Lucius gave the boy a very wicked look. He hated Outsiders. He could tolerate a certain few for the sake of necessity, but to have one blatantly disobeying him was just too much. His stare could've leveled mountains.
Malachior could sense the impending doom in the form of a very solid cane to the side of a young boy's head and he quickly intercepted. Placing himself between the Tulgey Snake and the young Heart Queen, Malachior lowered himself to the boy's level.
"Give it a rest boy. We've not done anything to hurt you and we only want to get you back to your father." Before he could say anything further, one of the figures in the distance had approached through the fog to confront them. Malachior adjusted his glasses, brows knitting as he studied the strange green nose and took in his odd explanation.
A lost Queen of Clubs? ....Titled? Had he been raised in a box?
The mere approach of the heron seemed to have offended the Serpent and he did not bother to hide his disdain nor his disgust. He shot a look down to the Heart boy as if to say Look! Do you see what you've done?! and turned haughtily back to the Club.
"Are you daft? Or do you think me some sort of moron?" He spat out, a brow arched and his face a clear mask of his displeasure. "If you intend to lie to me, Your Majesty, please concoct a more satisfying fabrication." How could he even be sure this man was a Titled Queen and not a high-ranking madman? And he suggested that his Copper friend was, in fact, just as inept at traversing a well-known City as he was? Urg. The terrible things one must deal with in the Capital! "However, we are indeed on our way to a nearby Inn. If you and your companion desires to follow us, you may."

Conall froze. It was impossible to mistake the look on the snake's face, and there was no mistaking the fact that he had very little room to run. He was more than a little grateful that the deer decided to step in.
He pouted for a moment as Malachior spoke. So spoiled brat wasn't going to work either. "Fine," he said quietly. His voice was lowered so only the Spade Corvie could hear him. He was at least nicer than the snake. "But could you take a look at my head or something. Like I said earlier I don't... remember important things."
And then he was getting another death glare, those this time it was mildly justified considering they were now talking to a Club. A high ranking supposedly titled Club. Not like the title made much of a difference at a time like this. He was making weird claims about not knowing the city and his companion--a police officer--didn't know her way around.
The snake had the right idea. "Miss Police Officer weird break ins have been happening near the station. I was there before, but there wasn't a single officer around." He stayed safely behind the deer, showing a clear distaste for the Queen of Clubs by ignoring his very existence.

Fetu missed the heron poking at his nose and she didn't particularly note the color of his nares with her glasses on. Thus, the comment came out of left field and she glanced at him strangely. Before she could do more than mumble an affirmative response, however, more figures came into view.
This sounded like realm politics or Court business, all of it. Every word. The haughty bearing of the two men spoke of money and power, and the serpent's casual sneer towards a self-proclaimed titled Queen and an Officer of the law only solidified their likely importance in the woman's mind. And Queen Sabe tried to pull the wool over their eyes with a fabrication. She just barely avoided shooting the man a dark look, insteak retaining some measure of neutrality in her expression. At the very least, she didn't look at the heron. She kept her eyes behind their shades trained firmly on the trio in front of them.
"The reason for our approaching the inn just ran away, Your Majesty," she said in a calm voice. Logic. That might help them. Or at least, it would have until the bizarre and freakish child began to speak.
Not... not a single officer at the station? Was the boy making something up? Disturbed, she stared at him for a long moment before returning her attention to the pair of pale adults. "Sirs, do you have any way of verifying what this child just said? Is there no one present at the Capital Police Station?" Because if that truly was the case, things were spiralling further out of control than she could possibly anticipate and she needed to get in touch with someone immediately.

