Aleah's ears pinned slightly at the question. He knew full well he was supposed to have a Doe waiting for him. But…. things were never that simple. Never for one second did he think it would be so easy that he could just walk into the warren and demand his Doe.
"Perhaps he may. But I am not one to expect things to be given to me." And it was true. But even better, it was a well crafted means of implying that he was willing to do what was necessary to leave this place with a Doe in his possession. "Ah.. my manners. I apologize. The name is Aleah. I'd shake your hand but I'm afraid the experience would be unpleasant. "
But the Jack was probing. Aleah stood up a little straighter and took a step forward. Carefully, so as not to seem too aggressive, me merely stepped into the doorway and slightly in front of the two bizarre Does. But they weren't the ones he wanted… but they made for fine bartering chips.
"It seems that we are left with the spoils of war. I gladly offer you a pick between these two Does." Banvyne scoffed, and Aleah swung his head around to look at her so sharply that the Doe actually recoiled. This one. She would have to learn manners.
"And I propose a trade for the other. That one is your daughter, yes? Please Sir, do not be alarmed by my knowledge of who you are and what she is to you; I would have been terribly unprepared for this day had I not been looking into it. If anything, I'd ask that you see it as a compliment."
Layla squirmed, still very much held onto by the rather irate Banvyne. The poor leveret seemed terrified by the pure anger emanating off the Doe.

A small smile tweaked the edges of Anubis' muzzle at the first comment. Ah-ha a game. He cursed the fact that he was so weary, he'd much rather be sitting in his study with a cup of tea and all his gold finery about him when talking of these things. But necessity called, and he put on the same demeanor as he'd have in that situation.
A small bit of anger twisted in his gut as this new Jack began demanding things, and setting the tone of the bartering. He took a moment, assessing the situation. He supposed he could fight for them all. Especially as he wasn't overly interested in the 2 other Does. But with Yasmin being gone he had one. . . just one. And besides trade Dafina was of no use to him, he still had Ayanna for trade as well. Before he knew it he could be back up to 3 or 4 Does and several leverets.
"Understand, that I am only playing along because this is beneficial to the both of us. Perhaps when you're more established we may have dealings again. A proper Warren needs at least one Doe and a servant."
Besides, that leveret was. . . not to his taste.
"I agree to your trade, you shall have my daughter and that leveret, and I shall receive the other 2 Does. And perhaps you'll remember my kindness in the future."
He watched for the other's response quietly.
Dafina's head was buzzing. Aleah was a Jack and now. . . just like that.. . her mind was on fire. She was being traded for two does, at least in her mind. She could hardly wait to show her appreciation to Aleah.

Anubis' reaction was not surprising. He was a wounded beast showing his teeth, but they both knew that they were on even grounds, or quite possibly Anubis was even at a disadvantage considering his injuries. Aleah may be new to his body, but the blades on his feet and claws were not things foreign to him. The things the Jack was saying was borderline insulting, but Aleah would let them slide for now. He hid his ire with a cool smile.
"Oh, I certainly look forward to it." Especially when his casual letters involved relaying information of any offspring he had with his darling daughter. That would be the true, ah… comeuppance.
"Well then… little Banvyne. Unhand my leveret. You have your Jack to skip off to, the both of you."
And he stepped forward and came down on one knee so as to be eye level with Dafina; his prize. His tired and bloodshot eyes glinted brightly blue. "And you, my dear. Come here so I may have a look at you, now that I can truly appreciate your beauty."
Banvyne threw her hair and abruptly loosened her grip on the leveret, allowing it to all but fall to the floor. She carried herself with now small amount of haughtiness as she made her way to Anubis. Well, he -had- been the one she preferred… No matter that Aleah was a Highland Jack… she could swear the 'leveret' smell still clung to him. Or perhaps it was bias.
"I can honestly say I am pleased with this arrangement." Banvyne churred, tilting her head respectfully to Anubis. She really was quite oblivious to the fact -anyone- could find her uniqueness distasteful.

