"No...I'm afraid we are probably a good distance away from any town. No one would come this far out to pick berries. I wonder exactly how far away we are though..." She said, a bit of worry coming to her voice. They were significantly slowed down now because of her leg, and they really did have to get back to a town. At the very least to ask around about the rose...but supplies...and now some proper first aid things were also needed.
She tried not to worry herself to much...They would just have to go at whatever pace they would have to go...and that was all there was to it. She looked at Tavor's reflection in the water as he ploped the different berries in his mouth, one after the other, his little muzzle wiggling in that way that was just so...rodent like. It was rather cute, and it put a smile on her face. She grabbed up some more berries in her mouth, and decided, wet or not to lay down. Her leg was starting to ache a little bit. "Oh...you can never go wrong with fruit. It's really natures candy." she giggled a bit.

Well ... You shouldn't worry yourself. There's some berries left on the bushes and I'm certain I can root up some tubers later for dinner, and the storm would have knocked down some more branches .... we've got everything we need for a few days if need be.
He curled his tail up pleasantly behind him as he continued to enjoy the first food he'd eaten in a day and a half and that probably made the berries taste that much better. After another few berries a thought hit him, she was probably worried about her leg, right? He could, potentially, put at least a bit of that anxiety to rest... .hopefully.
I also have some first aid supplies in my bag ... I never leave home without them ... they'd just under berries now.
He laughed lightly at this, only then realizing he hadn't taken anything out of his bag before he filled it with their lunch. It was no big deal really, just a little slip in his intelligence really... but he knew he at least had something to wrap her leg with.
Mmmm yes ... but I do love home made sweets to. I've got ... a bit of a sweet tooth.

"Well...I suppose a couple days of camping isn't so bad. Hopefully the rains won't come back...and well, we seem to have a rather nice set up here...with the stream and such. Besides...we were going to do a bit of camping anyway...right?" she said trying to assure herself more then the rat. He already seemed to have a gameplan, and for that she was very grateful. It meant that she could calm herself down a bit. She simply nodded when he mentioned having the first aid supplies, and laughed slightly at the last bit of it. That was another thing she was glad for, it really was the main reason for her worry. After all, it wouldn't do to heal incorrectly...then she would probably have to re-injure herself or something of that nature...and she really didn't want to do that.
"My sweet tooth fluctuates a great deal, though I must admit that it's very active right now with these berries!" she said with a smile before eating another couple of berries, when her mouth was less full she continued, "Even if I don't have the sweet tooth for it, I enjoy baking. It takes my mind off things, and is just...fun i suppose..."

I used to travel a lot ... camping really isn't that bad. Well, some places it is but this really doesn't seem bad at all.
He wouldn't make her think otherwise by referring to his night in the Tulgey at all. It wasn't that bad of an experience if the reputation of the region was correct, but it had been an absolutely terrifying night in his memory and he hadn't slept at all for fear of being eaten. He had his cloak power active but he'd mostly feared it deactivating in his sleep and a silent death coming for him when it did. He really didn't fancy the thought of being eaten ...
That's good to hear, I've got a lot of respect for anyone who can bake. I can do some mediocre cooking ... but baking is beyond me. I burn things. Isolde used to try out all her new recipes on me when we were younger ... I'm surprised I'm not round.
He grinned as he grabbed a half handful of berries, getting the first feel of his supplies. He released the berries and carefully picked out his kit with two claws and brought it out. It had some berry juice on the container, but he was certain nothing inside was compromised.
Aha!

She looked around a bit as he spoke. No, this place really wasn't that bad. The trees were full, light made it through the canopy, the sounds of birds and other small wildlife could be heard now as the day progressed. It was a very calming place once you weren't throttled by the fear of being alone and camping when youve never really done it before. "I know you are right...I suppose I just need to get out more often." she laughed nervously, before stopping and bending her head down to get more berries from the pouch.
She muched quietly for a while, listening to him talk about Isolde, with a small nod or inflection where it was appropriate. She couldn't help but feel the burning sensation in her leg now that her nerves had been sedated slightly. She tired to put on a grin and work through the pain, but soon it was evident from her facial expression that it was no longer painless. "You are lucky...must have good metabolism. My brothers and my sister were blessed with the same...I have to be a little more careful...I can gain weight quickly. Mother says it's a good sign for bearing..." she stopped herself...realizing she was about to say something embarrassing...and instead covered it up with a hissing inhale of breath that she had been supressing. Her ankle was really starting to hurt.
She watched him dig around for the kit...and was glad when he finally found it, "I hate to be...rushing...but...do you think you can make up my ankle now? I'm beginning to feel a ....fair amount of pain." she said between slightly gritted teeth.

