[[ This starts in Kahmden .... but it'll end and such in Avington so..... it's here <3 ]] Oy, he needed a break. The kids and his new hobby/occupation were great and all, but the combination of them all, and the awkwardness that still lingered in regards to the children, was driving him slowly mad and he was starting to get... a bit of a short temper and he really didn't like raising his voice at others. Thus he'd made arrangements between Maxwell, Anatolius and, to a degree... Ophelia and Acheron, in regards to the care of the kids while he was gone. He tried very hard to schedule it to where neither side would get fed up with the trio but still have time to actually enjoy them as well. And it also helped that the trio didn't mind spending time with their grandparents or their father .... so it all worked out in the end ... And he got a little vacation .... even though he'd miss everyone terribly while he was away. He wasn't here entirely for pleasure either, he was here to check out the local foliage and investigate something he'd heard about a rather fetching variety of miniature roses. But first he needed to find someone who was willing to talk to him, and ... kindly for that matter, so he could get his bearings straight. This was his first visit here, after all, and he wanted it to go well. Now .... where could he find a guide... or... a companion?

Ilana had always been, or had always felt like she had been, in some way united with the natural world around her. She enjoyed the chirping of songbirds, the rustling of squirrels and other small rodents in the bushes, the way the wind moved through the grass at the local park. These things gave her peace, and a sence of belonging. She knew that she would always have a place among those things green and growing, and she knew that it was where she would always want to be. Though, not unlike most people, she felt as if she needed to know more about herself, realize more fully who she really was other then just a cultivator of plants. She felt like this might best be accomplished by visiting the places of origin. What were the people like? What was the places history? Where did her bloodlines come from? All these things she wondered, and she knew she might find at least some of the answers if she went. So upon reaching adulthood, and when she could finally feel safe leaving her family behind (after all, some of the members needed her help and support), she decided to finally make her trip. Today she had made it the Forest of Kahmden after a rather long trek. She was feeling a bit tired, but ultimately a sweet and content smile fell upon her features. Already she was appreciating the thick forests, and her ears swiveled this way and that to collect sounds. Her nose sniffed the pastel flowers she passed and took in their aromatic scent. It only made her smile wider. It was then that she heard the footfall of another, and she slowed her pace. "Hello?" she said softly into the wind...wondering silently if she would find friend or foe. She hoped....desperately...that it would be a friend.

Oh, wasn't the flora here just.... lovely? He'd been in the capitol these last few years and, well, besides his own little paradise it just wasn't this pretty. To many buildings, to many people just .... to many man made thing in general. It was nice to be out and about with nature once more and a pleasant smile crossed his muzzle as he moved toward a particularly nice looking tree to get a better look at the leaves which were hanging down and just... .begging to be touched.
Purple claws were a mere breath away from caressing the leaves when the soft little call came to his ears, which instantly perked at the sound. How delightful, he'd just been thinking of finding someone and... it looked like a someone had found him instead. The voice... sounded friendly, it was just one word after all, but he moved toward it none the less. He went out places to meet people and, even though he was generally rather awkward with them, he enjoyed it. Well.... when he could see them... and he really couldn't see her quite yet so he simply returned her call in his own soft voice.
Hello?

There was a moment of silence, and Ilana almost walked off, but for the fact that she finally heard a small voice replying back to her. For a moment, she thought it might have been an echo, the word was said so softly, just as she had done. But it was most certainly masculine. Her feet fidgetted, rustling the ground below her slightly. Should she persue whoever it was? She wasn't sure if she should be travelling alone with a man running around somewhere in this forest, hidden by the foliage. It just didn't seem safe. She took a moment to think about her next move.
She cursed a little in her mind, wishing now that she might have kept quiet. After all, she now had made herself known, it would be rude not to respond back...right? "Who's there?" her voice came out quiet yet again, though she hoped she sounded more confident then frightened. She didn't want to make the other think she was scared, even if she was very...edgey about being alone. It was never good to let a potential foe know you were weak
She almost wished she had thought this through a little better then she had. Maybe she should have asked Aurelius to come. He was having way to much fun with his old friend who he decided to go live with however. Maybe Claudius would have come? He would protect her, he always had in past situations, and being from Kahmden himself, he should probably have had some interest in the place...right? She bit her bottom lip, a bit more anxious then she had started out.

He remained near the tree for a moment, dropping his hand back down to his side as he waited with perked ears for a response. Maybe he was hearing things? Ah, no, there was that voice again ... and he now had a rather good idea where it was coming from as well and he debated whether or not to just answer.... or to actually go and find the source of this ... rather pleasant sounding voice. Well, he would go ... and where that got him he'd just have to see.
He stepped toward the sound and curled his feather tipped tail up and away from the ground. He moved around a rather large bush, or was it a small tree?, and peered around it to see if he'd been correct about her location. He kept his expression friendly, even though his nerves were starting OT act up again ... meeting new people was always fun, exciting and.... completely frightening all at once.
Me?
He hadn't meant for that response to come out as a question, and when he realized that it had, and how utterly stupid he sounded, red creped up onto his cheeks under his fur.

