good dusting and cleaning to get this stuff out so it didn't linger or get tracked around the house. It was really annoying stuff. Aunt Joe's servants were going to be hard-pressed to get used to it, she was sure.
"You know, she's mentioned Esterberry before as a good place to do research, but she says that since I haven't exhausted some of the books in her private library, I wouldn't be needing to go there for a while. I'm making headway, though. And I don't really care about nerds one way or the other." They could be the harmless type she would ignore, or they could be the obnoxious type she would mock. Either was fine. She was a King and could usually afford to do either, especially being a Highlander. Though now she'd have to work harder to convey that impression, just to fight against this blemish on her fur.
Time passed faster than she thought was fair, but it always went by quickly when she was with Rosemary. "The swords... hmm. Yes, we'll have to, won't we? So we can figure out just what they're capable of, since Devya didn't leave any specific notes or writings."

"Devya probably did leave notes at some point. I mean you wouldn't just make something without leaving specific information about it. I bet it's just lost somewhere in the massive amount of stuff owned by the mages of the family." Rosemary waved a paw.
"Anyway, we should get downstairs. I'm probably going to do a bit of research on who we can see in the future about the whole weapon thing. It's probably going to be pretty difficult since... well I don't think this is a common happenings. Unless Devya was running around behind everyone's back scattering magical weapons." She snorted as she hopped off the bed triumphantly. She moved towards the door, but paused to look back at her sister for one long moment.
"I'll see you soon." She said quietly. Even on all her adventures she sometimes missed Thyme and the rest of her family. Mostly Thyme, because not many people were willing to put up with her talks of adventures and other events she found interesting.

Thyme nodded, standing up and stretching before she hopped down to the floor. "Yeah, he probably left writing somewhere... it's just a matter of where. And since Aunt Josephine's the only mage really left in the family who 'counts' enough to have any magical texts, like Dad and all that, then it would have to be somewhere in her manor. Maybe I'll stumble across them one day." She shrugged and tried to ignore the itch on her shoulder, not wanting to raise a cloud of dust by scratching it.
Her sister's tone of voice made her look back over to see the expression on Rose's face. Her muzzle twitched in a small smile and she nodded. "See you soon, Rose. Come bother us sometime soon. Even if Aunt gets twitchy, it would be nice to have you around again and hear where your Grand Adventures take you this time." Tail wagging slightly, she brushed past the Tulgey girl and went downstairs to find Aunt Josephine. The woman would probably already be packed and ready to go.