Sabe stood there for a moment, realizing his folly. He probably should have acted like a petty commoner to these folks to have them think that this was some sort of curtsy to the poor. Though the Queen in him had no thought of the matter, no matter rank or suit wealth and power held no sway over his almost non-existing thoughts of political matters. Suits... he wasn't even sure where he stood at the moment in the courts... he just made sure things were done regardless of what he looked like in the end of the matter. This from these two, where not to be tolerated in the slightest, Cards should know there place and have their respect to those that were of the power over the Realms.
He was about to say something with some rather rude comments but the child had said something, something that irked him the most. Break ins... vandalism... and suits beware... probably wide spread panic and murder. These thoughts crossed his mind as he ran the documents that he may have to write up later in the Courts... many things were going to be in need of explaining. Suits knows that not everyone was here, else these streets would be crowded and hawkers yelling, but things were just quiet and foggy.
He looked up to the rather odd trio that had approached... they seemed to be daft on the situation and he felt no need to tell them what was going on, if they wanted to hold their noses high, then let them... more the easier for someone to slip a blade accr.... no.
He placed a hand on his head... one shouldn't think things like that... it must be this blasted situation making him think like that. He looked back up to the trio and leaned on his staff. "Believe me not if you wish, but I assure you that I'm a titled queen in the courts... the situation here is more dire than you think, have you not noticed yet? Or are you daft between the ears with your wealth and power to not look beyond?" he said as he gripped the cane in his hands more tightly. Before they would be able to utter a word did he continue in a authoritative voice. "I believe that if you travel alone any longer that you may be subject to someones twisted humor of slitting your throats... or vanish like all the others have, for we have lost two already in less than a span of shortened breaths. Ask the small one there... for it seems that he had seen something that may get you thinking." with that he turned to start to leave... showing pity on his face for the three... hopefully one of them could get off their pedestals and think for a change on what was happening around them. "Are you coming officer Fetu... we need to get to the bottom of this... if they wish to follow and stay safe then let them come... if not, then its just more paperwork later." he said as he started walking to the nearest Police station that he knew of.
There was all sorts of stupid in the world... and ignorance was the worst kind. His clawed feet tapped on the cobbled stone street as he walked down the poorly lit streets... making sure that all the time that he kept hi sears open for anything... especially those behind him. Rich people hated being told.

(Hurargh. I'm terribly sorry for all the words. Did not mean for it to get so long.)
The old buck gave the boy an odd look, as if trying to express concern but failing a bit. He did manage a somewhat kindly half-smile and he laid a hand lightly on Conall's head. "As soon as we have a well-lit space to examine it, I shall." The boy reminded him a bit of Ophelia, she was always a bit stubborn and feisty at the worst of times but when it came down she was still a child that needed looking after.
During the brief time it took to whisper reassurances to the boy, the Club Queen and Lucius managed to have a wonderful altercation involving a good mixture of stupidity and aristocratic arrogance and plain ignorance on both their parts. Malachior arched a brow, rising to his feet as the Queen accused them of being unaware of their surrounding situation while giving absolutely no room for either of them to defend themselves. Had he given Malachior half a breath to defend himself, he would've proved to be polite and helpful to another titled member of the Courts and no part at all in Lucius's scathing tongue. Not to mention that, from his time with Conall, he had gleaned a good deal of what was going on from the kidnapping of the boy in question and his obvious mistreatment to the break ins and other such unsettling events.
The threats were useless on impressing either King and, had he given the other man any room to speak, utterly unnecessary.
Lucius, meanwhile, had reached a new level of disdain for this Queen of Clubs. The whole suit was absolute filth and even their nobles were to be looked down upon, to the realmist Tulgey this was all further proof of the utter uselessness of the Outsider's Courts. What a pity, he did so have aspiration for his fellow Hearts, even those unfortunate lot from outside of The Wood.
The serpent strummed his fingers over the serpent head of his staff in blatant impatience but gave him the respect enough to let him finish, if only to spite him for his rudeness.
"I never doubted your Queenship, only the lies you use to gain fellowship." He sneered on with casual distaste seeping out of every word as the Queen turned his back on him. "Good evening, Your Majesty." He offered flippantly though the sneer was not far from his voice. "May your evening be blessedly full of paperwork and slit throats."
Malachior cleared his throat, shaking his head to show his disapproval of the Tulgey's snark before turning to Fetu. The young woman would probably leave with the Queen, they seemed to be working together after all, but Malachior had business to attend to with Lucius and would remain with his current partner. Still, as one Spade to another, he would at very least offer his parting advice to the office.
"The boy speaks the truth. Dr. Zenon's laboratory and the police station beside it have both been burglarized, previous to which the doctor and a few others found the boy. He appears to be suffering amnesia from some sort of mistreatment previous to that and we are currently en-route to the Court of Hearts to find return to him to his Father, a titled King." Once he had shared everything he could find to be useful, he offered the office a slight bow. "Good evening - Fetu was it? - and good luck with these strange occurrences, I hope nothing too troublesome has befallen your fellows."

