Slightly taken aback by the way she asked her question of where his life had taken him, he blinked. It was very rare that anyone used a look or tone like that toward him. The only ones who had ever dared were any of his fathers or Se.
"Easy, easy." He murmured to himself, feeling Juris shift uneasily in the scarf. Turning his full attention back to her he easily continued as if nothing strange had happened the moment before. "I have followed in my father's footsteps, for the most part." His tone would easily convey the pride and honor he had for that way of life. With being raised for Court life, and both of his living fathers being The Queens had left him not really wanting it any other way. "I spend my time going back and forth between the two Courts," He said it as if there were only two courts. Giving a small shrug he did not bother to expand any more.

Her ears twitched just once. There was a good chance that each little twitch and movement meant something very specific to the woman, though it would likely take a great deal of applied practice and many years for anyone else to be able to read them all.
"This is so?" It was a question and a statement and she gave no indication as to whether or not she had heard his low murmur. "Which father's footsteps do you follow?"
Despite the question, she was currently still unaware of his heritage and backstory. Drostan sent the man a hard look, however, as though things were beginning to click for him. His red eyes shot back to his mistress, but she ignored him quite easily. The grison huffed under his breath and abruptly settled himself under the table, across the taloned feet. She would do whatever she wanted, whether or not it was a good idea.

His answer was delayed by the arrival of their food. Cutting up the meat he placed half of it on the extra plate, splitting up the sides that came along with it as well, before sliding it in front of her. Taking a moment, he took a bite savoring the taste.
"I suppose that depends on who you want to call my fathers." He said giving a small flick of his knife. "My actual parents are the late Majesty Veldmair, The Queen of the Clubs and the current Majesty Aderlass, The Queen of the Clubs. However His Highness Elias and His Majesty Shinrai, The Queen of the Hearts played a major role in my upbringing." He said all of it in an easy manner, as if it was nothing of major concern, though it was also evident in his tone that he held such facts with great pride.

The hybrid's eyes widened in surprise and her glance turned slanting as she tilted her head and looked at him through her eyelashes. Well, well, well. That certainly added a very nice twist.
"You have an illustrious heritage," her tone quieted in reverence. "Yes, a very regal background." Her smile was approving as she cut up her own food. She took a bite, pausing to savour it herself. Exceedingly flavourful and nicely tender. He had excellent taste in food as well.
Almost absently, she offered some to the Ace on her feet and he accepted it without a word. "Your living father, then, killed your other one." It wasn't a question, simply an observation. "You are often in the Court of Hearts then. Wot do you think of the present Queen of Hearts?" The question slipped easily from her beak before she took another bite.

He continued to eat his food as she talked. When she denoted that his technical mother had killed his father he gave a nod of his head, even though it was obviously not needed. "It was not much of a loving relationship, no" he added.
After taking a sip of his water he answered her question. "I am not there as often as I once used to be, obligations to my father taking precedence" He started, pausing to take another bite, then continued, "When I am at the Heart Court, though, I do not often find myself in the presence of His Majesty Shinrai, spending most of my time with his son Se instead." The fact that he hang out with and kept Se from harming others was a well known fact. Continuing though he said, "Regardless, I do have a great pride and respect for His Majesty."

If one could kill the other it was hardly surprising for it to not be a very loving relationship. She would guess, actually, that there was a great deal of hatred involved. He seemed quite happy to not speak of it, even as she couldn't seem to sense any real bitterness about it either. Very interesting.
"A son named Se?" Her ears twitched again and she paused in her eating to contemplate this bit of news. "How many children does the Queen of Hearts have?"
Thus far she had only met Ira, of course, and two of the youngest: Sid and Leviathon. She knew there were two others of Sid and Levi's age, but she and her father hadn't really discussed his other siblings. That young batch was also only half-siblings. Her mother hadn't actually known a great deal about Ira's family as well.

That . . . was a very good question.
"From my last estimation he is currently up to eleven kids, I believe. He had seven from his first batch there was - Se, Ira, Eir, Ven, V, Helena, and Iphis" He counted them off on his fingers. "You do not really see many of them anymore other then for Se or Ira in the Court. For his newest batch there was, thankfully, only four - Levi, Sid, Seren, and Auxen." He had not really had the chance to meet those ones yet, but he had heard a lot about them from Ira.
When you really thought about it, it was quite impressive of the man. After all eleven kids from just two breedings. The man was apparently very fertile. On that train of thought came another, he had never really given a thought to just how many kids his own dad currently had. He knew the man had had another batch before him, though it had only consisted of two kids.

Her ears twitched again, followed by a swift flick of her tail. "He's been very busy." Yes, Grandfather had been exceedingly busy for quite some time it seemed. This amused her terribly and she would be certain to let him know that she was aware of his strange fertility.
Dre took a moment to finish her food, and lifted her glass to her beak. She paused before taking another sip. "Do his children share his tendency towards multiple mates?" She really didn't care except for one very specific case.
Drostan shifted at her feet, sensing a new tension within the woman that hadn't been there previously. Of course, as soon as he thought about it, he remembered that he didn't actually care and put his head back down. "Who freakin' cares?" the Ace growled onto his feet. "He can sleep with whoever he wants."

He had just finished his own plate, pushing it away from him toward the center of the table and gulped down the last of his water. "The only one that I am aware of even having a mate is Iphis, and he stays with his man." Then again Iphis was a case unto himself. If any of the other siblings had had any mates or slept around he was not aware of it.
It finally struck him at just how odd and personal these questions of hers was getting. "If you do not mind me asking," in truth he did not care what she thought on it, "what is with all of the questions?" He raised an eyebrow in question, shifting slightly in his chair as if trying to find a more comfortable position.
"Also, would you be up for dessert?"

The woman's wings twitched slightly and her head tilted to one side in a distinctly bird-like motion. She lifted one hand to her chest, trailing her fingers just under the red Heart that was emblazoned there. She gave him a small smile. "I have never been here before; my clan is rarely touched by the doings of the Capital. I need to know my Court and wot choices they are making."
Her wings and ears twitched together at the mention of dessert. "I certainly would if their cheesecake is good." The idea of that, at least, was exciting to her.
Drostan lifted his head again and glanced up at the woman. "I hope you remember to get me some, stupid little--"
"Would you prefer to discuss your ties between the two Courts?" She tilted her head prettily at him.
