Se continued to stare at his brother for a long minute. Training? In the City? That sounded exactly like something their father would force on them and it would be just like Rai to pair him up with the sibling he abhorred the absolute most. Gads, he hated his father. Hated him beyond all comprehension and understanding. He was going to kill that *@#(@$% someday. He swore it to himself.
As Eir continued to push wotever point he was trying to make, Se felt his mind wandering towards the darkness that offered him relief from the pain. If he'd just fall into that smooth, accepting darkness, the pain would all go away and he wouldn't have to think or worry or...
Even as the thought came sliding through his mind, he felt his consciousness drifting off to the gentle arms of being utterly and peacefully passed out.

Eir gave an angry growl as Se's weird eyes unfocused even as he was talking to the younger boy. "You little rat *@#$@&%," the colt told the hybrid as unconsciousness swarmed the mix. *@ it all, now he'd have to keep watching Se and asking questions just to find out wot had happened and why the freakin' snot the puny yellow chest wasn't utterly caved in and the little prick wasn't breathing his last this very moment.
Eir was doomed to spending time with the other kid! How much more unfair could life get?! The colt slammed an angry hoof against the wall, shaking the room slightly.
Footsteps rushed up the stairs and Eir rolled his eyes before quickly assuming his mask of innocence as the doctor rushed in.
"Is everything okay?" the man asked, eyes going to his patient.
"Oh, yes," Eir answered as sweetly as he could. "He just had a bad dream, but it's over now."
The doctor quickly checked Se's vitals again then nodded to the horse. "You're a good brother, Eir. Keep an eye on him; we're still trying to contact your parents."
"Yes, sir," Eir answered making a face at the retreating owl's back before turning back to glower at Se once again. Wot were Se's secrets?

"Are we going to have a problem, Eir?" the low voice didn't quite hold the threat in its tone, but there was never any doubt that it was there; warning of danger and death. "I don't want to have any more. . . problems. Not with my siblings." The older colt stepped into the room, mix-matched hooves now tapping lightly on the polished wood floors. Pale lavender eyes took in the scene dispassionately. Se was still passed out on the bed and Eir was sitting nearby, long, muscled tail flipping back and forth like a cat who has spotted its prey. Oho. They were going to have a problem and that just caused the eldest of the siblings to want to cuss and kick something-- specifically Eir-- right in the head. Ira moved over to the hybrid's bedside and quickly reached out his nose to gently touch the forehead only partially obscured by the purple forelock. No temperature.

Pink ears flipped backwards when the other equine came into the room, but Eir simply continued to smirk at their youngest brother's still form, especially when Iraishin came up to check on the little retard.
"You give him too much credit," the pink and purple colt answered idly. "He's just wasting your time." Like anyone could not realize that Ira was obsessed with their youngest sibling. His own pale lavender eyes jumped to Ira's face in time to see a small, almost hidden smile that quickly faded away again. Eir narrowed his eyes as he wondered about that; wondered about the draw this stupid little *@#^tard held for their 'esteemed' eldest sibling.
It didn't make sense! Not that there were any others in their batch of brothers and sisters truly worth redeeming; the whole mass of them was a squirming, whining ball of fur and hair that only served to increase Eir's hatred of people every single day.

Were there voices floating around his head again? He wasn't entirely certain, and it baffled him slightly to hear the underlying anger in the tones. He wanted to remain in the nice, cool darkness that enveloped him and he tried to push his consciousness away from listening and back towards the welcome arms of oblivion.
There would be pain, he subconsciously knew, if he were to awake. He desperately wanted to avoid that for now. So he scooted back towards the not-quite rest he was in, a state of unknowing.
The dreams began again.
He walked down the street in bright sunlight with Xylia. It was a beautiful day. They were happy and laughing. And then blood spurted from her chest, right over the black on black markings of her suit and rank. He stared in shock that wasn't real; he knew wot was going to happen. It needed to be nighttime! If it was night, she would disappear and she could get away. Become night! Become night!

"You don't know wot you're talking about," Ira answered mildly, turning his head just slightly to shoot his other brother a long, unreadable glance. "Be sure you don't step too far in your. . . ignorance." He lofted an eyeridge in warning before looking back at their still unconscious sibling. The yellow hide twitched suddenly, and small frown pressed across his forehead. Ira's ears came forward swiftly as he watched the unease and dismay become evident.
Here was part of the interest their youngest brother now held for Ira. He knew, to a degree, of the nightmares the boy walked; sometimes Se would mumble and cry out as he thrashed through his sleep. Just as often, however, it would come to this and only this. As though the little hybrid was seeking a way to strike back at his dreams, concentrating fully on overcoming his nightmares. This is wot would spring the equine/canine mix into the Real World.

"It's always so cute when you try to threaten me," Eir replied flatly, the same grin across his face. "You don't know anything more than I do and I'm certainly stronger than you are." Like it would take much; he was often out and about honing his skills, survival, rural, and urban. Ira was only following Se around and playing nursemaid. That wasn't doing any sort of training at all.
Eir tilted his head to the side slightly, eyes narrowing as Ira's intense interest in their unconscious sibling. Suspicious, the other equine rose and moved on dual-toned hooves to his eldest brother's side.
There was nothing to see! Se was just twitching in his #*$$!&@ sleep. This was a load of bull. "You're on crack, Ira. I can't believe you follow him around like a freakin' lapdog. You've lost your spine."

Sometimes it would work, but sometimes it would not. The world was changing, though, and Xylia was fading out of sight. But it wasn't night time, it was day time and he was supposed to be able to see her during the day!
"Xylia?" His voice was frantic and he whirled in a tight circle, searching for her. There was only the spray of blood where she had been standing. "XYLIA!"
The world was mist and shadows and someone large and dangerous took a step towards him, draped in a long, deep brown cloak. Se's nostrils flared, but he could find no scent as a light tapping came to his ears. "Who are you? Wot do you want?" He would not retreat!
The tapping continued and he caught a hint of two hooves on the ground. "Who are you?" The tapping continued on and on; it was a beat, a rhythm.

Ira turned a cool glance towards his brother and he let his eyes say just how unimpressed he was with Eir's response. Obviously the other colt was lacking on the intelligence side. If he was even just a bit quicker, he wouldn't say such stupid things. "Watch your step, Eir," Ira said in a low, warning tone. "You step on slick stones."
When Se flailed suddenly, a shudder dancing up and down the yellow fur, Ira's attention centered back upon their youngest brother. What was dancing through the boy's dream now? Wot was torturing the yellow hybrid's strange, twisted mind now? Ira wished he could see into Se's dreams so he could see just what was stalking there. Still, if wishes were horses, there would be many more of him.
He hrmed thoughtfully under his breath, before ordering carelessly, "Fetch the doctor, Eir." He didn't even bother to glance at the other horse.