Ilana kept her eyes peeled, her head turning this way and that when there was no answer for a time. She began to panic slightly. Oh suits, why had she said anything? She might have been able to get away with just saying "Hello" then running away. Suits darn her manners. Her tail flicked uncomfortibly, and she began moving away from the small clearing she had found herself in, moving to find cover, or just start to move away at the very least. Suddenly a rodent head stuck out behind a bush that she had been heading towards. It made her jump backwards slightly, her thin and delicate legs showing off how tence she was briefly, before she calmed down significantly. The creature seemed nice enough, at least his facial features didn't seem to indicate he was going to harm her. She sighed with relief. "You gave me a bit of a fright there..." she said chuckling melodiously.
As color crept into his face, she found that she could feel a flush in her own cheeks and it only made the feeling grow more intense. "I'm sorry if I have disturbed you...I'm just travelling through, seeing what their is to see..." she said with a bit of a grin, her tail now swishing in a comfortible happiness. She didn't really know what to say next however. Was she being a bother? Should she introduce herself? "Forgive me...my name is Ilana...what is yours stranger?"

When tension noticeably crept over her body, his own tensed up as well which resulted in the fanning of his tail feathers. But she relaxed and he did as well, it just took him until she laughed. And what a pretty laugh it was to! He'd always been a sucker for pleasant sounds, and even more so for cards with pleasant voices. It may have relaxed him but ... it caused the red on his cheeks to darken a bit. Suits, he didn't think he'd be running into a pretty girl .... that always made things so much more awkward.
He stepped out from behind the bush fully, rubbing the back of his neck in a nervous manner, his smile shifted to one that possessed an embarrassed, yet apologetic manner to it. He really hadn't meant to frighten anyone ... and it was always such an... odd thing when he did.
I'm s-sorry.
Well damn, now that stutter of his was back and... damn! Now she would be able to tell he was half lowland club and she'd probably change her tone... He'd taken notice of the Heart on her own chest and, well .... Hearts hadn't exactly been the kindest creatures to him in the past, with a few exceptions of course. he'd just have to wait and see really. And... he really had to squash that stutter right away .... it was embarrassing.
I was .... doing the same thing really .... just stopping to ... check out the foliage here.
His tail tip twitched nervously back and forth without him really realizing it and his ears weren't quite sure if they wanted to rest sideways or.... remain perked forward.
I'm Tavor.

"Oh..no need to apologize. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat anyway..." she said, realizing that the poor rat seemed to be much more nervous then she was. She was a woman who could very easily pick up on the emotions of others, and was extremely sensitive to those things. She gave him a reassuring smile, hoping that it would be enough to show him she meant no harm. He sure was adorible, stuttering and being so flustered as he was, she couldn't help but continue to blush as he did. Though she was not going to let the bit of awkwardness of the situation carry her mind away.
She gave him a once over when he stepped from behind the bushes, and immidiately her eyes traveled down to his tail, where the skin was beginning to rot away and show flesh and bone. Oh, poor guy was part lowlands. He didn't seem to have the malicious intent that she had heard lowlands tended to have however, so she didn't worry to much about it. If anything, she was more worried about his overall health. "Is your tail ok? Do you need some help with it?" she asked pushing her nose against a small stachel slung around her neck, as if to indicate she might have something for him.
His choppy words interupted her thoughts slightly. Her tail wagged from side to side, excited at the prospect of meeting someone else interested in plants, she couldn't help but ask, "You came here to look at plants too?" again the edges of her mouth turned upward into a charming smile, though her eyes still held worry for his rotting body. "It's a pleasure to meet you Tavor...and might I say that's a lovely name you have."

He was nervous, but he always was around new people. Her action, and her words, were helping to put his fears at ease ... something which was becoming easier the older he got. Sure he was still wary of every type of card, but he was coming to realize that it was to much work, and rather silly as well, to stay afraid of everyone. It just .... didn't make life all that great. He also didn't want to set that sort of example for his children, he really didn't want them to have the same issues he did.... or, well... any if he could really help that.
Her query about his tail caught him by surprise and he paused for a moment in confusion before peering down at it.... and fully catching her drift. He was used to it, seeing the bones in his tail that was, but he was aware of the fact that it disturbed a number of people. Bones were supposed to remain on the inside after all. He shook his head ever so slightly before turning his gaze back to her.
It's fine .... it's... always been like this.
and then she suddenly seemed to be rather pleased with what he'd said and he couldn't help but shift his tail and touch his own back a little awkwardly. He wasn't entirely sure why he was being so terribly awful at idle chatter today, but the mention of plants seemed to kick his speaking skills back into gear.
Oh yes! Well... honestly I came to see the roses but .... everything else is rather wonderful as well!
And then she went and complimented him, something he'd never gotten used to, and the blush returned.

She watched as he slowly looked down at his tail and she became embarrassed. It didn't even seem as if he noticed it. Should she not have pointed it out? It seemed rude to do so, she could imagine some lowlanders were probably pretty sensitive about their realm's affliction. But it also seemed rude to her not to mention it. After all, she wouldn't want a wounded card to go untreated. "If you are sure...I would hate to see such a wound go infected..." she looked up at him, her eyes pleding for him to be honest with her.
At the mention of roses her ears perked up so violently that her ears might have flown off if they weren't attached to the top of her head. "They have roses here? I love roses!" she blushed, wishing she hadn't shout out the first thing that came to her mind. She didn't want to reveal how much of a novice she was in plant categorying. She just enjoyed looking and growing whatever she could...she didn't nessesarily know what was native to what region or the names of anything. She blushed a deep shade of red.
