Lariel pursed her lips as she considered what Tavor was telling her and looked back down at Cassanova. From what she knew of the pup it wouldn't be hard to believe he'd forget about the injured paw and jump off of the couch again. She wanted to see that leg elevated, but the Card was right. Besides, this was his son. Didn't parents know best?
Lariel sighed, defeated as she looked into the puppy face of the firey youngling on the floor. "Alright. You get to stay on the floor then. But promise me you'll at least try to keep from overusing that paw, okay?"
The Bobcat spared a brief glance for Tavor before continuing.
"And yes, I promise I'll come back," she said, but still made no further movement towards the front door. "Do you get hurt a lot?" Lariel asked, already guessing the answer from the look on his Mother's face.

Kat, would you mind grabbing your brother's pillow for me?
He peered over his shoulder at the young triple-breed, a little smile lingering on his features as he watched the shyest of his children. Well, he hadn't crawled off to hide yet, so that was a good sign... right? He curled his tail up into a little loop of intrigue before glancing back at the bobcat and his most lively child, content to just hang around and make sure nothing bad happened.
Alright....
And with that one simple word the triple breed got up and trotted off down the hall and disappeared into one of the rooms ot hunt down where his brother's pillow had wound up, honestly... the little wolf's room was a disaster area.... it might take him a whole hour just to find the stupid thing!
Well.. not anymore...
The autumn themed pup tried to save a little bit of face with that answer, not that he'd stay embarrassed for long... if he was even embarrassed at all really. It was all his paws' fault, they were big puppy paws and they got in his way far too often ... stupid things.

Lariel watched the triple-breed walk out of the living room and felt a twinge of guilt. The poor thing had had his tail between his legs because of her. She made a mental note to apologize to him once he came back into the room. Looking up at Tavor, Lariel couldn't help but wonder if he thought poorly of her for intimidating one of his children. Well, there was nothing she could do about it now she supposed...
The Bobcat frowned, trying not to smile. "Anymore? Well that's just not true. You got hurt tonight. I'd say that counts as pretty recent."
Lariel looked back up at the Bi-Ped. "How many broken bones has he had?" she asked, feeling the urge to tease the pup. After all, he'd used the PUPPY face on her. Shouldn't she get even?

There was a few odd noises coming from the room that the full lowland child had disappeared into, followed by some partial audible grumbles as he continued his search ... he'd have to try and get his brother to clean up this mess! Although he'd probably end up doing it in the end... that's how it usually worked.
I meant I don't get hurt often anymore... this is the first time in like... a week!
He looked back up at the bobcat with a slight huff as a pout found it's way to his maw, that totally wasn't fair!
Tavor turned his attention to the hall briefly, he hadn't checked Nova's room in awhile and, by the sound of it, he could only guess that they'd be doing some major cleaning in the near future. At least it would keep Brokat occupied for a little while.
He then turned his gaze back to the bobcat when she asked a question and a soft smile graced his muzzle.
Surprisingly enough ... none. I'm a little glad too ... he can be rather... whiny when injured.
He grinned and peered at Nova from the corner of his eyes, teasing the boy as well.
The little canine flipped his ears back, looked away and stuck his nose up in the air. If the adults were going to be mean, he wanted no part of them.

Lariel snorted, "A week? I don't think that's anything to be proud of." She paused to look at Cassanova. "Or is it?" Perhaps she'd underestimated how often this little pup 'used to' hurt himself. She shook her head, wondering how he'd survived this long if he was so accident prone. "How often did you used to hurt yourself?" she asked.
Lariel couldn't hide the chortle that escaped her lips as she tried not to laugh outright. Tavor was certainly being a good sport. At least he didn't seem mad at her and he was willing to play along.
"Somehow, I don't have trouble believe you," she said, peeking a look at the pouting Cassanova. Lariel watched him stick his nose high in the air and smirked. "Well, if you don't want to talk to me anymore I guess that means I should leave, right?" she asked, moving around as if she were preparing to walk away.

