Femi had never in her life said 'no' to an offer of pancakes, and she wasn't about to now. She made a happy little squeaking noise and nosed at his chin, burrowing into his embrace happily before he got up. She'd never expected that the doll man she eventually found would be able to cook! "That would be lovely, Kazifel."
She also loved breakfast in bed. It meant she got to stretch leisurely and roll around and generally rumple up the already messy blanket before getting up to do anything. Even if it was technically breakfast for dinner in bed, it felt just as good and the taste was just as good too. By the time he came back up with a tray of food, she was sprawled out over both halves of the bed and her tail covered a parallel stretch of pillow. She giggled and rolled to a sitting position when she saw him come in.

Tray in hand he came up with a set of pancakes for her and a set of pancakes for him. It even had her favorite topping. "I see you've been keeping the bed nice and warm." He grinned as he gave Femi the tray.
He took his plate off and sat at the foot of the bed so he could face Femi. He didn't have a need for a tray, he had mastered the art of just eating from a plate. He was briefly reminded of when his sister was alive and he used to cook for the pair of them. Why did he still have to think about his past when he had Femi and the children to think about? Was he really still that broken? Why couldn't he just get over himself and forget all the awful things?
Thankfully Femi wouldn't notice his internal battle as he gobbled down his own pancakes.

Femi was far too wrapped up in the fluffy deliciousness of her own pancakes to do more than give her husband a happy kiss before digging in. She couldn't imagine a better way to end a long but satisfying weekend and she knew she would just want to curl up and drift off to sleep with a full belly once she was done. Tray balanced precariously on her bipedal knees, she licked the plate clean of the gooey topping and beamed. "Love, that was delicious. I swear, yous are even better than Daddy's now - just don't tell him I said so or he might get jealous." With a giggle, she pushed the tray onto a bedside table and stretched out next to him, petting the fur of his nearest leg.
"Do we have anything else to do before we can go to bed?" she asked him with a small yawn, only half-faked. Odd how yawns decided to take hold of you when you so much as thought about them.

Yeah. Right. Like he would tell her father any such thing. He couldn't help but grin at the thought of him being jealous though. He shook it off rather quickly when Femi stretched out to pet his nearest leg. "All I have to do is clean the dishes, which won't be that difficult."
He found himself yawning for real. Things were contagious. Then again he could always do the dishes in the morning. He would at least have to run them downstairs before going to be though.
The wolf took the last bite of his meal. Leaving the plate as clean as it had started. "Let me run these down stairs and then we can sleep peacefully for once." There would be no screaming children or anything of the sort. The could deal with that tomorrow night and the nights that followed. The wolf's tail wagged a bit. He was looking forward to a good night's sleep.

"Uninterrupted sleep," Femi agreed, the words emphasized by a relieved sigh. Such sleep was usually on short supply with their children. She waited for him to come back up after dropping off the dishes and curled around him, drifting off fairly quickly. It really had been a long day with all the walking.
She slept like a furry white rock, shifting and moving as was usual but staying asleep throughout the night. When she woke up, she felt worlds better. All that Club sleeplessness - no, she didn't have any of that, nor did she want it. She liked sleep, even if she hadn't always gotten it consistently. Having children made it even less consistent, especially with them so young and unable to entertain themselves for very long. The thought of leaving them alone for extended periods of time and having them wreak havoc on their room and each other was an unnerving one, to say the least.

Sleep was something Kazifel rarely got properly. He enjoyed it when he could actually sleep, and waking up was a horrible pain. Of course he couldn't just stay in bed all day. He had things to do, and they had to pick up the children.
He rolled out of bed, brushing his fur straight briefly before heading downstairs to make breakfast. It was something besides pancakes since he used all the batter last night, but it it was still a nice breakfast in bed.
Once that was out of the way Kazifel washed the dishes, and debated on what type of cake he wanted to bake for Femi. Obviously it would have some sort of nut in it. However he needed to figure out if it was going to be chocolate and so forth, and it would probably be best to figure all of it out before the kids came home.
They had to pick them up soon, didn't they?

Being pampered by her husband was a wonderful way to start a morning, Femi mused. It had been a while since they were able to do that without also catering to whiny, hungry, mischievous, playful, or just plain loud children. Getting the house ready had been a fantastic reprieve. These weekends were going to be just as good, she thought, whenever she could swing them with her parents.
She went to get ready for the day, spraying on some perfume her mother had given her to freshen the fur and tone down the ever-present scent of 'wolf' that clung to her like a second skin. She'd come to really like it, but her father always started off in a tetchy mood if she didn't at least moderate it when she came over. A pink bow went around her waist like a sash, mimicking the bow on her human dress. The children would have fun grabbing and pulling and tugging and ripping it off later, but that was half the fun and she was ready to turn this one over to them anyway.
"Ready to go, love?" she asked him with a smile.

Kazifel perked up from drying the last of the dishes that he had been neglecting. "In one second!" he called as he slipped the dish in it's proper place and grabbed his coat and detached sleeves. He put them on as quickly as he could, and headed to the door to greet Femi.
"Ready! I hope the kids were well behaved for your parents, or at least, I hope Rose didn't destroy anything important." Oh how she loved to cling to things and destroy whatever she touched. They wouldn't be able to have nice glass things until she grew out of the "destroy everything" age. Of course that probably wouldn't be until she hit her preteens, but Kazifel could wait that long if he had to. Long before then he'd be able to get back to making his dolls properly.
He let Femi do the leading when they got to the front door. He could never tread to lightly when her father was involved.

When they arrived, it turned out that Alphonse had a fantastic weekend with the kids. Her mother had gotten sick with a cold midway through the first day and stayed in her room so as not to spread it. Also, she wanted to suffer in peace rather than crawling with young, energetic, easily contaminated children. Yvette had kept them entertained when when the squirrel wanted a break, and vice versa, with Mr. Jingles staying in their room at night to keep an eye on them and make sure they didn't choke each other or something else easily prevented. They all loved the Ace, even Alphonse, who didn't seem to like anyone near him besides his parents and grandfather. He'd tried to bite Aunt Josephine more than once when she got too close.
Femi collected them with coos and squeals of happiness. She'd missed her babies! Thyme stopped her brawl with one of her sisters to run over and attack the ribbon-end dangling tauntingly behind her and she just giggled happily. They were their energetic little monsters, and she'd had enough sleep to deal with them just fine.
