Lariel noticed the Lowlander relax ever so slightly as Tavor's tail wound around him. Maybe it was just random company setting him on edge.
She hadn't actually thought about what could have happened if Casanova had met anyone else besides herself; maybe someone who had interest in children other than....friendship. Even though she didn't know any personally, Lariel knew of the kind of Cards who had more then normal amount of interest in the younger generations. The Bobcat visibly shuddered.
"Actually, I'll take some Vodka if you have it," she said, suddenly feeling the urge for a drink.

He dipped down and picked up the pillow before getting down on one knee and carefully lifting the pup's paw and placed it on the little pillow, elevating the leg before he completely forgot about it .... and removing his tail from around his other son in the process. He flashed the boy a look, trying to warn him in a non-verbal manner that he'd better not move before he got up again and adjusted his wings and turned his attention back to Lariel once more.
Do you take it straight?
Anatolius had introduced him to liquor and he kept it around mostly for when the wolf came for a visit ... although he made sure not to let himself get as intoxicated as he had the night he and Toli had first met ... the wolf made a fun, interesting friend but he really had no intention of making any more accidental children with him ... or, well... sleeping with him again either.
Once he got his answer he moved off to the kitchen to fix himself a little something and get the feline what she wanted as well... and maybe something non-alcoholic for the kids to ... which left the shy lowlander on his own again, but this time he simply peered at the bobcat curiously, although there was still a bit of lingering shyness.
Casanova stretched himself out and yawned, he was getting a little sleepy ... that run had really taken a lot out of him .... but he was rather unwilling to sleep when company was here.

Lariel felt horrible as she realized Tavor was moving to grab the pillow and put it under Casanova's paw. She felt like an idiot for not thinking to do that when the Lowlander brought the pillow in the first place.
"I'll take it mixed with any white soda you have available," she answered to Tavor's retreating form. Lariel didn't move to follow him into what she assumed would be the kitchen and instead moved to sit closer to Casanova, sparing a glance for Brokat.
"Are you doing okay? How does the paw feel?" she asked the pup.

When Lariel moved closer to him his tail started to thump against the ground in a cheerful little rhythm. He really did enjoy making new friends and, since Lariel hadn't run off yet and didn't seem to be going anywhere ... perhaps she would be a friend?
It feels pretty ok to me ... I don't see why I can't, you know ... move around.
He was half tempted to give the paw a little test wiggle ... but the other half, the half that didn't want to revive the pain, won out and he let it go. He did, however, switch his attention over to his brother, a grin spreading over his muzzle.
Come on Kat, don't be so anti-social!
The triple breed flipped his ears forward with interest briefly before pinning them back again. He turned his back on the autumn themed canine and plopped his butt down on the ground.
I'm ... fine.
It didn't take Tavor long before he was returning with another tray, a bubbly mix for the feline, a fruit mixed one for himself and a glass of straight soda for each of the kids, colored with a bit of juice so he wouldn't accidentally give the vodka laced one to one of his children ... he really didn't want to go down that particular road.
I went ahead and put some ice in yours as well ... I hope... that that's alright.

Lariel watched the fiery canine wag his tail in pleasure and smiled. You certainly couldn't keep him down and out for long, and it appeared as though he'd forgotten all about the teasing. All for the better; she preferred the happy Casanova to the pouty one.
"You shouldn't move around because you could hurt it more, then be forced to stay in bed for days," she said, stretching out the last word dramatically and knowing he'd consider it as something awful to endure. "Don't you want it to heal quickly?" she asked.
Lariel was about to invite Brokat over to join them when Tavor walked back in, drinks in hand. "Thank you," she said, taking her drink and motioning to the floor next to her. "Care to sit?"

What she was saying had every aspect of a parental lecture and he couldn't help but roll his eyes, flop his ears down and pout all over again. Why, oh why did adults seem to take pleasure in telling him things he already sort of knew but didn't want to hear about? He bit back to urge to sigh, but he didn't move. He'd be a good boy for the time being.
Tavor set the drinks down in front of their owners and then set the tray on the little coffee table before taking the offered seat although he kept his distance from the feline. He had a glass for himself and a bowl for everyone else, since he was the only one with hands. His feather tipped tail flopped around a bit before he leaned back against the couch.
Sorry if he's been a bother, I know how he can be.
The rat-eagle made a little motion with his hand and Brokat flipped his ears back a bit before flopping down on the floor by his bowl. There was no way he was going to go and sit near a stranger, even if she did seem nice.

Lariel watched Tavor place the bowl of alcohol in front of her and smiled. It was bigger than a regular glass, but that was fine for the thirsty feline. Her smile faltered when she noticed both Mother and child shied away from her presence however. She didn't know these people, and they didn't know her, so it shouldn't matter. That's what she told herself as she lowered her muzzle to lap gently at the mixed drink in front of her. At least the firey cub didn't seem to mind her being so close and the heat from his fire warmed her outsides as the alcohol warmed her from the inside.
Making a satisfied sound, Lariel licked her maw of any remaining drops of vodka as they clung to her fur. "Ah, thank you. That's hitting the spot." What the Bobcat wanted to do more than anything at the moment was to lie down on the floor and lazily lap at the alcohol from the bowl in front of her, but something told her it was possible the Bi-Ped wouldn't appreciate her teaching the kids her kind of manners.
"Well, I will admit it was ...different to have someone chasing after me through the Capitol streets. I couldn't shake him for anything, though I certainly tried. Then he hurt his paw and I really didn't have a choice but to bring him home. I couldn't just leave him there." She said, turning her head sideways to look at Casanova. A small smile reappeared on her lips. Though she wouldn't tell the pup, he'd actually brightened up her day.

