Dre’s sharp salute with the glaive made him jump to the side, yet it was unnecessary he thought that it was really going to hit him… just the scary cat in him.
Well the Heron didn’t hear the hybrid come through the halls at this time so he was all good with just standing there waiting to deliver the package that he had had all this time. He was just content that he was here and now with the package and was going to be getting rid of it sooner or later. Sabe didn’t see any of this as fun or anything… he was on the job today, yet one of these days he wouldn’t have minded to just look around and have fun while chatting with many of the people that lived and worked here.
He looked to the card with the strange eyes, ”So how about that question? Where did you get eyes like that?” he asked again…
He could barely hear something coming through the halls but he wasn’t concerned with it just yet… there was guards here after all.

One of Ira's ears twitched once but he kept his eyes fixed on the heron as the woman finally stepped through the next portal and tugged her Ace along behind her. The guard closed the door and Dre dropped a curtsey to the Queen of Hearts, with a bright smile, as Drostan inclined his head deeply to the Card.
The King of Hearts shifted his weight off of his right hind leg, resting the foot against the decorated carpet as he eyed the delivery man for another long moment. "Genetics, actually," he said lightly, as though it was nothing. He gave a dark smile, a look that perhaps didn't fit a herbivore so well. It could just be his personality coming out, though. "Did you not inherit any quirks from your parents?"
The study was oddly empty now, leaving only the secretary and guards and the two Cards. He came rolling in as though a flood, growling in a dark, angry voice, "IRA. Where is it?!"

Genetics, well that made a lot of since. He nodded to the answer and decided to press forward with his questions, well that was before he Ira spoke again.
"Well, I don...." he was about to finish up with what he was going to say, something about their love for fish... well Sabe was no scientist. He turned to look at what had caused the uproar in the room, and he was totally at a loss for him again... the yellow hybrid that he had meet long ago... well not too long... but earlier in the morning. He thought that with such a big Palace he wouldn't have to come meet him again... he quickly backed up to the wall... close to a guard. He wasn't in any mood to get in anyone’s way tonight.
He lowered his eyes so not to tempt the hybrids rath today, something just told him that would be the best course of action. Now he wished that Dre was here with her glaive.

The guards may or may not be the most useful in this situation; it would be easy to see the fine tremble shaking along the man's hands. Sabe wasn't the first one Se had frightened and it was highly unlikely the Kahmden would be the last.
Though, Dre would have been quite pleased to know that Sabe was wishing she and her glaive were there. As it was, she was busy going over her notes with the Corvistownieans and the Queen of Hearts as Drostan sat by a chair near the door and fought a need to yawn. Negotiations were boring, no matter how important they were.
"Hello, Se. I'm assuming it's in your room." For all that it sounded as though the full equine King knew exactly what the hybrid King was talking about. Of course, he didn't, but usually this was fine.
Se's ears flattened and he snarled suddenly at one of the guards. The Eight of Hearts tightened his grip on his sword. The man's wings mantled and he tensed for a moment before lunging at the guard near Sabe. He did not, however, seem aware of the heron.
Ira stepped suddenly and smoothly between the two Cards, his strange smile still in place. "Wot are you looking for, Se?" he asked, working to distract the King before something. . . fatal occurred.

Now things were starting to get a bit harry, and Sabe didn’t like that at all. He wished that this Se would find what he was looking or and leave before things got more physical, he kept repeating what his mother had taught him at a young age, hoping that he wouldn’t find the need to use it, but if he was going to he would need to have it on hand when something started to come towards him.
It was a sound plan, the yellow hybrid jumped towards him and the guard that was standing there, he hadn’t noticed the guards tensing for whatever reason. He just knew that Se was jumping for him, so he moved off to the side near the desk…
Today wasn’t going as planned for the Kahmden full heron, this day just seemed to get more confusing and baffling the further it went along, and why did these sort of things always seem to be attracted to him… or was it just that time of the month where everyone thought that it would be best to pick on poor Sabe?
It would seem though that Ira knew what was happening, and seemed quite capable to fix whatever it was that was the matter with Se. He just wished that no one was going to get hurt today, and that he wouldn’t have to use some of his defensive spells to keep both him alive and anyone else… the one thing that he hated more than having a package late… was having his life taken from him… and he didn’t want to see the later happen.

