Things had finally settled. Things were still a little delicate, barely recovering from the chaos, but it was over. All the plotting that had happened flew out the window in a single evening. It didn't matter. The sleepless nights, the constant worrying, a bed without Seth. None of it. All that mattered was that It was gone, and nearly all the problems associated with it was gone, too. All that was left was rebuilding. It had barely been a week, but they were well on their way. Seth had returned with their children. Well, her step children. She was finally able to sleep properly now that Seth was back. Her paranoia wouldn't allow for anything else. Now she was fully rested. Now she was on her way again. She knocked on Xiven's door.

It had all been quite the amazing mess. And frankly Xiven was still a little flustered by the sudden change of... just about everything. She was now The Queen had had quite a few new responsibilities on her plate. But she could handle it. Hell, she felt like she could take on the world. She signed yet another paper. There were only four or so more to go before she could take a break for lunch. Or just a break in general. There was a knock on the door. She looked up, sitting in silence for a few moments. She could just let them think she had taken lunch early and finish these papers. However... she might as well try to get in good habits. Plus it wasn't like her mother was around today. She'd taken a brief trip with Xander to the city. "Come in, the door's open," she said, putting her chin on the palm of her hand as she waited.

Heilyn walked in and nodded to Xiven with a light smile. There she was, her pretty young face perched on her hands while a stack of paperwork surrounded her.
"I won't take too much of your time, Your Majesty," she teased, but made herself comfortable by taking a chair, placing it on the other side of her desk, and making herself comfortable. "I wanted to talk to you in person rather than writing a letter. I feel with the status of our relationship to one another, you deserved a little something more than some written note sent along by someone either of us barely know." Heilyn gave a small pause, then continued, getting right to the point.
"I would like to discuss my moving up to Queen and working beside you. I know you're very busy with all of your new responsibilities and would like to perhaps work out a date and time for a more official meeting for this."

She tilted her head curiously as Heilyn entered. They'd both been busy fixing things so they hadn't seen each other in a bit. The joke made Xiven chuckle as she fixed her posture so she could properly give Heilyn her attention.
And then she came out with it. She never was one to draw things out. It made things easier. Xiven smirked at the idea of a "later date" and things being more "official." Ha. There was no point in wasting anymore precious time.
"How about we start your Quest right now?" Xiven asked. "I hardly see the point in having you come back later. We might as well not waste precious time and have you go up to Queenship as soon as possible--assuming you pass the test that is. My responsibilities can be put on hold for a little while. After all they aren't running away."

Heilyn smirked as she listened to Xiven. Oh yes, that worked out quite well. If anything, that was part of the reason why Heilyn showed up in person in the first place. Xiven wasn't really one to dick around and push the technicalities on other people, especially at a time like this. She did what needed to be done. (Heilyn would not at all be surprised if part of the reason Xiven acted so quickly was so she could send Heilyn away with a fresh new stack of paperwork)
"This, if anything, works out better. What test will you have me complete?"

Xiven's fingers gently tapped her desk for a moment. There were a variety of things she could have given Heilyn to do, but most of them involved questions. That wouldn't be much of a challenge.
A smirk twitched onto her face. "All right, if you're more than ready I'm going to give you pretty difficult task. You have two days to complete this task, and I suggest you take advantage of the time. Don't put the cart before the horse even if it seems like you're running out of time."
She opened one of her drawers and pulled out a small envelope. Offering it to the woman her smile grew. "I need you to find Peaches and deliver this message to her. You also need to get her to respond to the message verbally. The only thing I know about her whereabouts currently is that she's not at the palace but still in the Highlands. I wish you the best of luck."
With that said the woman pulled another sheet of paperwork off of one of the various piles.

Heilyn blinked and the amused expression she wore faded. She had two days to find Peaches. She wasn't worried at all about getting the woman to respond. Peaches could be a pain in the ass and might try to play coy or tell Heilyn she'd get to it later. Well, she could try. Heilyn knew with a little arm twisting Peaches would suddenly find the inspiration to reply.
The problem was finding the wench in the first place. Somewhere in the Highlands definitely helped. However, that was only as of now. Given enough time, Peaches could magically turn up anywhere. Two days. Heilyn nodded and took the letter. This was going to be difficult. She knew that unless she got very, very lucky, she would be using the full two days.
"May I ask you a question or two before I leave?"

Xiven looked up, completely unsurprised. Heilyn, thankfully, knew what she was getting into. So questions were a good thing. And Xiven was honestly hoping that Heilyn would take matters into her own hands and prod until Xiven's information was exhausted.
She shifted her work away from her, putting the pen in the inkwell. Clearing her desk she looked up at the woman with a smile. "Feel free to ask me whatever you like. I only know so much about where my mother is, so you'll have to forgive me if I can't answer all of your questions. I know there are a few servants who talk to her pretty often." She gave a small shrug.
It wasn't an easy Quest. But she knew Heilyn could manage it. After all the quest had to be worthy of a Queenship title. And finding Peaches would be more than worthy.

Heilyn nodded, letting her face relax a little. Good. Xiven wasn't making her go this completely alone. She put the envelope down in her lap.
"Any help is appreciated. My questions are: How long ago did she leave the Palace? do you know what she's trying to find or do in the Highlands? and which of the servants does she speak with often?" She knew of one or two Peaches mentioned, but any other names she could get that she might not know about would be of help. Heilyn let her eyes look over Xiven as the other woman spoke. There were bite indentations on the base her neck that her blazer didn't quite keep covered when Xiven moved her arm or neck. Her lips twitched in a smirk as she looked back at Xiven's face, hoping to not make her feel too subconscious about the marks Pale left.

"She left yesterday evening," Xiven said as she tallied the time the woman had been gone. It had been a fairly hurried departure due to the nature of her parting, but she couldn't have been too far off. The "job" was pretty local even if Xiven didn't know the exact location. "She's trying to locate a particular information broker who is pretty notorious in the Highlands, though fairly difficult to find from her ranting."
Well that sounded a lot better in her head than out loud. Her dear sweet mother was in some Shadey business, but she was never the one to sell her secrets. Though she had said she bribed the man a few times to find out about what information leaked out of the palace. Well... she was sure that Heilyn knew about what her mother did half the time.
"I know she talks to Ashley fairly often, and Drew the gardener often knows where she slinks off to."
