The aces comment made Sabe flush at the cheeks... he hadn't really went to school when he was younger, he had much more important things to do than that. He had to deliver things that his mother wanted, such as medical stuff, gear, groceries, and several other things that his mother required... she was sick at the time and couldn't do all these things that she had once did. It was sad really.
He cleared his throat trying to get some bearing on his mood and his voice, "Thank you your Highness for your words of wisdom, and thank ye Dre for your education on this matter." he said without trying to choke on his own words. He was still deafly afraid, and it would appear that that didn't even bother them at all... it was as if they expected it.
He wondered what made a good king... or queen at that? Could he ever archive such an honorable position? Could he be nicer than these people could ever be?
It was something that he would strive to... it wasn't his fault that he was ignorant to their systems... or up to their education.

Dre beamed at the Kahmden avian at his thanks and quickly tilted her head at Sabe cheerfully. Drostan harrumphed and leaned into his mistress' leg with a sardonic twist of his lips. His scarred visage did not lend well to acceptance even if he had felt inclined to be more forgiving towards the heron.
Of the Cards present, it was probably only the Queen of Hearts, ironically or not, who finally saw the heron's reaction to them all. The stallion made a mental comparison before finally coming to a decision. "You've had a great deal thrown at you today," the human said. "Ira, get refreshments and have the secretary come in."
The King twitched his tail thoughtfully at his Mommy dearest, but finally bowed and trotted out without another word. He wouldn't be gone too terribly long, but at least Sabe would have a few minutes without at least one of the titled Cards in the room.

Indeed Sabe did seem a bit relived for having one less person to have to appease. It was almost great, and yet... there was a slight thanks that he would have spoken out about, though that could be taken the wrong way. They might just think that he didn't like any of them. It wasn't true. He did in fact like a few of them, especially Dre.
She had been here from the start and has removed him from hostile environments before. It felt good to have her looking a bit more cheery. He even ventured to smile himself. He did like to smile a great bit and this was one of those times where he could relax.
He thought about some of the topics that they had discussed. He started to work the words around in his head to better make them sound... so as to one not to sound ignorant nor intolerable.
"Your Majesty, would it be possible for me to ask a question?" he said looking at the queen himself. He just wanted to know this one answer. It would help him in the future to come.

Despite his Mommy Dearest's injunction, Ira went right be the secretary's desk and ignored the Car there entirely. Instead of sending a servant, a relief for Sabe whether or not he was aware of the action, the King went off to the kitchen himself to set up the refreshments.
Dre stretched out her wings and slipped off to one side so she could drop into a chair. Drostan followed after his mistress and sat down by her legs, actually nearly on her feet. She perked her ears with interest at the heron's question, though she certainly wouldn't interfere unless she needed to.
The Queen's gaze shifted from the door back to the Club and he forced a polite smile when his mind was still on his eldest son. "Of course you may," he answered easily. A quick inspection of the other man's face revealed that he didn't seem quite as overwhelmed as he had just a short while ago.

Sabe took a gulp as he was abut to embark onto very thin ice, and yet... so long as their were less and less people in the room the more comfortable that he would feel. He looked up to the queen and spoke with even tones.
"Would it be at all possible for someone like me to raise to the rank of king or even a queen?" he asked as he started to feel embarest. It was an uncomfortable feeling... he was half afraid that they would tell him no and smash his dreams of ever becoming someone great one of these days.
He looked away for a second wondering when these so call refreshments where suppose to arrive. When they would get here he would think that he would need a nice tall glass of something to clear his parched throat.
He awaited for the answer.

If he had been in either his animal or bipedal forms, Shinrai's ears would have twisted backwards in surprise. As he was in human, however, his only reaction was to simply stare at the heron thoughtfully for a long moment.
From her place, Dre giggled and smiled at the Kahmden without rancor. "Of course it's possible for you to rank up, you silly goose," she said brightly. "Anyone can. We all have the capability." She didn't seem to fully understand the ramifications of his question.
From beside her, Drostan rolled his eyes, though this time it was at his mistress. "Not everyone can." His reference, of course, was towards his own Ace status and unrelated to Sabe.
Rai decided he needed to step in before Dre said something unfortunate for them all. "Yes, as my granddaughter has said, it is possible for virtually anyone to rank up." He gestured towards his chest, though his rank was covered by his shirt. "I did, after all." He smiled at that thought, but it quickly slid away again. "That doesn't mean it's easy, however. And, generally, ranking up will encourage others to view you differently." His tone implied, however, that this wasn't always a good thing.
(( Sorry for the vanishing act. xD; *tries to return to SoD* ))

Sabe nodded in his respect for their words, ignoring the aces. The ace was just made because he was born one. He though was born a seven and already risen to a nine. He was just as happy that he was were he was now.
He looked at the Queen before him. Thats what he wanted to be, he would take all the pressure that one could give because of the power that followed it. For it would be well worth the risk of himself. That he could one day become great and powerful. It would make his dreams come true.
He smiled for once in the office with all the face cards, and ace. He smiled at his own thoughts, but he also understood that he could rise through the ranks and become something far greater than what he was right then and their. That he could one day become a Queen himself in the courts.
"I thank ye, for you have shown me that one day that I could achive a point in me life where I can become great and powerful." he paused... "Who knows... one day I might just join the Court of Clubs becomeing one of the Queens or might just become The Queen of Clubs." he said with youthful pride within himself.
He then started to laugh at his own words...

Dre gave a small laugh with Sabe's own humour, though Rai didn't look nearly as amused. He did, at least, have an expression of distant condescension. This would, of course, be explained by his close friendship with The Queen of Clubs, though few in the room would be privy to this relationship.
Ira came back into the room then, not bothering to knock, and bowed suddenly to his father. "Refreshments await in the front parlour."
The Queen nodded to his firstborn and said to Dre, "Take the messenger, then, Dre and see that he has a rest before returning to his duties." It was an obvious dismissal as the stallion then returned to his desk.
Dre dropped a curtsy and pulled Sabe around as they headed for the door. "Come on, then, Sabe!" she said merrily. "We shall refresh you and send you off!" Drostan followed at his mistress' heels as Ira waved good-bye cheerfully behind them.
