I'll be right back!
He placed the pack around his neck and shifted down, glancing back at her for a moment before her turned and bounded off, tail arched so it wouldn't drag the ground and navy feathers waving side to side. He he headed straight back to the bushes, but he wasn't going there entirely for berries ... he did still have to make up for making her so sad after all.
He gathered up the berries first and tucked them in his bag, not even having to shift back up into his bipedal because of the way rat paws were built. Once he'd just about filled his pouch he started looking for a few others things and, upon finding them, settled down to take the extra little bit of time to fashion her a little gift before he tucked his handiwork into the pouch as well. He made his way out of the bushes, checked to make sure the pouch was closed really well and adjusted where it fell, he took off for the stream as fast as his little vermin legs would carry him. He hoped he wasn't gone for too long and he called out to her as he approached.
Ilana? Ilana I'm back!

She didn't want to see him go, but at the same time, she was glad for the time apart. She needed to get her thoughts under control, and her mood back to normal. She hadn't felt so crushed and disappointed since she first realized Aurelius' secret, and that he would never be cured of it. But this was something much more personal, and she found that it hurt a lot more then she was expecting it to. She sighed a little when she knew he was out of earshot, and watched as the water slowly took away the dried mud from her fur, creating a brown cloud behind her as the water flowed, it was kind of a pretty spectecal even if it was just mud and water. She set to washing herself a little more agressively, rubbing herself to get the big clumps out, taking a break when she hurt her anckle in just the littlest way, making sure it got it's needed rest.
She was clean within minutes, but Tavor was still not back. Oh well, she thought...swimming wasn't that bad. She moved herself into deeper water, so that it was just her head and neck above the skin, her legs touching the bottom. She moved her injuried leg as if swimming. At first it was painful, but she knew it was nessesary for getting her foot back in the right shape. After a while longer it was just a dull ache...and she was sure with a bit more rest it would be as good as new faster then the both of them could have hoped. Well, at least that was some good news for Tavor when he came back.
She heard his voice behind her, and her head swirveled to look at him, a small smile on her lips. "I'm still in the water." she called to him, and started to move herself out, though careful of her back leg. She had, after all, just made it feel better, she didn't need to be walking on it and ruin all her work.

Pale ears swiveled forward when he heard her voice and then dark eyes shifted their gaze to the water and spotted her. A rather cheerful smile crept over his muzzle and he made his way over to her, practically radiating his cheerful excitement, which leaked into his voice as well.
I have something for you!
He was still well, filthy but he didn't quite care at the present moment. He knew his little gift would completely make up for how disappointed she looked just a bit ago but, well, he hoped it would at least make her smile. The real kind that went right to the eyes preferably, she was awful pretty when she smiled after all.
Er ... well, I got the berries too but besides them I do have a surprise.
He chuckled lightly, a hint of nervousness causing it to go up in pitch toward the end. Suits, why was he so nervous about giving her a simple little gift?

She pulled herself slowly out of the water, her good legs wabbley as she walked slowly onto the dry land. She shook her body, water flying everywhere for a moment, her hair poofing only slightly as it was forced to spike in different directions, and stumbling a bit before regaining her balance. She was still sopping wet, and wanted to lay down, but there really was no way around getting dirty if she did that now. She had to wait to air dry before she laid herself down on the ground. She looked over at him a bit, happy to see him so excited about whatever it was that he was excited about. It put a smile on her face. "Oh Tavor, you didn't have to get anything for me..." and he really hadn't needed to, but she appreciated the gesture, and moved towards him, limping slightly, but finally getting the hand of walking on three legs.
"I'd be lying though if I said I wasn't curious." she said, a bit of excitmeant starting to show in her voice. She waited, not wanting to see so pushy, but...being extremely curious. What could he have possibly gotten her? Did that mean that he had found a town? Or maybe he made it? That made her blush and giggle. How adorible if that was true. It made a part of her hurt inside though. Had she been that sad? Or was it purely out of kindness and he hadn't realized how devistated she was before? Now a new hurt hit her, a memory of knowing that he had not felt the same. Her smile fell only slightly, but she quickly recovered.