Conall gave a grateful sigh at the man's comment. It would be nice to be fixed. At least, he hoped so. It was hard to hope for better things when he couldn't particularly remember what those better things were. His tail twitched nervously as he listened to the rest of the conversation that the adults were having.
And really, adults were stupid. It was amazing how many times this was proven on one evening. Maybe there was something in the air that was driving everyone crazy? He wrinkled his nose at the Queen of Clubs who was just... ugh. Clubs. There seemed to be something wrong with the suit as a whole. That bird had been acting really funny the entire time.
His eyes widened at the suggestion of going back to the police station. He didn't want to. They would have to drag him, and he would honestly put up a fit that rivaled no other. He just wanted to be made better, and he honestly didn't think that was too much to ask for. He glanced towards the Heart who had clearly made up his mind. The Corvie was handling himself with a good deal of grace, however, so he stayed behind him for a few moments longer.
Conall swallowed and gave a small bow towards the woman. "I'm sorry. I don't want to go back there. Be careful, please." She really was interesting. Hisstors were prettier in person than in books, that was for certian.

((Alright. In a desperate attempt to fix this...
Lucius will be taking the boy to the Palace of Hearts...it seems a good idea to follow, seeing as the rest of the city seemed so empty...it doesn't seem likely that anyone is going to be out there. Sabe really ought not to wander off alone...he'll feel quite suspicious of his surroundings once away from everyone else...and if that taffy was any hint...nothing's seeming too friendly tonight. At least at the Palace there ought to be people he can correspond with intelligently and get hlp from, right?))

((I hope that this fixes it somewhat, ^_^. Its still the way that he thinks so it fits him to do so. Sorry about before Vyn/Muffin a huge misunderstanding, XD))
Sabe stopped mid stride... it didn't feel right, he turned to his right and saw the fog shifting in a odd way that made him feel rather uncomfortable... something was off and he didn't like it at all. It was as if something moved through it. He caught movement to his left and saw that the fog was shifting there as well, things that didn't feel right. The aura that his wings gave off seemed to make his mind up for him... he couldn't leave the others to this fate, things were just not right here... he could take care of himself, but he feared for the others safety. So he started to walk backwards, taking quick glances behind him all the time watching the shifting fog.
Something was out there... moving without sound nor the shift of wind. It was crazy... the others must be protected... no matter how he felt about them.
Once back to the group where they could see him did he finally turn his back to the shifting fog. "Upon further inspection I think that it would be wise to stick together for the time being... you said something about returning the boy to the titled king in the Court of Hearts? If so I'll acompany you there, but after I need to attend my own court." he said to the trio before him, looking out at the shifting fog. "Officer Fetu... I know that this is your area, but I think it would be safer if you would come with us as well." he said to her with a look to the fog behind him that shifted slightly once again.

Fetu tried to keep herself self-contained and under control as conversation continued and she warred with herself. She had a responsibility to her station, to report back as soon as possible and see what she could do to help. But if no one was present... then returning would be foolish. Worse, it would likely be dangerous. Who knew what the streets were like that close to reported mayhem?
Queen Sabe would also be an invaluable witness when it came time to settle in and deal with the aftermath of whatever was going on right now. She raised a paw and opened her mouth to say something - anything - to stop him from walking off, but her throat was still tight and she gaped for a moment soundlessly before the Corvie spoke to her.
The station. Burglarized. She had some difficulty imagining the scene, especially having seen some of the defences her superiors kept in place. "But sir... I don't-" The freakish boy's polite warning made her want to whine in distress and she hadn't felt that way in more years than she could remember.
Grasping her paws tightly at her sides and digging the nails in just slightly, she stared at the group around her from behind her light-shielding glasses. The heron had returned. Oh... oh good.
She stood somewhat straighter, her fur trying to bristle even as she controlled it as best she could. Her words were quiet, clipped, and clear. "Sirs. I would be remiss in my duty if I did not accompany you to the palace of Hearts - for several reasons. If the situation further downtown is as dire as you say then I will be of little help alone. At the very least, we can approach the Court of Hearts for advice and assistance. Perhaps someone there will be able to get in contact with someone in this city who possesses some answers."
