Fern was making an awful whimpering noise as she pulled on her leash. She was protesting quite a bit today. The eagle sighed as he tugged on her leash softly, "Stop that, Fern. It's bad enough that you bit Zane and got him angry with me you don't have to complain now that I'm walking you."She snorted in her typical manner of defeat. He rolled his eyes. She could be such a difficult bander when she wanted to be, but most of the time she was a sweetheart to Eilwyn. She had even begun to warm up to Asha. It was just everyone else that made her angry. She growled, but Eilwyn didn't stop walking like he was supposed to. He suddenly found himself falling head over heals, face first into the ground. He was still holding onto Fern's leash as well. She made a whining noise as she yipped at whoever Eilwyn had tripped over. It felt fuzzy from all he could really tell. "Sorry..." he said as he managed to struggle to his knees. Face planting still hurt just as it always did. It was just worse now that he was taller.

The day had been just too nice to pass up and thus he was out and about doing what he did best: causing mischief. Well . . . that was until someone used him for their stumbling log. He gave a yip of protest. He was more then aware that even though he was invisible to the world he did not defy the physical laws. And thus a bipedal bird falling over his small form was not a comfortable situation. Wiggling out from under the bird he reacted on natural instinct for a moment, his back arching and his tails held low, for what good it would do him. The small creature that was with him, a green Bander, was making yipping noises. Not giving a thought to if anyone was around that the bird could see him – for all he knew – he replied to the bird. “Do not worry yourself. I am used to being a stumble stool . . . though generally it is more I plan it to happen then it just happening. And you, creature, hush.” His tone was a little chiding though it seemed to hold a laughing quality to it of pure mischief.

Fern didn't like that tone. She snapped at the thin air around Asher until there was a sudden jerk of her collar. She gave another snort of defeat as she sat down and waited for her ungrateful owner to get up.
After a bit of a struggle the eagle managed to stand up. He looked around for the source of the voice, even if it was a moot point he didn't want anyone to know that he actually was blind. A bit of paranoia went a long way. Even if in this current situation didn't actually need the caution. Eilwyn had no idea he was talking to someone who was blind.
"Just because you're tripped over quite often doesn't mean that it's excusable for me to do so. I'm really quite sorry. I'm also sorry about Fern, she's not the friendliest." The eagle rubbed his nose with his free hand. His beak hurt quite a bit after that fall.

He gave a little laugh at the Bander as it was pulled away from its attack. It was a cute little thing and seemed to be protective of his owner.
The fox was not really bothered by the fact that the eagle seemed to search around for him before he, amazingly enough, actually placed his location. There were not many he had discovered who could locate his voice. He knew that the bird would not be able to see him, so he was not overly concerned by the matter. He was invisible after all, so the idea was prosperous. He was oblivious to the fact that the creature was bind, it was something that would never even occur to him.
Seeing that the eagle was rubbing his nose he asked, “Appreciated but no apologies necessary. Are you okay? You took a pretty big fall there.” His tone remained teasing as he said the last part.

"I'm fine, I think, unless I'm bleeding and don't know about it." Eilwyn was pretty sure if he was bleeding he could feel it. It was the one thing that Dad had been very emphatic about him learning how to know his limits, and that he shouldn't ignore pain. Dad worried a lot.
As long as nothing was broken, Eilwyn figured everything was fine. He couldn't feel blood in his feathers anyway.
Fern made a whining sound and nipped at her master's ankle. She wanted to get away from the voice as soon as possible. Eilwyn made an annoyed squawk as he pushed her away carefully with his foot.
"Are you all right? If I went down pretty hard I imagine I took you down with me." The bird sighed. He really wished he could see. It would solve a lot of problems with this tripping thing. The irony was he wouldn't have seen who he tripped over anyway. "Is there... anything I can do to make up for it?"