I know ... but I wanted too.
His tail twitched as he set the pouch down on the ground and rested a paw stop it, not quite ready to give in and share what he had for her. However she was already smiling and that pleased him to no end. His grin switched to a somewhat mischievous one and he tilted his head to the side, flicking his whiskers forward.
Close your eyes.
He waited until he was certain her eyes were closed before he flipped the pouch open and peered at the little trinket he had made, and then back up to her. And then it hit him, he'd definitely have to switch up to his bipedal for this so he did. Carefully he took the little necklace, well, it was supposed to be one anyhow, and slipped it over her head to let slide down her neck and rest there. It was a rather simple type, vines interwoven with a few pink and yellow flowers as accents, but he was proud of it and, well .... he hoped it cheered her up a bit.
Ok, open them!

She looked at the patch on the ground, tail wiggling slightly, in a mix of excitement and curiousity. Green eyes looked up at him, smiling a bit when he stared back with a mischievous grin. She laughed a bit. "Ok..." she said softly, dark eyelashes hitting against her emerald cheeks. She continued to smile, her eyebrows sqewed only slightly in her curiousity. She had a feeling whatever he had gotten her was magnificent, and she could really hardly wait, as told by the ferocity of her tail wiggling.
She listened to the rustling noise he made as he rumaged through the pack, her ears flicking slightly to the noise. She felt the trinket around her neck. It felt fresh, made of nature, and it smelled like a fine perfume. She couldn't help but give a little sigh at the smell, any tense muscles seeming to relax. She opened her eyes as directed and quickly looked down. "It's lovely!" she squeed with excitment, a toothy smile Tavor's reward for giving her such a truely beautiful thing. She limped over to the water without another word to look at her reflection. It was positively beautiful. "You are quite a craftsman!"

The smile he eventually got was far more then he'd really expected, but it was a rather wonderful surprise. He didn't think she'd like it that much but ... well, who wouldn't want a reaction like that to something you made specifically for someone? Her comment had his cheeks turning a nice little shade of rose before the comment that lingered on the tip of his tongue intensified it. Well suits .... why not? His voice was soft, and he really tried to make it even and not ... squeaky.
N-not much of a comparison to ... to you.
And there the color went... right up to his ears again. But she liked it! That was terribly exciting, and it kept a little grin on his face despite his embarrassment. He really hadn't meant to sound like he was flat out turning her down earlier, he wasn't, he just ... needed time is all.
Oh ... right ... he brought breakfast back to. He grabbed up the bag and made his way over to the side of the water to join her before tilting his head to peer at her... hum, she couldn't quite get comfortable still wet but ... well... he pushed his bag toward her none the less.
Breakfast? Er ... well ... it's probably lunch by now but ...

Ilana was a simple creature really. Anything nice was greatly appreciated, and especially something from Tavor would be even more then that. She just couldn't hold a grudge, couldn't hold onto the sadness from before. True, she wished that Tavor had told her something other then he did, but well...she considered herself lucky to just be in his presence. His comment made her blush, and her eyes softened as she craned her head to look back at him. "You really are sweet Tavor..." she said just above a whisper, and then nothing more as she looked into the water. She didn't trust herself to say anything more. And really, what else was there to say.
The water still dropped from her body, clinging desperately to her fur, and she tried shaking herself out once again before Tavor joined her at her side, a bag full of deliciously brightly colored berries just begging to be eaten. Her mouth was positively watering. "Suits...I forgot how hungry I was..." she said laughing a little when her stomach chose that moment to rumble, as if to say 'less talking, more eating'. When he gave her the bag, she took that as permission to eat. She bent her head down delicately and grabbed a berry in her mouth gingerly before flinging it back and chewing. "Wow...these are just...so ready to be eaten. Good job finding these." she said with a smile.

He peered into the water for a moment, smiling a bit to himself before he went ahead and placed his feet in. It was a little chilly but that was alright at least he was able to do this ... without being as afraid as he had been before he'd gone to Midori. Now that he took a moment to reflect on things... when he traveled things either went horribly or horribly bad and maybe, just maybe this was one of those horribly good trips? And, well ... if Ilana was correct then ... maybe she was the good thing about this trip? Suits ... he really didn't know. He was grateful for the distraction that breakfast, lunch... whatever it was brought, he didn't have to think about any of this now.
I don't think many people come out here for berries so .... the bushes were full of them.
He reached into the bag taking out a handful and eating them one by one that way. There was actually more then one kind of berry in the bag, he thought she'd appreciate a wee bit of variety.
I'm glad you like them I ... was afraid they wouldn't be to your... liking.