Neither Brokat nor Tavor were really good with this whole... social thing and that was part of why Casanova's utter ease in speaking to every stranger that made eye contact with him disturbed them both greatly. Tavor was trying rather hard to get better, realizing that, when you're in your thirties, being painfully shy just... wasn't very useful. Having children made this point even clearer ... so he tried. That, of course, didn't mean it really worked, but at least he was putting in the effort. It was just hard to drop a habit that you'd gotten as a child.
Brokat, on the other hand, had been born this way and Tavor had known since the day he dragged Anatolius to meet them, well.... the canine had come willingly he just... still felt awful about ruining the good thing the other man had going for him with his news. It was .... really difficult to get someone out in the world and make friends when the world just... didn't want them there and was more likely to kick and taunt then offer a kind word or even a smile.
Suits, between the three of them it was no wonder why his muzzle was already starting to be peppered with little gray hairs.
Something about her story caught his attention and he arched a brow, giving her a look that was almost one of horror, but not quite.
He chased you?! I'm so sorry...
He felt the need to apologize for his son's actions even though she didn't seem to put off by them. But, really... you just didn't chase strangers in the Capitol. Suits, where had that boy's common sense gone to?
Brokat wiggled his way up to his bowl and then placed his paws to the side of it, resting his head atop them so that he could peer around the bowl at their guest. He was aware of the fact that the bowl was far him to hide behind... but at least it was something.
Nova took a completely different course and attacked his water with a vengeance, running around the city and chasing people was thirty work! He managed to get it pretty much all over his face, on the floor, on his pillow... everywhere except in the bowl. Well, except for a little bit that chose to linger. He wagged his tail a little more and shifted his gaze over to the other three people in the room, mouth open, tongue lolling out and the corners of his muzzle curled up in a 'smile' as water dripped off his face. Oh yes, he looked absolutely ridiculous.... and had no idea that he did.

Lariel watched the surprised, almost aghast look spread over Tavor's face when she mentioned the chase earlier in the day. The feline spared a quick glance towards Cassanova before dipping her eyes and muzzle back down to her drink. She sure hoped the young pup didn't get in trouble because of her.
One eyebrow raised as she considered the thought that had just passed through her mind. Her get him in trouble? She nearly spit out the liquid at the absurdness of it all. It served the flaming pup right if he did get in trouble. You should chase strange Cards through the streets. That's how you wind up dead, and leave your next of kin identifying the body.
Lariel scowled and looked up at Tavor. "Well, maybe it's best if he knows the true dangers of running around the streets like that." She turned her head to give the scowl to who it belonged to and nearly lost her composure. With the water droplets coating his entire face, Cassanova looked a fool... which suited him of course.
"Doesn't water scare you? I mean, because of your fiery wings and all..."

Tavor wasn't exactly the 'punishing' type of parent. He could give them all the love and support they'd ever need, but when it came to discipline he fell rather short ... the worst he'd ever been able to do was send them to their room or push them out the door if they got in trouble. So ... not much of a punishment. He'd have to think of something.... maybe he should contact Anatolius ... see if the canine had any ideas on the matter. Really, the boy needed to know that following around strangers wasn't a good idea, it just... sounded a little hypocritical to him since, well... that's pretty much how he met Toli to begin with. He lifted up a hand and felt around on his necklace for the exact tooth he needed, one of the ones up front, and placed his thumb and pointer around it. He activated his basic communication power and his eyes went into an unfocused blankness as he sent his request out to the Morganberry, asking him to drop by later that night if he could for a discussion.
The triple-breed bit back a sigh as he watched his brother, grinding the two beak parts of his muzzle together and making an odd half grinding, half clicking sound. Sometimes he wondered if he was adopted or something ... his siblings, Nova especially, just didn't seem like they were really related to him at all. Nova... was an idiot, personable but ... marshmallows for brains and then Vesper ... she was just a little too aggressive. It made the stranger seem ... not so bad. Little, rounded rat ears perked as he turned his gaze back to the bobcat, more curious then shy this time around.
The canine tilted his head to the side when the feline cast that scowl in his direction. Now what was that for? She couldn't possibly be scowling at him for drinking water, could she? Oh, but she was mentioning his wings! Er... asking him a question .. .yes, that's what she was actually doing. He turned his head to regard one of his flame wings and wiggled it a bit in contemplation. Water wasn't scary ....
He turned his attention back to the feline and shook his head, that tail of his thumping lightly against the floor once again.
Nope, not at all! It does make weird, kinda cool noises when it gets close to them though. But... water isn't scary ....
