He gave a small chuckle as he heard the ruckus in the kitchen start back up again. He felt sorry for the Sparrow... she did have her hands full.
Sabe turned his attention back to Dre just as she spoke, "One could say that, Miss. Dre, yet I be finding myself spending more times throughout all the regions tan just home." he said with the same amount of politeness that she offered to him. He looked about the wonderful looking palace. It was truly a special to be here in the Palace of the Hearts. This would be his first time, and yet here he stood... getting nearly killed, then fed, followed by some weird kids that didn't take a joke, and a messenger that... well she was nice...
"Have ye been here at the palace for long, Miss. Dre?" he asked politely, wondering if she really lived all her life here like she knew others did in this courts.

"I've been here for three days," the woman answered, still smiling. "Thank you for asking. It must be interesting being a delivery Card, especially if you do inter-region deliveries. Which region do you favour the most?"
For once it seemed as though things were going Sabe's way; they made their way through the hallways without incident. Perhaps this is what the Court of Hearts was truly like. The woman did, however, called for a stop suddenly.
"Oh, if you don't mind, wait here for just a minute." She didn't actually wait for a response, disappearing into a room suddenly and closing the door behind her.
Drostan snorted in annoyance when he got shut out of the room with Sabe. The Ace sat down suddenly and gave a frustrated sigh. Of course, he knew why they were here, but the heron would not.

Three days!? That wasn’t long to be working or living in the Palace of the Hearts. Sabe could answer her question quite easy enough though… yet it was a bit over eccentric. ”That would be quite easy to be saying, it would have to be the Highlands and Villa en Miir.” he said truthfully. The Highlands were a wonderful place, and the Villa was just a wonderful place with beautiful people.
He was going to attempt strike up a conversation but the hybrid quickly excused herself into a room. Apparently another stop along the way…
He looked to the ace and said simply, ”What be in there of importance? I thought we were going to deliver this package without incident…” he said with a bit of a sigh and looked around for a place to sit. Lucky enough there was many benches here in the palace for those that had been walking around… and needed a rest… so he moved over to one and took a seat.

Drostan glanced up at the heron and decided that this must be a rhetorical question. It was amusing how those who hated his presence would talk to him when no one else was around. Nevertheless, he snapped back, "Maybe she had to pee." Let the bird take that one and shove it up is tail.
Dre picked up the stack of paperwork she'd completed a few hours ago for her father and found a satchel to tuck it away in. She carefully slung it over one shoulder and glanced more around her room to be certain there was nothing else she needed. After a moment of hesitation, she collected her glaive as well. Her eyes saddened for a brief moment as her free hand gently pet down the golden tail attached to the weapon. She missed her siblings terribly. Her eyes hardened and she re-arranged her features back into her public mask.
She stepped back out into the hallway, giving the two males a bright smile. "Let's continue!" And she started down the hallway again.

Sabe gave a shrug at the aces words, yet they had passed a few public restrooms already... so he figured that this must have been her personal room. He hated the fact that now he knew of it, for the heron had a good memory of locations and names. There wouldn't be another time that he wouldn't have forgotten Dre's name or her uncle’s.
The Kahmden heron gave a smile in return yet, skirted away from the glaive that she had brought back out with her. Its golden tail looked oddly real... and the blade was defiantly sharp. Sabe never cared for weapons, he was a total pacifist and only believed in working with his powers only to defend himself, which he found that he really didn't have to use... as long as he kept his beak clean and his nose out of everyone’s business.
He followed after her, making sure to keep an eye on the weapon... he was really skittish of anything that could inflict pain, for Sabe had no spine for violence.
"umm... what be dat weapon for?" he said hesitantly.