Happily oblivious to what was occurring just beyond the door, Dre continued to go over the paperwork as Drostan let his eyes rove the office thoughtfully and allowed his mind to wander. For now, he too was unaware of what was happening in the outer office.
"I can't find it," the yellow King snarled, forward movement arrested by Ira's appearance before him. He was careful to not run into his eldest brother, even though he could take the man now. At least physically. Se had no idea what abilities Ira had now. It didn't matter, though; Se could take his brother down.
"Where all have you looked?" Ira asked calmly instead.
The question seemed to baffle the King and his eyes searched the room as though realizing for the first time that they had an audience. His eyes narrowed, yet he seemed to disregard the others just as quickly as it occurred to him that they were there. "I checked. . . . around."
"Have you asked Iggy?" the teal stallion began to slip towards his youngest full brother, encouraging the other man to move away from the Cards. He moved with the other King and did not seem to notice that he was being carefully herded. As long as no one made any movements or sounds, everything would be fine.

Well it would have seemed that the teal stallion was all right in the world of handing the yellow hybrid king. Sabe didn’t know what to do at this point. Should he move or should he stay as still as possible… whatever came to mind was fleet to grab. Well… moving around had saved him thus far… and if he held still then it would make for an easier target for Se to grab a hold of.
So his mixed thoughts started to weigh the possibility of getting hurt in the process… it looked as if the stallion was moving the other away from the cards, and was handling it quite well as a matter of fact. So the Kahmden heron stood there like a statue like the other guards were doing… he could feel as if the king, if he wished could end most of their lives here and now, but would he attempt it right outside the queens study? Was he that daft?
Well Sabe wasn’t going to test it… he wondered what Dre was doing right now… it must have something to do with all the paperwork that she had towed in after her. He shrugged and waited for the hybrid to be taken out of the outer study before he would even say a word.
Whatever Se was looking for was probably enough to hurt anyone in his way... what ever it was, he hopped for whoever stolen it to have a good since of mind to put it somewhere... else they would have one very unhappy king on there hands.

Done with her pitch-- had all of tha twork really only given her a few minutes of talk time?-- Dre backed up to the door and stood quietly there as she shamelessly eavesdropped on the final round of negotiations. She dropped a hand to Drostan's head and the Ace glanced up at her with red eyes before returning his gaze to the group at the desk.
Se gave a low growl, deep in his chest yet again. "I can't find my mind," The words without background would make little sense, except, of course, in that they could reassure the listener that any conclusions towards thinking that Se was utterly and absolutely crazy. Such a conclusion was likely very close to true.
Ira tilted his head towards his younger brother and made a thoughtful sound. "I'm sure it's around here somewhere," he announced in a very reassuring voice. "I know it's not here, though."
Se's whole body tensed again and he snarled in a low voice, "Is he here?"
Ira looked grave and finally nodded. "Yes, I think he's just about done, too."
The yellow hybrid made a noise of disgust and turned towards the door that Ira had managed to get him next to.

Sabe knew right then and there that Se had truly lost his mind. Anyone that would state that out in the obvious had to truly lose it. He wasn't going to say it aloud though, that would only bring the wrath of the hybrid on to the poor heron.
When he heard Se mention that he was here did he tense up as well. Did the hybrid have something against him? Did he do something wrong earlier... Sabe didn't know any of these answers and wasn't going to stick around wondering about them either. It was just Se, the Teal Stallion, and himself in here... he knew the guards didn't really count. They just stood there when the Yellow king attacked one of them... it would seem that he was the most feared of the palace... probably from his wrath and the such.
He didn’t want to move any more… he had already tempted death once… or was it twice today? Well this sure did make it at least three times! He thought…

Ira's ears cocked backwards briefly and he swiftly herded his youngest full brother out the door. "Try your room again," he advised lightly. "Or the gardens. He also likes the library." Behind him, he heard the knob turn.
Se gave a small nod of his head and walked off, forepaws making little sound against the marble as his hooves clicked decisively. He did not look back at his eldest brother.
Ira turned back to the study to see Dre holding open the door for the Corvistowneian delegation. She smiled brightly at the King then glanced questioningly towards the frightened heron. Again she seemed to have missed something rather important. Drostan stuck his head out as well as Ira stepped back into the office.
"Thank you for your time, gentlemen and ladies," the stallion said cheerfully. "Sabe, you can go in now. Dre, please escort."
