"While I can not argue with the Bitch comment, did you say Rat? Are you so dumb that you do not know your breeds?" He flicked his ears and tail at the same time. "The proper answer you are looking for is apparently yes." One more thing he hated to go on the list, idiots.
Turning to the other one he narrowed his eyes. "I was not 'interrupting' anything important, as you put it. I was starting the real party."
Pulling off his gloves, tossing them back toward Mnem, he took a threatening step forward. His hands would be glowing bright white in the near darkness, something that would intimidate if not confuse anyone. "You get one warning, let go of the kid, now" He would deal with these bastards first and then take care of the kid.

Mnem let the goves hit the dirt. No one was allowed to agree that Mnem was a bitch except for Mnem. No matter what sense of the word they were refering to.
The men whose faces Mnem could see clearly stared at Aderlass's glowing hands with expressions of, respectively, blank incomprehension, tense apprehension, and cocky dismissal. They likely had magic or some other cunning means of fighting of their own, but Mnem figured they could probably be felled by feelings of intense burning. And if worse came to worse, Mnem could always put on the Diamond hat and, with considerable effort, charm them into submission. That was really too much work, though.
The cocky man strode forward. Some strange kind of fog crept around his feet. With the first one's show of bravery, the others followed suit, except for the one holding the kid like he was some kind of prize.
Mnem yawned. "Knock 'em dead, darling."

He was amused by the bored sounding tone from Mnem. "Roger that" he replied not looking back. It had slipped his notice so far that he had insulted his partner rather then defended her. Though he figured that one really should not deny what was obviously the truth.
His eyes shifting from one person to the next in the group as he measured them up. Considering their state of mind he was pretty confident that he could take them easily.
Motioning with one hand he called the most eager of them forward. Taking a stance where he could easily move from to attack of defend he taunted the man. "For interrupting your little chat, I will allow you to make the first move. I dare you to try and teach me a lesson."
He would wait for the other male to attack before making his own move.

The cocky one, a rangy feline with tufts of fur missing from his neck like he had seen his fair share of fights, stepped up to answer the challenge, leaving his followers a couple of paces behind him.
"I don't think we need a gang for this one, boys," he told them, which was of course ridiculous, in Mnem's opinion. One-on-one fights--especially fair ones--with unknown opponents were for chumps. The fog around his feet thickened, swirling black and ominous, creeping up from ground level like snakes writhing on top of one another. It moved slowly, with nefarious intent, but Mnem thought that as long as Aderlass struck fast enough, he would be able to avoid whatever harmful effect it had.
His group smirked back at him and nodded. The feline grinned at Aderlass. "I'll teach you. The most important--and last--lesson you'll ever learn."
The feline launched at him, swift and agile, claws extended.

He carefully watched as the fog thickened around the feline. It sure did not seem overly friendly, almost ominous if one really thought about it. Not sure what could be done with this strange power, he decided to stay as far away from as much of it as he could.
At the feline's words he gave a bark of laughter before reply with his own taunt.. "Give it your best try."
Crouched down he waited for the feline's attack. Knowing that he only had a moment to make his own move once the feline did he watched carefully. Spotting it he moved to the side, flinging his arm out. Even if the hand only slightly glazed the feline it would cause the him great pain and severe burns. If he actually managed to land a good blow . . . well lets say the pain would be something extreme.

Mnem watched with no measure of pity at all as the feline grazed the outstretched limb of the mouse. The fog around him evaporated into harmless white vapor as the cat shrieked in pain and hit the ground, burned deep into the flesh by Aderlass's glowing hands. It was a very neat trick, even better than when he had used it to melt the doorknob, and she thought idly that one day she was going to need to invest in magic that was as potentially destructive as that. For the moment, she would just concentrate on repressing her desire to saunter on over and kick the now-prone and writhing feline repeatedly in the kidneys.
Her gaze flickered over to the rest of the group. The boy in their hands had just wet himself, if his expression was anything to go by. The men who were holding him were staring at Aderlass warily, now.
One of them pitched the kid forward into the dirt.
"Take him," he spat. "You're not worth our time."

He watched the feline go down with a pleased smile. "You sure taught me my lesson. I promise to never do it again." He mocked sarcastically.
At the other member's words he gave a bark of laughter. "Oh that is rich. You are going to ruin my fun that easily?" He asked as if he was truly offended by it. "I do not know, wot do you think we should do?" He asked Mnem. He was torn between beating all of them up, just for fun, and the option of letting them cut their losses. After all, none of them would be able to provide much of a fight. Whatever she suggested would be what they did.
Starring at the kid they had thrown in the dirt his eyes narrowed some. How could this kid have allowed himself to be brought to this. He wrinkled his nose at the fact that the kid had soiled himself on top of it.

Mnem evaluated the group quietly for a moment. The only emotion that was competing with her intense feeling of smugness was contempt, for both the men and the boy they had tormented. It only took a moment to make a decision. She grinned widely at Aderlass.
"Oh, I haven't the foggiest, darling," she said casually. "I do so love a nice toasty blaze, though. Perhaps we should burn their supply wagon and send them running back to the capital?" This sounded like a good plan to her. Ruin their profits, and scare the shit so far out of them that they would have nightmares for months. Additionally, when those idiots were gone, they would finally have some peace and quiet.
She didn't know what to do about the wretched boy, though. He was probably too scared and too stoned to find his way home on his own. Bugger. Perhaps Aderlass could just burn him too.

That sounded like a very good plan indeed.
"Alright, one toasty fire coming right up. I suggest you little ones run along now if you do not want to be added to the fuel." He gave a wave of his hand as if in dismissal.
He watched the few wise ones who ran off to grab some precious items before running off into the night. Those who were not as wise, he made threatening movements toward till they finally got the hint. Ending up besides one of their tent before all of them had run off he glanced inside to see if there was anything worth keeping before setting it on fire.
Walking from one tent to the next he was able to find some food still worthy of being eaten and some other small items. Bringing back his loot to where Mnem was he laid it down besides her. Picking up his gloves he brushed them off before sliding his hand inside.
"Wot are we going to do with him?" He asked, nodding his head toward the kid.