Anubis nodded swiftly, registering the tense response in the other Jack. Though he supposed he would have reacted in the same way had he'd been spoken to like that. Good, didn't want his daughter going to some pansy-ass. It was funny how even though he was bruised and battered the thrill of bartering excited him. The thought of Ayanna now lingered on his mind for a moment. Perhaps that was another trade that needed to happen sooner rather than later. A good supply of leverets would be useful in rebuilding his Warren.
Crap, he had no Warren to take his new Does home to. No matter, he would have it rebuilt in no time. He wasn't against dirtying his own paws. He took a step forward then stopped himself, perhaps shaking hands was not in anyone's best interest. Instead, he gave a quick bow to the other Jack before taking in his Does.
Anubis smiled quickly down at Banvyne, what an oddity. Pity she had all those mutations. . but, he tilted his head for a moment, his cleanest hand reaching down to grace one of her horns gently. "Gold?"
Hah, perhaps. . not as bad of a deal as he thought.
Dafina moved over towards Aleah, a sharp pang of sadness swelling her chest for a moment. Would this be one of the last time's she saw Father? She glanced back at him before moving forwards again and found herself eye-to-eye with Aleah. He was beautiful, as a Jack should be. She smiled warmly at him, her soft silky tail sweeping back and forth on the ground. The Doe found herself unable to say anything worth the words and so sat there, grinning at Aleah and tilting her head into his touch.

((You know what, Anubis? Yes, just for you. Her horns are now made of gold. <3 I like that.))

((Nat likes to make dreams come true XD))
Oh.. he was horridly dirty and covered in blood, but it was the blood of his conquest, yes? Well. He hadn't exactly won, but the two Jacks had truly done a number to one another. She would have liked it if Anubis had outright won but… at least he seemed less likely to kill her and stuff her in some hole.
She tilted her head slightly, so that her horns could glint in the rather scant light. "I suppose they are, do you approve?"
Gold. Aleah made a mental note of that. But he cared little of pondering too much of that as he used the knuckles of his handpaw to rest under Dafina's chin. Such a receptive thing. So different from his cold Valeny.
Yes.. his Valeny. Or rather, she would be his very soon.
He chuckled softly at the eagerness in which her tail swished behind her. A part of him wanted to merely sweep her up and take her away from this place, laying her into a patch of sweet Highland grass and taking her right then and there. But… that just wouldn't do. He offered the Torque Doe a smile to match her own before finally standing back up. He was so terribly.. Nude. If he kept thinking about such things he may embarrass himself.
"Perhaps…. we should search the place? We are equipped enough to perhaps deal with the Jack if he comes back if we team up. Besides, I need to find myself something suitable to wear. I won't go embarrassing your daughter by striding about in the buff. You… leveret. Watch the Does while we explore… Oh, tell me Anubis, what do you think would be the safest room for them to stay in while we explore?"

She watched the leveret twist in what looked to be pain before he started to.... elongate. for a moment she wanted to rush in and make sure he was alright, but something about the changes held her fast in her position. And there, right before her eyes, he changed into a Jack. Her lopped ears perked as best they could as she eyed him curiously. The day was getting interesting. More so when Anubis returned and the tow jacks started to.... barter?
The urge to laugh bubbled up from her stomach to her throat but she managed to kept it at bay with just a little bit of a sharp exhale. That would definitely be rather inappropriate, but it was just so funny that everything could go from hellish to what felt like normal in a matter of moments.
And then the bargains were done and she had been .... traded? She hadn't even been sure she was owned before but, well, perhaps now things could start moving even faster into a normal setting. She was a little sad to realize that Dafina would be going a separate way after this, the young doe seemed like the type that she could get close to, but was relieved to still have the strong presence of Banvyne with her. Even though the other Doe's ability to steal the attention of, well, everyone had her slightly disheartened at any attempt at being a little bolder. She was rather plain compared to her, just having wings and that horn of hers really.... of course no one would ever notice her. It also seemed like this Jack had a preference for Gold, another thing she lacked entirely. Good and bad this was, and she wasn't sure which one was the heavier weight.
What she unknowingly had, was a temperament and a set of mannerisms that mirrored her late mother's quite well. She moved over to Anubis and dipped her head respectively, looking up at him shyly before moving gracefully over to Banvyne's side.
And still, no one had even asked her for her name yet .... no one.
