((OOC: <3 Ku-chan, I didn't know if you wanted to join or not, you're the question mark. )) Loreta was sober for once in a long while. Unfortunately for her she was on the job and utterly lost. The message she was supposed to deliver was still sitting in her bag. The heron honestly thought she had known all the places in the city, but she was obvious quite wrong. She didn't even know what district she was in. No wonder her boss gave her one assignment. She cursed softly as she hopped down the street a few paces. "Where the hell does this person live?" she muttered to herself. The heron had never actually heard of the street. Someone had pointed her in the right direction, but there was still nothing. How the hell could a street not exist? She could fly. That might be easier. However she often flew when she knew where she was going. When she didn't she had to stop for street signs and house numbers every so often. That's how it was turning out this time around. Only the street didn't exist where it was supposed to exist. "Excuse me!" she said to the closet person to her, a feline with antlers. "You wouldn't happen to know where Walter street is?"Who in their right mind named a street Walter? No wonder it was impossible to find.

Dilis had snuck out to the Capital City again; her father would sure have her antlers if he knew where she had been going. She liked to go to town and listen to everyone planning for the day and making friends... things she didn't normally have... father would not allow such foolery. As Dilis was wandering the streets, listening in on others conversations... she was jolted out of her dreaming by a voice. " Excuse me! "You wouldn't happen to know where Walter street is?" She didn't have a clue where this heron needed to go but she looked so lost and defeated that Dilis felt duty to help any way she could. "I'm sorry, I don't but I wouldn't mind helping you find your way. It would be a shame for you to keep wandering around aimlessly alone. My name's Dilis, what's yours?"

Wow. Someone nice, and someone who didn't bother to stare at her lack of leg. Obviously she was pretty young and naive to do something like that, but at least she was willing to help. Loreta was horribly lost if she wanted to admit it or not.
She sighed before speaking to the feline, "Call me Lore." She paused, "You do know wandering around aimlessly or not is going to be a tad bit slow. I have one leg and all. I have a feeling if I fly I'd lose you just like I lost my way here. Might just be best to part ways."
The heron was realistic when it came down to it. Dragging someone with her was probably a bad idea when she was making a delivery, but the feline didn't know that and Loreta didn't feel like explaining. "You seem like a sweet little girl, why would you want to tag along with me?"

"Well... it's rare that I find someone who will speak with me so I guess I am grateful and I just want to give you my thanks and help any way I can. You seemed in trouble so I knew I needed to at least offer my help whether or not you accepted. Whether you have one leg or not doesn't really matter because it seems you can get around just as well as anyone. I hadn't even really noticed until you brought it up really."
Dilis had seen many interesting types on her voyeuristic excursions so it wasn't all a shock to see someone with one leg. In fact, Dilis herself had been stared at many times for her antlers. She knew what it was like be under ridicule and she didn't want to do the same thing this heron, Lore.
"If you wouldn't mind, we could just try walking down a little ways and see if we can find it ourselves. If not, we might even happen along someone who knows where to go."

"Okay then. S'pose we should get going then. I have a package here to deliver and no one at the office could give me proper directions," the heron said with a shrug. This little kitty girl was strange, and Lore wouldn't remember her name if it came up and bit her in her tailless ass. It figured as much.
She began to hop down the street. She imagined it was quite a weird sight. Not like she ever cared about the scenes she made in public. The world could go screw itself for all she cared. The bird still couldn't grasp how the hell the feline didn't have friends and all that nonsense. She seemed cute enough. Probably had overprotective parents and all that shit. Something that Loreta had never been graced with, or cared to be graced with. "What is someone like you doing wandering the streets, anyway?"