He continued to ignore both of them, he wasn't going to be playing along with this little game if they were going to be poking fun at him. Now, if it had been his brother he may have played along until the other boy got offended ... but it just ... wasn't funny now, it was mean. He adjusted his little flame wings and continued to give them both the cold shoulder ... that would teach them!
Tavor couldn't help but laugh softly when Lariel did, this was just too funny. He really didn't get a chance to tease his offspring without feeling bad, but this just had a lighthearted feel to it ... like when he used to tease Isolde. Actually ... she used to act a lot like this ... only she'd usually huff and storm off instead of just giving him the cold shoulder.
For awhile it was just about every day ... he used to set various things around the house on fire as well ... I'm ... rather glad he's growing into those feet of his before he torched the whole house.
Brokat came trotting back down the hall then, a little pillow grasped carefully in his beak-muzzle. He perked his ears curiously when he caught sight of hsi brother ... he'd missed something, hadn't he?
When the bobcat acted like she was going to leave the pup finally relented and turned back toward her, almost forgetting about his paw again as he started to get to his feet, but he remember just in time not to aggravate it anymore.
No!

The irony of a flame-winged canine trying to give her the "cold shoulder" wasn't lost on her, and Lariel nearly laughed again but stopped herself just in time. The Bobcat's mouth soon dropped open however.
"Every day? Good lord, how were you able to stand it? If someone was hurting themselves every single day and setting things on fire I would have locked them in a flame-retardant room for most of their life," Lariel said, pausing to look at Cassanova. "You're lucky you have such an understanding parent." No way would her parents have put up with her if the situation had been hers.
She pushed that melancholy thought aside as the Lowlander came back into the room, a pillow pinned between his beak. There would never be a less awkward time to do this, so... "I'm sorry if I scared you earlier," Lariel said in a rush, still feeling bad but was immediately distracted by the pup.
His little shout of protest warmed her heart for reasons she didn't understand. Instead, she just smiled at him and sat down on her haunches beside him. "Alright, I guess I can stay for a little bit more."

You guys are mean!
And the autumn themed pup used that moment to stick his little red-orange tongue out at the bobcat since she'd done one extra little joke, and flopped his ears down to the sides of his head ... stupid grown ups ... they were almost as bad as Vesper.
When the bobcat addressed him Kat flopped his ears and his head down a bit, blushing under his mud colored fur. No one ... ever apologized to him and he wasn't quite sure what to do or how to take it. He made his way to his mother's side and dropped the pillow on the ground before peering shyly up at the feline. He scooted himself partially behind his mother's legs before he finally spoke softly.
N-no worries.
Tavor couldn't help but laugh and he lifted a hand to cover his mouth so it didn't come off as down right rude to his son who was, obviously, not pleased with the conversation already.
I shoved him out the door to go play in the Capitol when I felt myself losing my patience ... Kat usually goes with him to keep him out of trouble. They're good kids despite that, their sister too.
He curled up his feather tipped tail and whopped the little mix with it affectionately, causing him to give a little squawk of surprised before he started to blush even more.

Lariel watched Cassanova stick out his tongue at them and smiled, knowing it wouldn't hurt the pup to be made fun of a little bit in his life; it kept egos in check. She could tell he was a little upset and reached out to swat him gently on the shoulder to let him know she was joking.
Lariel watched the Lowlander position himself underneath his Mother before attempting to speak to her. Great, had she really scared the little thing that much? He'd said no worries, but she had a sneaking suspicion he wouldn't have had the guts to talk to her if Tavor hadn't been there. Lariel couldn't figure out if the triple-breed was like this with everyone, or if he was just afraid of her. What had she done?
The Bobcat was distracted once more by Tavor and pursed her lips, almost smiling. "So you're who I have to thank for getting this little pup to chase me all through the Capital. I will give it to him though; the boy can run." He had kept up with her all during their run, and she found that impressive.
"A sister?" she querried, looking around. "Is she not around here?"

Brokat was content to stay where he was, finding comfort in the nearness of his mother. Lariel wasn't particularly frightening ... he was simply that shy, something that kept him from forming any real bond with his father.... at least that's what Tavor secretly thought. He found further comfort when his mother decided to curl his feather tipped tail loosely around him and he began to carefully groom said feathers.
Obviously my warnings about strangers have fallen on deaf ears ... although I'm sure a child with wings like his would be hard to kidnap ...
He eyed the pup for a moment before turning his gaze back to the bobcat.
She's out as well, it seems the only home body I really have is Brokat here. I do worry while they're out ... but it's... the best way to learn about the world.
He resisted the urge to sigh as he looked back down at Brokat, it was getting harder and harder for him to not display his pity for the boy ...
Are you sure I can't get you anything besides that glass of water you downed?
Nova went back to ignoring the pair of them until something a little... off about his mother's voice caught his attention. He perked his ears forward and gazed curiously up at the rat-eagle for a moment, but was unable to figure out what was wrong.
