It was a small victory. A little more fun was to be had.
When they reached the establishment, the purple haired woman stepped forward to open the door. She gave a small bow to the canine, allowing her through.
It was a pretty place. Peaches admired the pale pastel wallpaper that matched the various blue bouquets on the tables. The table cloths were rather lacy, but that could be easily over looked. They were ushered to a table, and given a large selection to choose from.
A place filled with all sorts of pretty things and pretty women. Peaches' smirk never left her face as she watched Calanthe. Once they had settled on which teas they were having, the server hurried off to place their orders. Peaches crossed her legs and started playing with one of the napkins. "So I've been curious, what sort of job does a Yarrow as interesting as you have?"

Calanthe entered the beautiful tea house. It had been awhile since she'd visited this particular one, and it never ceased to amaze her with all of its architectural beauty. The high ceilings and the blue motif encompassing the entire house was simply striking every time she entered this place.
After making their order (she of course getting her favorite tea), Peaches asked: "So I've been curious, what sort of job does a Yarrow as interesting as you have?"
She answered (while blushing again slightly): "I'm a florist. I've always thought that flowers were the most enchanting part of the Gardens, and I just seem to have a knack for handling them, so becoming a florist just seemed to be the right occupation to take up."
It was then that their tea order came to them, and after taking her first sip, Calanthe asked: "And what do you do for a living, Peaches? You must have quite the fascinating profession for someone like yourself."

A florist seemed fitting somehow. It might have something to do with the plethora of flowers, or perhaps it was because of the canine's fine kept looks. Either way she way Peaches grinned at the woman's answer.
Her eyebrow perked at the question. Should she answer truthfully and tell her she was a member of the court of Hearts, or perhaps she should just say her job specialty without her title? It was tempting to say "If I told you I would have to kill you," but Peaches decided against that silly little option.
"I work in espionage. I'm a sneaky sneaky girl," Peaches said with a wave of her sleeve covered hand. "I also file paperwork, prepare tea, and pretend to be a mother. All of them are a job and a half. Thankfully I was graced with a break."
Actually she just pulled a random disappearing act, but everyone considered it normal by now.
"So I know your name, your favorite tea, and your job... would you like to know anything about me since I seem to be asking most of the questions...." Peaches offered with a smile that was trying to twist its way into a smirk.

Espionage, eh? Surprisingly, this didn't surprise Calanthe in the slightest. Peaches definitely seemed like the kind of woman who would go into that line of work. Her answer actually kind of amused her. She held back a giggle. If Peaches was into espionage, then surely she wouldn't want to get on her bad side. But something else caught her attention...
"Pretend to be a mother? The fact that you've come to the Gardens just to get her some tea shows that you care, even if it's only just the slightest bit. And since it's my turn to start asking questions, here's one for you: What is your daughter like? I know this question isn't quite about you per say, but you have brought her up a few times in our conversation, so she must be on your mind often."
Calanthe wondered if Peaches's daughter was anything like her mother....or if she was completely different.

Peaches snorted at her comment. Of course she would say that about her being a mother. When it came down to it Peaches, all in all, was a terrible sort of mother. Enough that she covered up two of her daughter's existences.
But she didn't need to know that. No one did.
"My daughter is far nicer than me. She has a kind Heart and is willing to listen to anyone's case as long as they aren't a man. If they are her temper normally shows through. Her love life is a bit of a mess, but she tries to hide that so she can be happy around other She's a great deal prettier than me, and got most of her looks from her father with the exception of her region and her build." Peaches paused for a long moment, debating on if she wanted to drop her daughter's name or not. She was more well known than Peaches would be, but some people still didn't really know about her.
"I think you would get along well with her. She's a bit of a quiet girl. I try to get her to go out more often but... she just refuses and goes back to her work." Peaches tapped her gloved fingers on the table, through her sleeves. The waitress had arrived with their tea. It was time to at least pause for a sip. Blowing on it lightly she then took a sip.
Mmm. Tea.
"Is that a suitable description?" Peaches asked.

As Peaches described her daughter, Calanthe sat there and took it all in. "She's a great deal prettier than me..." Trying to see that in her mind's eye was difficult, seeing as Peaches was quite a stunningly handsome woman herself. All in all, her daughter sounded like a lovely person, and she hoped that maybe one day she would get the opportunity to meet her.
"Yes, that was an adequate description. Your daughter sounds like an appealing woman. You'll definitely have to get her motivated enough so that sometime in the future she may visit the Gardens. I think she would fit in with all of the women here, and I would especially like to meet her one day," Calanthe said with a grin.
"There is one thing you didn't tell me about your daughter. What is her name?"

Oh well. The cat was out of the bag, but that didn't mean she would know who her daughter was. Or she could come right out and say it. Actually that seemed like a quick and easy way of doing it. "Her name is Xiven, she's a tilted Queen. She's pretty off the beaten path of media, so you might not have heard of her. Plus, you're a Diamond, so it's not all that important to you."
She waved her hands as she spoke. Xiven probably would have smacked her if she was there. Good thing she wasn't. The woman took a long sip of her tea, and set it back down.
"She doesn't leave the court all that often. So I would have to drag her by her tail to get her here. Maybe you could come to the Court of Hearts sometime? Might be an interesting little trip." She said in a sing song voice. "But silly me, probably should talk about something else. Are there any other questions that you want to know the answers to?"

"I may have heard the name Xiven tossed around once or twice around the Gardens, but never anything about her. Until now, of course. But she's definitely someone I want to meet, and seeing as I haven't been out of Yarrow since...well, since my birth, it might be nice to get out and see more of the lands. And other women of course," saying the last line with a smirk.
It was then that Calanthe took a pause to take another long sip of her tea. Just the thought of getting out of the Gardens for a change was quite captivating and thrilling.
"Hmmm, you want me to ask another question? Let's see...I now know your name, profession, your favorite kind of tea, and information on your daughter, Xiven. I'm not quite sure what else I could possibly want to know about you at this point in time. Well, here's a simple question. Do you have any other children besides Xiven?"

The answer was instant, "No. I'm afraid Xiven is the only one. Natural born Queen took a lot out of me I suppose. Not to mention I had her so terribly young." Xiven and her siblings were one of the biggest accidents she had ever had, all thanks to meeting Pravus officially for the first time.
She mentally wrote that off. "So you've never been outside the Gardens? That's interesting. I imagined someone as well rounded as you would have at least taken a trip or two out of the Gardens. Though I imagine most of the women here are comfortable never leaving the safety of their region. Bet you're all pretty upset about the mostly male regime with the Queens going on. Though that new Yarrow Mix Queen is pretty terrifying."
Personally Peaches didn't care much for the gender bitching the Yarrows did. Though she was pretty sure that Xiven at least got mild amusement out of it. She refrained from rolling her eyes.
"Enough about politics, there are better things to do and talk about. Have any plans for this evening, Calanthe?"

"I agree. Enough of this talk of politics and men. It is true, however, that many of us here prefer not to leave the comforts of the Yarrow Gardens. And though I am a strong believer in the beliefs of those who live here, I have had an interest in seeing and meeting people from other lands. You know, since so few come to the Gardens in the first place."
Calanthe wanted to be able to live up to being called well-rounded by Peaches. Just by having this chance meeting with her, she felt like she had opened a door to learn more about the world outside of the Gardens. There was no way that she could end this with Peaches now.
"So to answer your question, I am not doing anything tonight. You must have something in mind if you asked me about my plans, or lack thereof."