"Oh dear, that's strange they would send you out and not clearly tell you where you are going. I hope they didn't expect you to get there a certain time, that would be unreasonable." Dilis hated irresponsibility and though she didn't know all the circumstances to the heron's plight, it sounded like a large dose of it.
Imagine, sending someone out and not giving clear directions. If someone had asked her to do that she would have been asking everyone she saw where to go. But, Lore didn't seem the type; so far she had only really asked Dilis for help and since then either didn't notice or didn't care about the others walking around.
It was a curious thing for someone to be nice to Dilis, whenever father had said no to something if she pressed, he would send her away to anywhere really. Just as long as she was out of his sight, he hadn't cared where she went.
As she was in thought, she realized Lore had spoken. "What is someone like you doing wandering the streets, anyway?"
"Well, you see father has these... episodes. He gets really sad or upset with me and I have to leave the house during the day. I usually just come here to read and people-watch and stare at the clothing shops. It's not particularly quiet to most people but to me, it's better than my house. Also, you can see the most interesting people when you are listening, rather than talking." Dilis said seemingly without breathe, people usually were very curious about her... but on the other end, they never seemed to care to ask. Lore seemed nice though and so far, Dilis liked her.

"At the office they call it the invisible street. Every single time we have a delivery to it the messenger gets lost. I thought they were joking but apparently not," Loreta said with a huff. Why had she been put on this stupid message? It's not like she was one of the Spades or anything. They could have gotten this job done twice as fast as she could, after all it involved walking. Bastards. She better get a better delivery next time.
The heron cocked her head at the feline's statement concerning her father. Well he sounded stupid. "Your father sounds like a pansy. My dad's a Torq, and even with his episodes he didn't take it out on the family. Well, he took it out on me when I pecked his eye out, but that's because he took my leg and I was fed up with being crippled. Completely different situation." The heron waved a wing dismissively. "Let's get moving."

Giving a long sigh the small female mouse continued to wonder her way down the semi-crowded streets of the Capital. It was a habit she had apparently picked up from her father, unbeknownst to her. She stopped by a window that held a display of dolls, pausing she admired them for a moment. Iphis would love the one with the blue dress, she thought absentmindedly. After she had filled her curiosity she continued on her way. Her Papa was busy with his shop today – something about being short staffed again. More then likely Asher was causing more problems. She giggled to herself at the thought of what Asher might be doing to cause problems now. Her mom was out getting drunk with Teacher-Mnem again, leaving the kids to be cared for by Aiolos. She had decided she had better things to do with her time and had escaped as soon as she was able. I could go look at a plant shop! she thought excitedly. Turning in the direction of the shop she knew had a good variety of plants she spotted something that distracted her from her self-appointed mission. A feline . . . with horns! The only person she had seen with anything like that was her Papa and brother. Interested in the creature, who seemed to be in company with a bird with one leg, she began to follow them good naturally.

""Invisible street", ay? If it's invisible then how does one know when they are on it? The least they could do is mark the street normally if they expect to get packages. The nerve..." Dilis felt the heron's plight and admittedly was getting frustrated with her boss too.
Not wanting to cause trouble she changed the subject quickly. "Heh, I like you; you aren't afraid to speak your mind. I've never been able to do that. A.. torq? what does that mean?" She didn't want to sound stupid but she hadn't been anywhere else other than Avington and Capital City so really it surprised her when others told her they were from other places.
As she was talking with Lore, she noticed out of the corner of her eye a small mouse that seemed like they were following them. Seemed only because Dilis' paranoid nature could have been running away with her again. Being the curious soul she was, she turned around.
"Ay, do you know where "invisible street" is? We're terribly lost and would appreciate the help." Dilis had more tact than to come out and ask if they were following them.

"Torquehelm, the creepy place that I come from? You're pretty sheltered if you don't know your regions." Loreta raised her brow. It was a good think the cat like her frank way of speaking. The heron nearly tripped when the cat spoke to the person behind them.
She didn't notice of course. She wasn't the most observant of people. "Walter street. We need to go to Walter street," Loreta corrected. She craned her neck around to see who Dilis was looking at. It was a mouse... with pointy cat ears? So what.... on earth was the cute little thing? "What's your name kid?"
Not like Loreta would remember. She was horrible with names. She couldn't ever remember the name of that guy she drank with on occasion. She just never could remember anything beyond "Whip" or some other random weapons that she could think of. Oh well. She still asked.
