Cheerful. It had been a while since she had been cheerful to the point where she wanted to skip down the hall like she did with a kid. She didn't just like it. She was completely enamored by the glass object. No one had ever gotten her anything like this before.
Right tea. She had just offered some. The cat's tail twitched in thought. Having tea near her paperwork again might be a disaster. "Let's have it out in the garden. I'll catch someone while we're going there," She said cheerfully.
It was a seemingly short walk to the garden, and she had caught one of the servants on the way. The tea would be there shortly. Xiven took a seat on a bench a little ways from where they had last had a nice meal together. The cat refrained from sighing at her over complicated love life.

The garden was the perfect place to have a cup of tea. After all, it was the first place that Xiven and Cal had sat down to talk to each other. It seemed so long ago that that had happened, when in fact it had only been a little over a week since that fateful day.
Cal padded happily alongside Xiven as they made their way down to the garden. The Queen did indeed find a servant along the way, and quickly he was off to get them their tea. Soon after that, they arrived at their destination, and Cal saw the beautiful roses yet again. They never ceased to amaze her.
As soon as Xiven sat down on the bench, Cal jumped up to sit next to her. She noticed that the Queen's happiness was ebbing away slowly, and she couldn't help but put a paw onto Xiven's lap. "Is there something wrong, Xiven? You seem slightly distressed." Whatever it was, Cal only hoped she could do something to remedy it.
((Hope you can still enjoy this crappy post XD;))

Xiven jumped when the woman put a paw on her on her lap. Oh no. She had looked distracted. The cat's face flashed a bit of shock as she shifted to look at the woman better.
What was she supposed to say? It wasn't like she would spew her entire love life tragic tale at someone she had just met. Someone sweet and adorable, but none the less, just met.
But she couldn't lie either, could she?
"It's just complicated. I've reached a point in my life where I have to pick and choose, but I don't particularly want to. Don't worry about me," She gave the woman a bright smile. "I'll sort things out in the end. How has your flower business been going? I know it hasn't been that long but I'm terribly curious."
Hopefully she'd forget the trouble at the suggestion of a change of topic.

When Xiven jumped, Cal quickly removed her paw and regained a normal sitting position again. When the feline turned to face her, she gave the Queen her full attention. She listened to Xiven speak vaguely about her complicated life. Cal knew there had to be something more to what she was saying, but she didn't want to push the subject any further. Xiven's bright and genuine smile brought the topic to an end.
Her flower business? "Business is going well, actually. I had a few messages regarding commissions waiting for me when I got back to the Gardens. Nothing pressing though, which is why I could afford to visit you again so soon." Seemed like her visit had perfect timing. Xiven deserved this break from the mound of paperwork Cal had seen on her desk.
She couldn't help but let her mind wander back to the previous topic. Usually when someone said "Don't worry about me", it left the other person in a state of worry. Cal didn't want to give any more thought to what the Queen had said, but she just couldn't help it. However, she knew if Xiven truly wanted to tell her what was bothering her, then she would do so. They had only known each other for a short amount of time, so it was understandable that Xiven wouldn't put her complete trust in the Yarrow just yet.
Cal's thoughts were interrupted by the sighting of two servants with their tea. Since they were coming from an angle where Xiven couldn't see them, Cal nudged the Queen with her nose and motioned in the direction of the servants.

The amount of saccharine in the air could kill a diabetic by proxy.
"That's good to here, I'm happy other people appreciate your talents. And I'm happy you could fit me into your busy schedule." Xiven's tail twitched as she shifted. Cal clearly was worried despite the statement "not to worry." Why had she even bothered to say that when she knew it would cause nothing but trouble?
The gentle nudge snapped her out of the state. She glanced over at the two servants, one with the tea tray and paraphernalia and the other with a decorative folding table. It didn't take them very long to set up and depart just as quickly as they had appeared.
Chai tea and some scones. And odd combination but Xiven wasn't about to complain. She took a long sip of the tea before setting her cup down to look at Cal. Should she be honest? It wouldn't kill her she supposed. "What's bothering me is... I don't know if I should forgive someone. I want to, but I don't know if I can. I'll figure things out, but until then I suppose I'll just be bothered."

