That characteristic grin was quite firmly in place, his eyes twinkling with merry amusement. Everyone was happy, and that was something that always suited Hatter quite well. Company was so much more enjoyable when everyone was having fun.
Hatter paused for a moment, watching Loreta try on the necklace. It really did compliment her eyes. Once more that smile quirked his lips, a brow arching slightly. "I must agree: there's no fun in life without risk and that does suit you." Gold eyes... Always such an interesting quality to a Torquehelmer...
"A blind man, yeah? Are you trying to find a remedy for his sight?" From anyone but Hatter these words might've been rather condescending, but the eccentric tea lover displayed nothing but curious interest in his voice. His attention then shifted onto the subconsciously flirtatious female. "You're welcome, Dilis. Magic is quite fun, it'll be a pleasure to help you with it."
His attention danced to Gale then and his smile grew.
"What do you know about the tea pot so far, Gale? Or, rather, where did you get it?"

Loreta blushed under her feathers, well damn, that was fantastic wasn't it? Well it looked like she was going to where the necklace a little more often then. She supposed a little jewelry could do her some good. The heron murmured a hushed, "Thank you," to the Hatter and listened to Gale. He was quite a excitable man. Honestly she had no idea how someone could be that happy all the time.
"Of course you can have the plant little girl. I've had it since the shop opened a few years ago, and no one's bought it. Having a good home is something it needs to grow properly," He reached down to check the price on the book for Dilis. "You'll need to pay me six for it, you picked up one of the cheaper copies."
And now he focused his attention to hatter as he waited for a response from the feline. She would be a good customer later on, he hoped, but he had to wonder if she read the description on that music box. That damn thing had been resold to him over hundred times. Being cursed and all. But he had to focus on the teapot. "Well, a rather prestigious mage family had their hands on it. The last lady of the line said that it tended to have an unusual effect on her guests. They were a little more... sexual than usual. Enough so that the lovely lady was willing to sell it to me. Apparently it has no effect on the owner."
Loreta blinked, "What the hell sort of teapot is that?"
"Obviously a good one if you want some action, but apparently it depends on what tea you put in it." The eagle wiggled a finger. He had tested it a few times. It was certainly worth the buy.

Turning to look at the Hatter she gave him a smile from ear to ear. “I wish I could help him.” Even though she smiled her voice still held a small trace of her regret. “I try to help him out though, when I can.” She gave a nod of her head.
“Thankies!” she replied to Mr. Gale’s statement that she could take the plant home with her. “I shall be sure to take extra good care of it!”
Without completely thinking things through she wrapped her small arms around the plant, lifting it off the shelf. The weight was a little more then she had thought it to be. As she nearly she went backwards with it, she quickly caught herself. Glancing over and through the leaves she looked at the others sheepishly. Taking a breath she straightened her hold on the plant, adjusting it so that she held it more comfortably. She could handle the weight; she just had to think about it some at first.
“Thankies again! Walking over to the door she placed the plant down. She would let the plant rest here while she walked around the shop some more.

Dilis smiled at Hatter and then turned back to the shop owner. "Six? That seems fair enough." Dilis handed her money over to Gale. Before heading to the door, she went and looked back at the music box. Cursed, is it... those things don't scare me She thumbed through the book she had purchased quickly and stood over by Elyse. "That's a lovely plant, you picked out. I bet your parents will be very pleased." She smiled at her and picked up the plant. "That looks terribly heavy, let me help you carry it." It wasn't heavy for Dilis but she saw how poor little Elyse had struggled, she felt terribly seeing that.
"Loreta, I am very glad you made your delivery. You should learn not to worry yourself so much, things work out well for the most part." Dilis winked at Loreta. Though she was cranky, Dilis could see she had a good heart and she liked her very much.

