Sabe felt a bit out of place here at the gates of the Palace of Hearts. It was uncomfortable for one just being here, and two for being off suit. Though he wasn't going to stop him, he had some fine silks and dyed silks to be delivred to the queen of the palace. He knew that these where to go directly to the queen herself, but he knew that they wouldn't let just anyone do it. It was probably going to be taken by one of the many workers of the Palace. He approached the gaurd on duty and spoke kindly, "I'm here with the delivery to The Queen." he said as formaly as he could. The money that he was going to recive from this delivery was going to buy him dinner for the night. He would have had the money else wise if he hadn't left Isolde everything that he owned, but he needed to get out of the Forest and see the world, and hopefully find that specail someone. He waited for long moments as the gaurd sent someone to do something...

The guard might have sent a messenger to check for where the package should go, but he was preempted by a particular arrival. The pair were, perhaps, almost peculiarly mismatched. She was a Ten of Hearts, and he an Ace of Spades; the only thing that could have been stranger would be if he was a Club instead. A pretty leash extended from an equally decorated collar that looped nicely around his scarred throat. The woman paused, instinctively or subconsciously striking something that could almost be called a pose. It wasn't a conscious decision, though, the slight pose a matter of training and a decision long, long ago to do this exact thing without thinking. She smiled at the guard, causing him to smile back happily. "Wot is this, Karlin?""A delivery for the Queen," the man smiled wider. "Oh?" Dre asked turning to eye the messenger curiously. A Club. Interesting. She smiled at the avian. "Welcome to the Court of Hearts, Mr. . . . ?"

The pose was nice to say, Sabe thought as he watched the odd pair walked near and closer to him. The ace and the ten was totally odd, but that didn’t bother the Kahmden avian in the least, he completely ignored the aces presence and looked to the falcon mix.
”I be Sabe.” he said curtly not wanting to disrespect the heart in anyway. This was the Palace of Hearts after all, but he didn’t have the time for all this idle chat… and it was apparent as he crained his longer neck to peer around to see if he could find the messenger… he was a tad bit hungry and in a hurry to get rid of this package of fine silks and dyes, things that he wished he could afford half the time now. He could if he saved up… but he didn’t have a use for it. Though his mind drew back to Isolde… she would look wonderful in it…
He looked back to the falcon horse mix and asked plainly, ”you wouldn’t happen to be de messenger would ye?”

Dre's head tilted to one side curiously as the guard shuffled beside her. She lifted a hand, showing a great deal more authority than a simple messenger probably should. "That is just one of my duties here in the Court." She dropped a suddenly elaborate curtsy, the dramatic movement not nearly as strange as it should be coming in a day-to-day set of circumstances.
The Ace snorted in derision, but, for now, said nothing. Which was actually fairly amazing, since the Tulgey Wood grison usually had something sarcastic to say about everything.
"Come then, Sabe," she beckoned to the lower-suited Card with an arched brow. "Let me lead you to where you should drop off your package."
She inclined her head to the guard at the gate, giving him one more pretty smile. "Have a good afternoon, Karlin."
He saluted her with another smile. "And you do the same, ma'am."

a'am."
Sabe saw the change in the guards appearance as the messenger did something… This was why Sabe didn’t come to the Hearts palace that much… they where some feisty bunch. When she motioned for him to follow he picked up his package and started after.
”I have told ye my name, would only be polite to tell me yers.” he said looking up at the falcon mix. She was quite the looker, but she just seemed too up tight for anything more than casual occasions…
He gave a sigh as he approached the large double doors. He will admit that he was a bit timid at the sight. This would have been the first time that he had the chance to enter this prestigious Court. The anxiety within himself was enough to make him shake a bit, not in fear but just in joy of something new… This was what he was after! New things in life. New experiences, and nothing was going to hold him back ever again.
So this be the Palace of the Hearts?”

Dre gave a low, melodious laugh. "Yes, it would be courteous if I did." And then she flicked her white ears back and forth mischievously and continued on down the gold-veined, white marble floors. Her wings remained folded along her back as she moved with an easy grace that almost made her appear as though she were dancing with such a simple movement as walking.
Drostan followed along behind the woman, not quite to the end of his leash and muttering unflattering things under breath about everyone in the area. He wasn't overly angry, just mildly annoyed that they were suddenly taking this detour.
Dre sent the heron another amused glance. "Yes, congratulations; you've found the Court of Hearts. Obviously this is just the Capital Palace rather than the full out Court back in the Highlands, but, still, good work on your part, hrms?" She seemed to find the whole thing vastly amusing.

Was she making fun of his intelligence? He thought about that for a moment coming up with blanks to the answers... most of them could be taken as offensive, and he was technically in the enemies territory. He gave a shudder.
”Umm… ma’am… why won’t ye tell me your name, are you being coy with me?” it was the most simplest thing that he could think of at the time… she must have been flirting with him or something.
He looked about the white gold inlayed marble and such... why was it taking this long to take this package? Why wouldn’t' woman just take it and deliver it to whatever queen it was going to. He looked about, it was a nice place though. It was better than any past place he had delivered too. He knew that there was probably more to this palace than just hallways and such.

Dre tossed another smile over her should, the look mysterious and bright. She was unaware of his thoughts, though she would have simply laughed off his assumption that she was flirting with him.
Drostan gave a rather put-upon sigh as they continued on their way through the halls. His mistress was evidently in a mood and that very rarely went well for anyone involved.
Today, however, the problem wasn't caused by her. A sudden scream ripped through the hall, and the hybrid paused, head slipping just to the side as her ears twisted to aim towards the sound. "Stay here," she said firmly, dropping the Ace's leash. "Don't let anything happen to Drostan." With that, the bipedal woman quickly darted towards the sound of the scream, even as another echoed the first.
Drostan growled as she darted off and he would head after her if Sabe didn't stop him.

Sabe was taken by complete surprise when he heard the scream throughout the halls. And her running towards the sound didn’t help either. When she dropped the leash of her pet did he quickly obey and pick it up in one of his talons. He was now holding the package tightly under one wing his head craned looking about trying to discover the source of the sound while holding the ace in check. He even braced himself for the jerk on the leash.
”Well what do ye think that is all about, ace?” he asked transferring the leash to his mouth holding it so he wouldn’t get it wet from his saliva. He started forward with carful strides, making sure that the ace wouldn’t get away from him.
”Werl… les get a moe on.” he mumbled not wanting the release the leash.
He silently wondered what could have happened. He hoped that whoever they where delivering this to wouldn’t be in some sort of trouble as he watched the flirtatious woman fly around the corner of the hall way.

Drostan made a displeased choking noise as he hit the end of his leash. He turned to glare balefully back at the Club, and the hallway swiftly turned icy chill with his rage. Normally he would have ignore the Card just as they often ignored him, but his concern and generally level of upset caused him to snap back. "I think something bad has just happened, AS ALWAYS IN THIS LIGHT FORSAKEN COURT, and my mistress is heading straight into it without a weapon! THAT'S wot I think!" He tugged at the edge of the leash, but it did nothing since the avian was prepared for it. At least they were heading in the correct direction. Dre quickly stepped into a room off the main hallway and found a young woman collapsed on the floor bawling her eyes out. She quickly kneeled beside the girl, head tilting as she reached out to start checking the girl over. Coming down the hall, however, directly towards the Club and Ace, a King of Hearts strode angrily as he muttered under his breath. His strange wings were mantled up over his back and he nearly seemed to breath agitation. When he looked at someone, it seemed as though he could read their minds, and he was staring now at the Forest heron with a dark, angry glare from his pupilless green eyes.