The servents came and went, leaving a table laden with a tea set and a platter of scones for the pair. As Calanthe began to lap up her chai tea from a bowl, she was surprised to hear Xiven talking about what was bothering her. She listening intently, and immediately felt sympathy for the Queen. It was never easy to deal with a situation like this one.
"I believe that you'll make the right choice in this situation, Xiven. You have a smart head on your shoulders." Her smile faded slightly as she continued. "And...don't feel obligated to tell me more about this issue unless you want to. I don't want to make you feel like you have to. But, I will always be willing to listen if you want to talk. It's...the least I can do for you, Your Majesty."
The canine blushed slightly as she gave a small bow towards Xiven. Even though she was a Diamond, it didn't mean she couldn't help out the Queen of Hearts. She was always willing to help those in need as much as she could. And now that Xiven was a dear friend to her, Cal would do anything to help their friendship thrive.

"You are possibly the sweetest woman in all of the realms." Xiven said with a smile. When was the last time she had met someone who had been so damn honest and kind to her? A small sigh escaped her as she sipped the tea.
Should she tell the woman a bit more? Would that be crossing the invisible line of comfort for the both of them?
"I have a very complicated life," she said slowly. "It's gotten to the point where I can't even tell what I think of myself anymore. And two people in my life I just... I just don't know what to think of them either. It's just one giant mess of emotions I can't seem to untangle. And then there's this third person who has been nothing but kind to me since the moment we met. I don't think that person realizes how sweet they are either, and how much that adds to their attraction and my complications."
She gave the woman a smirk. "Think you can help me out with that?"

At Xiven's compliment, Cal could feel her face get hot with a blush that seemed to be enveloping her entire face. All of a sudden, Xiven was speaking more about her current complications in life. She spoke of a third person, someone very sweet and kind...and then she gave Cal that wonderful smirk. "Wait a minute...is she talking about...me?" The canine's thoughts became a jumbled mess as she tried to process what Xiven had just said. Yes! The Queen of Hearts was attracted to her!
On the one hand, it felt incredibly amazing to know her feelings were reciprocated, but at the same time, Calanthe almost couldn't believe it to be real. Who knew this could actually happen? She'd never fancied someone like this before. But only in her wildest dreams did Xiven ever return those feelings. Now that it was real...who knew what would happen?
"I-I-I...Yes. Well, I'm n-not sure if this will a-actually help, M-M'Lady..." Then, as the words stopped spilling from her mouth, and without any warning, even to herself, Cal leaned in to give Xiven a small kiss on the cheek.

She had to force herself not to giggle at the woman's expression. It was all too priceless. Xiven could have never imagined this very moment taking place. What was the likely hood of her falling for someone as sweet and kind as this? It must have been a one in the million chance that she was so lucky.
Something without complications. That seemed like a wonderful idea.
To Xiven's great surpise the woman was stuttering, and suddenly kissed her on the cheek. A vivid blush covered her entire face under her fur. Thank the suits for its darkness. Xiven cleared her throat before speaking, smiling at the Yarrow.
"I think I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that it does." Just as suddenly as Cal had, she leaned forward to kiss the woman on the nose. If Calanthe had been paying attention she probably would have been able to see the blush through the Queen's fur.

This moment was all too perfect. Everything seemed to go in slow motion in the canine's mind as she kissed the Torque on the cheek. She closed her eyes as she pulled away from the feline's beautiful face, which made Xiven's kiss on her nose totally unexpected. Cal jumped slightly, but eased into the light kiss the Queen was giving her. Being so close as they were, Calanthe could almost see a hint of red mixed in with the purple and black. Her own blush deepened as Xiven's lips removed themselves from her nose.
Something in her stirred. Innocence was replaced with a strong desire to start going further than Cal had ever gone with another woman. This time she closed her eyes, and began to nuzzle the side of Xiven's jaw, taking in the warm breath on her fur. Then, she moved slowly, finally placing her lips on the Queen's. After a brief moment, she released herself, and caught a quick breath before opening her eyes. She immediately knew she wanted to do that again, and soon, but not before speaking once more. As she looked into Xiven's deep black eyes, she wondered if the Queen could notice the excitement in her own.
"Did...did that help even more than the last one, Xiven?"