With her return with a bag and a weapon in tow, there was an equally good chance that she had just stopped by a study or some other workspace as her own personal quarters. She hadn't invited the Ace in, at least, and logic dictated that he lived in the same place as her.
In any case the Highlander mix twirled the glaive expertly in reply to Sabe's question. "Like most weapons, it's a problem solver." It had already solved several large problems in her life and she was very fond of her weapon. Her hand played up and down the shaft in an absent-minded caress.
Drostan trotted along behind his mistress ignoring the heron again now that Dre was back and could keep the man's attention.
Her current rooms were, fortunately not that far from the Queen's study. They would arrive in just a few minutes, giving them very little time for political discourse.

Sabe had a fear of weapons of any sort... and them being called a problem solver was beyond him. That usually meant that the wielder was a fan of violence... which Sabe had no heart for, he was a man of words and flight... not of weapons and standing your ground.
"Ye know... not all weapons are meant for solving problems... some are for defense and stalling." he wasn't going to mention that he was deadly afraid of sharp weapons or even the blunt ones at that. He didn't want to appear to be some big pansy... so he wasn't going to state his discomfort with them.
And they were not truly far away from the Queen's study, the heron could already tell from the busy traffic that they were approaching closer now to the room that they had sought all morning. He just hoped that the Queen had enough time to see to them, so he could drop off the packages that the had for her, he never had the opportunity to meet a queen before... even one just of rank and not title.

Dre sent Sabe a strange smile, one that held dark knowledge and untold secrets. "Not all problems need be solved fatally," she answered quietly, Her head tilted to one side as she saw the door to the Queen's office. The guards there were quick to direct the traffic to and from the main study. They'd caught one of the rush hours, it seemed. Something must have gone wrong; the Queen of Hearts was generally very careful to keep his office clear of most foot traffic. She finished her thought as they stepped to the door. "They just usually are." The guards let her in without argument, too busy talking over some of the Cards clamoring for attention to be bothered with someone they knew and who obviously knew what she was doing. Drostan followed after her and her lack of checking back might prove her belief that Sabe was going to keep up. They entered the outer offices of the Queen of Heart's study, where a tired looking secretary was taking notes from the teal stallion standing beside her. He finished his thought as they entered and smiled. "Dre, we've been expecting you for nearly an hour."She smiled in greeting at the man. "I found a messenger for you."The King of Hearts turned to eye the heron thoughtfully, a brief pulse of interest that faded from something unnerving to just plain friendliness. "Have you now. Who are you?" The last was directed to the delivery man.

Sabe didn’t notice the smile that withheld information from him; he was one of those birds that if someone wanted to tell you something then they would… no need in attempting to pull something out of someone. He just wasn’t like that…
When he noticed all the foot traffic and the, the Kahmden heron didn’t question it at all… he suspected that it got this busy here in the Palace of Hearts, so it didn’t seem at all odd to him. Though he made sure to follow closely behind Dre… else he having to tell everyone why he was here and all that.
When the equine asked him about whom he was, Sabe also took it as what he was here to do as well.
”I’m Sabe of Safe Delivery Company, and I be having a package to deliver to the Queen.” he said a bit formally. He noticed again that this one had weird eye color and a marking underneath; he had only seen this once before and wondered what it could possibly mean. He wasn’t going to ask right off the back though… it was probably some rather weird mutation that he may not want to talk about.
Yet…
His curiosity got to him, ”If you don’t mind, would you mind telling me about that strange marking under ye eye and the abnormal eye color?” he asked not wanting to get too offensive about it, and he didn’t want to get on the Kings bad side.

Ira's ears twitched at this strange question, amused that this was probably the very first time anyone had ever flat-out asked. He turned his head towards the avian/equine mix though his eyes remained firmly on the heron. "Dre, go ahead and bring in the papers. The Corvies are in there right now and they'll need that information."
Dre came to attention, saluting almost carelessly with her glaive, though her control of the weapon was actually excellent. She tugged at Drostan's leash. The Ace gave a soft sigh and, of course, followed his mistress. Ira gave the Tulgey a light tap on his side as he went back, something that was, supposedly, an affectionate pet.
Coming through the hall, the same winged hybrid was storming forth on the rolling crowd of his own inner rage. Again. His pupilless eyes flashed death to any who dared get in his way.