“I do not see any blood or what would appear to be broken bones, if that assures you.” His tails waved from side to side as he contemplated this strange creature before him. It seemed odd that the bird would ask someone else if he was bleeding. Surely he would know or be able to look himself. And he had not reacted in any of the same ways that everyone else did when the saw him – or the lack of him.
He was given the temptation to wave his hands in front of the avian’s face but then realized that it would not do him any good. Jumping up and down or making noises would only tune the bird into his location through sound.
Pondering over how to test the bird’s sight of him, or lack of as it should be, he replied to his question. “I am fine, nothing more then a bruise that will surely heal soon enough. It is only one more to the collection.”
Inspiration hit him on how to test the eagle. “If you are really tempted to make up for it . . . I am a little thirsty.”

That didn't sound good at all. "Well... I guess I could get you a drink... um... I don't know your name." Eilwyn said a bit embarrassed. He could feel a blush developing under his feathers. He choked back a sigh as he motioned towards a cafe not to far away. It was owned by a very nice lady that Aunty Calia had known from the Forest where she came from. She also knew that Eilwyn was blind, and had developed a rather nice tab system for him and his brother.
It was the same place where he met Lior quite some time ago. He wondered about that boy sometimes. He had sounded so depressed... but this wasn't the time to contemplate the past. He had tripped over someone after all. He had been doing a lot of that recently.
He walked over to the cafe and asked for a seat for two.
He got a very odd response from the woman who was seating them.
"Your brother's meeting with you then Eilwyn?" the waitress asked as she lead him to his usual seat.
"No... there's someone with me today."
"Besides Fern, I don't see anyone."
Eilwyn made a worried noise as he stared straight ahead of him. Had the boy he tripped over left? "But..."

He replied easily enough to the eagles request for his name. “You can call me Asher.” People seemed to sense that he was more real when they called out his name so generally he was more hesitant to give it out, though he was interested to see if it had any affect on the eagle. After all what good did it do you to be invisible if one sense you were real?
He could not help but chuckle a little as the waitress responded in the normal fashion he received around people. He was relieved when the waitress proceeded to find them a seat, though she gave the bird confused looks. After they had been shown their seats and the waitress went to get the menus, he skirted around her to make sure she did not bump into him, he sought to comfort the eagle.
Pulling the chair out as if he was just arriving at the table he said, “I am sorry about that. I was following you and then I got distracted for a moment and before I realized it you were talking to the waitress.”

What? WHAT? The chair had just moved. Asher had to be there and real right? If the chair was moving? But the waitress would have seen him. She wouldn't lie to him would she?
Eilwyn made another worried sound as he sat down. He looked straight at were the voice was coming from. He was sure it was there! "Asher?" Eilwyn paused briefly, "If the waitress says I'm alone... then I... am I...?"
Worry. Was this why Daddy worried about him so much? Had he been talking to nonexistent people his entire life? What was going on. He choked for a moment before tears started to roll down his feathered cheeks.
Fern, who had previously been radiating hate the entire time, curled up on her master's feet to comfort him. She would have jumped on his lap, but she knew better than to do that when he was sitting under a table. Bonking her head enough times was a good reminder of "don't jump."
Eilwyn was still very much crying when the waitress returned. "O-oh! Oh! Eilwyn I'm going to... call Zane for you! Just... er... Miss Lorrie!" The waitress scurried off as quickly as she had returned.

The fox was startled when he saw that the eagle started to cry.
“No, no. You are not alone I promise! I am here, I swear. I am sitting right across from you.” He reached out a paw to touch the male’s hand in front of him. He knew the male, or anyone else, could not see him but they could feel him. “See! You can feel me. I am here.”
The man’s crying was causing fear to rise in him as well. He knew he was invisible, he had always been invisible; he just had not expected the man to react like this. The eagle had pinpointed his location after all, something that most people were not able to do. Was there something wrong with the eagle then that he did not know about?
“Please do not cry! Elywyn, I am sorry!” He addressed the eagle, picking up the male’s name from the waitress. He was almost shouting now in panic. Others from the tables near by were sure to begin looking and whispering soon.
