Dre simply smiled at his promise of retaliation, knowing that she could give as well as she got.
It was nice for them to so quickly be on the road; the speed of their departure reminded her of a few of the exits Melody's Song had enacted over the years. It was a pleasant reminder of fun times. She was surprised when they found Drostan in the library, but probably not quite as surprised as he was to be included on their venture. It was hard to tell, but it was highly likely that there was a great deal of relief in his demeanour that Dre wasn't abandoning him now that she had a spouse.
Dre settled happily into the carriage, watching out of the window with a great deal of interest despite the fact that there was no canine in her immediate heritage. She loved watching the country side speed by and she beamed at Ignatius briefly before letting her eyes wander back to the swiftly moving hills of her home region.

For the first part of the carriage ride he with watching Dre have a great time of things. Sitting across from her, his arms crossed over his chest, he had shifted his attention between watching the passing scenery himself and playing footsie with the beautiful avian.
Soon however the swaying of the carriage had sent the strange mix to sleep.
Awakening later Iggy gave a stretch, giving a groan of protest at the stiffness in his muscles from sleeping sitting up. Looking out the window he squinted as he tried to remember what all was going on. This lagging was not something common to the King and probably showed just how comfortable he felt around his new wife. Around anyone else, including Ira, the mix would have been on his toes at all time even when asleep.
"Where are we?" He wondered aloud though it was directed at Dre.

The woman was plastered to the window, golden eyes wide as she looked one way then the next. "We're home," she breathed, her tone reverent. A glance would show that they were pulling into a small town that was surrounded by a multitude of tents. The woman's head tilted one way then the next to look from one familiar feature to the next, but it was one particular cabin with a tent pitched nearby that caught her breath in her throat and she mouthed a word excitedly.
Drostan quickly came up on his hindlegs to look out as well and his mouth quirked in a smile at what he saw. "The clan is home." The words were announced more to himself than anyone else, though it would be simply for the Corvie hybrid to hear them as well.
"Thank you, Ignatius!" Dre exclaimed suddenly, whirling to kiss him deeply before she bolted from the carriage and headed towards one of the tents.

Iggy was taken off guard by her sudden kiss and flying out of the carriage to quickly disappear. Scratching the back of his head a few times he quickly came to attention. The journey had been considerably shorter than he would have thought it to have been.
Straightening his clothes he exited the carriage. Glancing around the odd scene that now surrounded him, not sure what to make of it, he eyed everything. A quick note of his surroundings and the people therein made he followed after the that Dre had taken his stride sure and strong.
However, his delay of getting out of the carriage had been just long enough that he was not completely sure which tent it was that she had dashed toward. Rather than act as if he was lost he stopped and eyed everything around him, for all the world looking as if he meant to be standing right where he was doing just what he was doing.

Drostan slipped out of the carriage after his mistress, but he didn't wait for Ignatius to follow either. He was quick to slip amid the tents so he could give a small sigh of relief. For all that his position in life has dropped, being back 'home' was a relief. He turned at the sound of children playing and quickly moved towards it, looking for those children he used to play with.
Dre had her skirts pulled up so she could dash to the cabin that held their non-travelling belongings. She nearly smacked into the threshold, pausing to take a deep breath of her family home then quickly opened the door and stuck her head in. She beamed as she caught sight of the peregrine falcon. "Mama!"
The woman turned at the sound of her daughter's voice, and a beaming smile lite across her features. "Dierdre! Darling, why are you here?" Still her arms opened immediately to her daughter and Dre threw herself into her mother's arms.

Glancing around at his surroundings he tried to figure out where it was that Dre could have gone. If she was a Club he could have easily contacted her with the wedding ring that now graced her hand. Unfortunately in this situation that was not the case.
Walking past one of the tents he was distracted as he saw a mother and her little child sitting outside, seemingly chatting to each other as they were bent over something they seemed to be working hard on. His attention diverted he almost did not pull to a stop in time before crashing head on with someone.
Taking a step back he sent a glare to the person who had obviously not been looking where they were going.
Blue eyes meet and held his. The feminine eyes widened in surprised before she curtsied, glancing up at him demurely from lowered eyelashes. My, my, my, Sanjaya thought to herself. This one was quite a catch.

"So I should be asking you!" the equine mix exclaimed. "The clan is always out this time of year." She pulled back just enough to sweep a glance down her mother and make sure that the avian was well. Katarina Kavanagh looked tired, but that was how she had appeared since her eldest child decided to eat the younger two. Through the whole ordeal, however, Dre had never heard her mother speak ill of either her children's father or her eldest son.
"There was a bad epidemic," the falcon admitted. "We're here until we're certain it's all passed. But tell me Dierdre, why are you here?"
"Have you received my letter?" the woman asked quickly, getting a negative response back. Her smile grew abruptly. "I have someone for you to meet!" She tugged on her mother and quickly headed back outside.
Drostan slipped into the game, illiciting happy cries as the children recognized him.

When the avian gave him a much too friendly smile Iggy silently lofted a questioning brow at her.
"What is a . . . fine young man such as yourself doing in these parts?" She asked, her voice sounding like music itself with its floating notes and musical quality. It would be obvious to anyone with an ear what her occupation within the Clan involved.
Not sure what to make of such an advance, he gave an uninterested shrug. Perhaps if he was rude enough she would just go away?
"I take it you are the 'strong and silent' type." The purr at the end of her words revealed that she had to have some kind of feline influence in her family history. "How about you tell me what you are looking for and I will show you around?"
Iggy paused for a moment. He could ask her where Dre was but considering that they just arrived only a few moments before the chances that she had since, much less knew, Dre seemed unlikely.

Once he was positively identified, the Ace managed to kill the game and ended up, instead at the bottom of a dogpile. He gave a low laugh and mock-growled at the children, causing them to scatter as they started a game of 'Stay Away From the Ace'.
Katarina followed her daughter in bemusement, but her smile was wide as they came upon the now empty carriage. Dre's ears flipped back in surprise, but just as quickly she turned around to go find her companion. She gave a low laugh, explaining to her mother that they must be around somewhere and then she led the way through the tents, waving greetings to her clan in happy contentment.
She finally spotted her spouse and a fairly wicked grin ruffled up her feathers before she tugged her mother to quickly follow. "Mama," she said proudly and quite loud enough for Sanjaya to hear. "This is my husband, Ignatius."

Iggy was just about to rudely push her off and go in search of his wife for himself when he heard a lovely voice call out behind him. Lofting a brow he turned to face the owner.
"So you finally decided to show yourself, dear wife." He called back his tone neutral though Dre would probably recognize the tone for a teasing one. "I was starting to wonder where you had gotten yourself off to. Thought you might have decided to rethink your decision."
He was extremely pleased that she had finally decided to show herself again.
Sanjaya's eyes widened as she saw who was approaching. Everyone in the Clan knew about the family and what had happened to them . . . and this handsome fellow was married?! How dare he not say anything about it.
Narrowing her eyes at Iggy than at Dre she gave a curtsy to Dierdre's mother, Lady Katarina Kavanagh. "Bless'd Feathers, Kavanagh." She greeted.