Loreta's tone betrayed what her feather's hid and twisted Hatter's smile ever so slightly. Hatter flashed that winning smile of his, arching a brow in a manner that was both teasing and flirtatious...only before he could actually speak up he was distracted by Gale's cheerful and energetic explanation.
Now that was interesting! "Well well well... Is that so?" Something in Hatter's expression changed quite drastically. His mind had spun down a dark alley of thought and one would find Hatter smirking quite deviously if they glanced up at just the right moment. It had sexual properties, did it now? He would have to show Marchie once he got a chance to slip away! Abruptly he snapped back, that cheerful smile and jovial attitude returning in a flash. "It depends on the tea, 'eh? I'll have to experiment with that once I get home. Thank you, Gale!"
In reality it had only been a moment, just a flash of darkness that was there and then gone again just as quickly.
His gaze shifted from Gale, to the others in the room. Everyone seemed to have gotten something and they all appeared satisfied with their knicks and knacks. Which meant, if he was correct, that he might be able to slip away now and play with his delightful new teapot!
"I'm sure a dedicated little thing such as yourself will be able to help Mr. Eilwyn in time. Just keep at it, yeah?" He smirked and then glanced back toward Dilis who appeared to have taken an interest in a cursed Music Box. Ah well, explained why the pretty little doodad hadn't been snatched up yet. "Not afraid of curses then, are we, Dilis? Though I suppose that should be expected... Those who know little of magic are either terribly superstitious or...well, such as yourself, quite disbelieving. Just be careful with what you decide to play wit, curses are quite hard to remove."

"Oi, off we go I s'pose. I guess I should go back to the bloody Delivery Service to check in." Loreta sighed as she hopped off the counter and to the front door. Well, the only door that she knew of in the shop. She balanced carefully and opened the door with her head, waiting for the others to say what they had to say. Then she would be off in a flurry of feathers.
The shopkeeper grinned. "I assure you that curse is something to be afraid of. That's why it always comes back tot his place. Anyway, I hope you all come back some other time. I'm always getting new and interesting magical things." With a wave of his taloned hand Gale slipped back into the back room humming the whole way. What a lovely day it was. New people new sales and less items in his cluttered little magic shop.

She stared up at the feline tilting her head to the side. Giving a friendly smile she replied, “That would be lovely thank you!” It was always nice to find people that were kind.
“Oh I will, Mr. Hatter! I am going to do my very best and study hard to help Eilwyn and any of my other friends. You will see.” She gave a few hard nods with of her head. She would start her training tomorrow. Well she would actually go over to Mnem and ask her to teach her. That would solve her problems.
“Thank you again for the plant Mr. Gale. It was really kind of you to give it to me.” She gave him a quick bow before jumping up and down around her plant chattering to the feline. She wanted to go and show Mnem, Mommy, and Papa her new plant right now!

(if it's okay with you Kasatsu, I had wanted to bail out this post but I had written before about holding Elyse' plant so yea... kinda trapped myself XD)
"Cursed? Don't be silly. It can't hurt you, if you don't believe in it. But if it were real, it might be an improvement to my life." Dilis turned back to Elyse. "It's no problem, dear. Now lets get you where you need to be". She readjusted the plant and called to the others. "I will take Elyse home but after that I really need to be going home as well; I think perhaps father wanted me home awhile ago. It was lovely to meet all of you though, I hope we run into each other again." Dilis turned to Hatter, "I might just take you up on your offer to teach me sometime". She smiled and started to walk out the door, gesturing for Elyse to follow. "Come on sweetheart, lets go show this plant to your mommy."

Well, honestly... So much for that warning. Did he not just tell her not to play around with things she didn't understand? That they were more powerful than she expected? More dangerous? Curses especially so. He tapped his foot on the floor but allowed her to leave without fighting her. If she wanted to go and be thick-skulled about it, she could. Time and experience would teach her, as it taught everyone in the end.
"Good day Dilis, Elyse... I hope we meet again, ladies."
And then he was alone with Gale and with Loreta. Not a bad thing at all.
"I assure you I'll be back, Mr. Gale. I couldn't keep out if I wanted to." He laughed happily, eyes twinkling as they always did. Oh lord, he was so excited! He couldn't wait to try out his new tea pot! Gathering the box in his arms he tilted his attention to Loreta and burst into an even wider grin. "Let's be going then, shall we?"

Loreta choked back a happy sigh. However brief it was, she was alone with Hatter. Her school girl crush couldn't have been more apparent. She gave a wide grin before saying, "I hope to see you again. Next time I will hopefully be meeting you for a leg."
With those final words she gave a bow of her head, and flew off. There was no point in saying good-bye to Gale, she would probably make another delivery to him sometime. As for the girls? Well, things would happen eventually. She might meet them, she might not. She couldn't really remember their names for the life of her, but they were parting ways. Home again, home again.
The eagle simply waved to all his patrons. If they would be back they would be back. He could only hope, and right now he had to figure out what to do with his most recent delivery. Packages were always a great event.