His ears twitched every now and again as she spoke ... oh how he loved listening to other people talk ... especially the softer tones used for conversational speech. He took note of a little something extra in her voice, but he wasn't entirely certain what it was until she gave that hissing inhale and it instantly got a look of concern from him. He couldn't do anything instantly for the pain, but he could wrap it up and make sure it had a bit of pressure on it to dull it .... he had a concoction for pain ... he's just need to boil it. In other words any curiosity of that little embarrassing thing she'd almost shared was completely overshadowed.
Actually ... I was about to insist that you let me. I'm afraid the only thing I've got for pain will take a little while to fix up but ... it shouldn't be too long.
He leaned forward just enough to stick his hands into the cool water to wash off any little remnants of berry off before he brought them out and shook off most of the water .... he didn't really have anything to dry his hands but it shouldn't be to bad ... it was just water. He turned back and flipped open his little traveling med kit and took out a small container of salve along with a rolled up bandage and a bit of tape as well before moving over to her injured leg on his knees.
Might hurt a little bit but ... I'll be as gentle as possible, I promise.
He set everything down for a moment to careful take her leg in his hand and inspected it a bit more closely, nope ... nothing broken but she'd definitely sprained it along with the scrape. He dropped one hand to awkwardly remove the lid from the little jar and dipped a finger inside before spreading the salve over the scrape. Next he scooped up the rolled bandage and started to apply it to her limb, making sure it was a little snug and finally he taped up the ends so nothing would come loose before it needed to.
There you are. He tilted his head to the side and gave her a reassuring smile .... he hoped he hadn't hurt her to much in the process ...

She simply nodded. "I understand...I'm glad you have anything at all for the pain...or it would be a long night. I'll manage until you can fix some up...I'm very grateful." she said, the last bit spoken with a warm smile that fought back all the pained expressions from before. She simply noded when he said it might hurt a tad. She figured it would...but well...once it was over her leg could start healing...which was most important to her. She could take a little pain if it meant everything was going to be better later.
His hands were calloused and skilled. She hissed a little, and blush as he quickly corrected himself to make whatever he was doing less painful. His attentiveness was adorible. "Thank you.." she added softly when he was done, looking over his handywork and giving him a small smile. She had to admit...the pressure was pleasurable...compared to the pain she felt before...it had significantly dulled. This would certainly do until he could fix her up some pain killers. She didn't want to be pushy about it...but part of her hoped he would get on that right away.
"Where did you ever learn first aid? I suppose if you camp as much as you do its a must know."

He moved back over to his pouch after collecting the salve and tape and returned it to the box and took out another container, one that took up most of the box actually. It was filled with what looked to be a variety of ground up leaves and other plant parts and even a bit of powder as well. He grabbed something from the bottom of his pouch and dumped the contents back inside once he did ... it was a little pot, the perfect size for cooking things in for a single person on a trip. He may not have been completely prepared for the trip but he always made sure his travel bag had all the non-perishable items needed for a stay out in the wilderness.
Trial and error for the most part ... the rest from books.
He made a rather large effort to keep his voice calm and even instead of letting it go soft and blank, she didn't like it when he did that ... and he didn't want to make her feel bad for asking him questions, she certainly didn't know what may or may not bring up something awful from his past. He'd had to fix himself up countless times and, well .... sprains were relatively easy.
Do you remember seeing anywhere I might find quick fire wood on our way in?
He peered back at her and flicked one rounded little white ear forward ... he also didn't want her to start feeling useless because she'd hurt herself either ....

She didn't sense anything in his voice as he spoke. Maybe she was beginning to realize it was better not to pry with him...that or he was getting better at covering up moments of faltering. She watched as he pulled out everything he would need, silently thanking him for being so considerate and getting right on to the making of the concoction. She looked up at him, as he asked her where he might find some firewood. She sighed a little. She couldn't help but feel like she wasn't much help...but well...she supposed there was nothing she could really do about it...after all...she would just injure herself further if she went around and tried to find firewood. Her leg was feeling great and she didn't want to mess it up. Especially when he seemed all to eager to oblige for her.
"I can't remember if I tripped over a rock or a piece of wood...but I would check in that direction...there was lots of foliage...I imagine there would be a lot of dead debris you could use..." she blushed slightly at her lack of recollection. If only she could properly remember. She looked around, lime green ears swirvelling, trying to pick up any noises of cracking or splintering wood as the wildlife moved around them. But nothing. "I appologize.....I should learn to be more observent..." she blushed again.
