Kare turned her curious gaze and attention to Venka when the horse dog spoke to her, but, of course, she didn't answer the other female. She could have, though, if she really wanted to respond. On the heels of that thought came a question, though. She hadn't spoken in years... wot if her vocal chords had atrophied away? She hadn't even thought of that before. It was vaguely perturbing, actually. Wot if she ever needed to speak up for Phyr? She was going to have to practice later.
Putting that thought on her mental to-do list, Kare turned her attention back to Elyse whom she was well-pleased to be hitting it off so well with. She still wasn't certain why she liked the little mouse so much. Perhaps she was in love? She'd need to analyze herself around the Corvistowneian. Maybe she'd have a relationship like her Mommies. She'd just have to wait and see.
When Elyse suggested they do something, Kare's gaze went automatically back to the proceedings where things still weren't going well for the winged hybrid. How she wished she could do that!

She bounced some on the spot, unable to contain all her excitement over making a new friend, especially with their now planning on doing something together. Playing with friends was always more fun then running drills for Daddy Rai. “Ven, Kare does not speak.” She explained to the other female in a voice that was neither chiding nor ‘I am superior”.
“I do not think Daddy Rai would take too kindly to his seeing us just standing around and talking. There is that small lake nearby that we could go to . . . other then that I do not honestly remember much from around here. Wot about you Venka, V?”
She was a little embarrassed to show them that she did not really remember all the terrain like Daddy Rai had always been lecturing them on. Usually she was enjoying herself too much to really take in what was around them.

“He does not pick on you. He likes you, is all. Not like Iphis or Hadyn sort of way. You better not like guys.” She gave him a warning glare.
When he had finally managed to wiggle out from under her she threw one arm around his shoulders, bringing him down for what she fainted as a nugie but instead just kept him in a choking hold . . . well hug really.
“You can not speak? Well that sucks.” She was kind of blatant sometimes in her words and thoughts and would probably receive a nudge from her brother if he could manage it. Oh, well.
“I do not know . . . the lake sounds a little boring. I mean what could we do there besides stare at the water? Well I suppose we could throw V in.” She said the last part jokingly before continuing. “You have any suggestions V?”

"I don't want to be thrown into the water!" he complained back at her, trying to get enough air to breathe and enough leverage to get Venka off of him. Gads, she was such a jerk sometimes. "Venka, lemme go!" he whined, unable to even admonish her for being to blunt. Well, it wouldn't matter, she knew she was doing it, she just chose to do it anyway.
His tail thumped the ground slightly as Elyse made her suggestion. He wouldn't admit it, but if Elyse didn't know then it was unlikely either of the twins did. He certainly didn't pay very close attention when Father talked to them about this stuff. It was such a waste of time; they lived in the City! They had no reason to be galavanting about the country side. So lame.
"Let's go to the lake," he agreed to the mouse's words.

Kare tilted her head at the suggestion to find a lake. She hadn't even known there were any out this way. Of course, she usually followed the road south to her home in Ville en Miir, not to any of the northern areas. To her a lake sounded rather like fun, so she turned to Elyse and gave a shy little head bob to show her own agreement to the plan. Not that the purple fox knew how to swim. In fact, she'd never been more water than could be found in a fountain. She wondered if these three knew how to; it seemed like something their rather fanatical father would demand of them. She was eager to find out.
She took a few steps towards the Corvistowneian, assuming, probably correctly, that the black mouse would lead the way to the lake. Kare wasn't entirely certain she should trust directions from Venka -or- Vishne.

Looking at her brother through narrowed eyes she rolled them, playfully, at his whining. “Well of course we would not actually throw you in the water. You do not know how to swim silly.” She chided him as if the whole idea was silly. She was not completely aware if he could or not but she shrugged off the information anyway.
“So we are going to go to the Lake? Alright, Elyse, why do you not lead the way to the Lake then?” she asked in a tone that pretty much commanded that the decision had already been made. Letting go of her brother she waved a hoofed paw at her sibling of sorts to show her to go ahead. She was ready to get away from all of this practicing and get to something more fun.
“Okay, let’s go, let’s go, let’s go.” She said pushing V in front of her as Elyse led the way.

When Kare had turned to give her a shy smile, the small mouse gave her a warm smile back. She really hoped that they two of them could become friends. Looking towards V her smile turned a little sad in sympathy. His twin really did pick on him a lot, though she knew for a fact that he only complained about it without meaning anything. The two of them were really close.
“Okay then! Follow me.” she said, jumping up and down a little, as she gave a firm nod of her head. With that said started off in the general direction that would take the four of them to the lake. It did not take long to get there and soon they came across a pretty large lake. “And here, my friends, is our destination.” She said with a happy little head tilt dance from side to side.

Vishne was pleased to see the pool of water; he wasn't certain if Father would actually consider it a real lake, but to a handful of kids, it certainly was. His pink-tipped tail wagged lightly in pleasure at the sight. He had to be in just the right mood to want to get wet, but he always enjoyed playing along shorelines. He'd read in a book about people picking up seashells on beaches, and he'd always wanted to do the same.
"Do you think there are seashells here?" he asked the group in general, waiting subconsciously for someone to take the lead and walk them all the way to the water's edge. "I read that shells always come up on beaches."
He glanced towards their new friend and hoped that she would be just as excited about being here as he was. She was certainly inspecting everything closely!

The trek to the lake hadn't been nearly as hard as Kare had first expected it to be, so she wasn't nearly as tired as she thought she likely would be. This was definitely an encouragement! These other children seemed a great deal more.... hearty than she was. She'd been afraid that she would be left terribly far behind; even Vishne, who seemed the least active of the three. Pink eyes were wide as she took in the countryside on this side of the Capital and especially when they reached the lake.
It didn't look too much like the water near where she came from so she wandered closer held in the throes of curiousity. She turned towards V when he spoke of seashells, then tilted her head in further wonder at that. She, too, had read of such things, though, so she was equally hopeful that there would be some here.
