“You do not have to tell me that. I do not quite know how I end up in these situations . . . and I definitely do not know wot I would do if it were not for you. I definitely owe you a lot.” He responded to his friend, giving a long sigh. Sometimes he just wanted the world to leave him alone for a little while. Things just seemed to compound on him, one thing and then the other.
He gave a nod, responding, “I will let her know as soon as I can.” He was not sure if he could do it as soon as Whip asked but he would do it as soon as he could.
He looked away from the table and his friend, taking in the view of the people walking down the street with carefree steps. “I do not know. At this point I hate that it is growing inside of me. That a part of him is there. I can not just kill it though; I could never find that as an option, so I guess I will have to find a way to have it.” He cringed even as he said the words.

"Good," the stallion said shortly. "If you had tried to abort, I would have knocked you unconscious then tied you up until you had it. Someone else would surely have taken over your Court by then. As is, it's your responsibility for getting pregnant; it's not the baby's fault that you managed to get knocked up by a psycho. Which, by the way, I find exceedingly interesting if not more than a little disconcerting."
That talking was thirsty work and the stallion took a long sip from the mug. Ah, that reminded him... "Speaking of responsibilities... No alcohol, no coffee or tea until after this kiddo is born. Tell An quickly, because I'm going by tomorrow afternoon to go over the do's and don't's for you."
He tapped his fingers thoughtfully against the glass again. "Where are you going to actually have it? Surely you don't want your Court to know your pregnant..." The Court of Clubs had a bit too much excitement lately.

He would not put it past his friend to do just that.
At his friend’s words about what he could not drink he sputtered in reply. “You are kidding right? You would not dare!” He narrowed his eyes at his friend.
He glared at his friend for a long moment, coming to the conclusion that he knew was already true before he had asked. Whip would do what he dared and he would probably do it with pride. Some times he wondered why he put up with the horse’s antiques . . . and then he realized that it was because of a situation like this – not to mention because they were real friends.
“And that is where the problem arises. I do not want the rest of the Court knowing about this, especially considering who the father probably is. However, still being new to the throne it is hard for me to just leave. Even if I did leave where would I go? The Capital would just be too close to Minh and I will not go back to Morganberry to have the kid.”
He was trying his hardest to not freak out. Water did not help his nerves like a mug of beer would. He gave his old mug, which Rai now held hostage, a mournful look.

Shinrai pinned his ears back, giving himself a devilish look that no amount of innocence could leaven. Still, the mouse had valid concerns. If their positions were reversed, even now, Rai wouldn't have wanted the Courts to know about him being pregnant. Of course, it would take quite a bit of work to get him pregnant...
How could they keep this secret? Rai gave a low groan. "You get yourself into trouble and THEN you make it even more difficult!" He wanted to beat his head against the wall, or even against the table again. Why, oh -why- did Aderlass have to make things so hard?
"Okay, tomorrow, I'm sending my tailor to you. Tell people that you have to... I do't know, look the part or something. If you start wearing baggy clothes now, perhaps when you start showing--" And wasn't -that- one of the creepiest thoughts in the world.-- then nobody will notice because they'll already be used to seeing you as such."
Rai took another sip, oblivious to Aderlass' covetous glances. "If I had my say, we'd just hid you out int he Marsh until it was born." He felt that sentence ding through his mind even as he knew it wasn't actually an option. Aderlass couldn't be absent that long.

“It is not as if I wanted this, this, this thing!” He almost shouted back at Whip, not so much out of anger or frustration at his friend but at himself. “I would do almost anything to make this thing go away.” He was a little shocked by his sudden outburst and the angry emotions that seemed to stir inside of him.
He sat back in his chair quiet for a long moment, thinking about what he had just said. He had honestly meant every word. When he had first figured out he had ranted and raved to Pascha about the situation at hand but that had just been out of annoyance, inconvenience, and frustration. This had been something different . . . this had been truth.
He continued to sit quietly as he gathered up his thoughts, trying to bring his mind away from his discovery. “I had thought about hiding out but I can not abandon my court like that, there is just no way. And I appreciate you offering your tailor, I will take in that consideration and see what can be done.” He responded in a soft tone.

Rai's expression softened at Aderlass' outburst, but he didn't dare say soemthing pitying. So he sent the mouse a brief sidelong glance, a hardness entering his gaze. "You won't be getting rid of this child except through normal childbirth," and there was a thread of warning in the other man's voice. He'd already made his warning about abortion and Aderlass was too smart to not understand jsut how serous the stallion was on the subject. "In any case," he continued on in a lighter vein. "Worse things could have happened. You could be having An's baby."
He sent his friend another long glance, but there was something else in the grey-green eyes. "I admire your dedication to your Court," the man said quietly, giving a small smile to show the truth of the statement. "You're going to be a great Queen."

At his friend’s joking comment about the child being that of Her Highness Anoushka he gave a mock shiver. “I would not touch that female in any manner but friendly. Not to mention she has a vast distaste for anything vermin or avian. So maybe you should watch yourself when you come visit.” He doubted that the horse would be hit on by the King, especially since he had the oddest feeling that Anoushka thought they were more then friends.
He was silent for a moment as he took in his friend’s words. It meant a great deal to him that his friend thought he would do well in his new role as Queen. Sometimes he wondered, though he would not let it be otherwise without a good hard fight. He also caught the hint of the fact his friend would step in if he threaten the child’s life. though his friend had nothing to worry about. He would not be aborting the child, though what would happen to it once it entered the world was another thing.
“Any ideas of how I can deliver this thing without anyone becoming the wiser?” He asked, still looking off to the side.

"Hardy har har," Rai replied to the Morganberry's teasing, but he was relieved to hear it more than anything. Teasing meant that Aderlass was beginning to feel more like himself, and that's wot Rai really wanted to accomplish. "She looks at me strangely; I don't think it's any sort of attraction." Actually, that was a little puzzling, though Shinrai had no desire to find out why the King of Clubs had no interest in him as a partner; he certainly had no interest in her.
Rai hrmed lightly at Aderlass' question, and he tapped his fingers on his glass as he thought. "You can't have it here; there won't be anyway to keep that secret..." The man stared off into his beer for a long moment. "I think you're going to have to leave the Capital, at least for the last couple of months," he finally stated quietly. "I don't know any other way to keep this secret."

He agreed with his friend that he could not have the child here. Everyone was sure to know that he had been made pregnant and if he did not keep the child then it would look even worse. No he could not stay here for the whole of it. Only so many people could be kept silent.
“I will not go back to Morganberry . . . and we will need somewhere close, from experiences with Minh and Mnem chances are high that I will not be up for a long journey . . . and I can not afford to be away from the Court too long.” he spoke, thinking more aloud than he was to his friend.
“Any suggestions?” He asked turning to face his friend for the first time since looking away. Most of his initial hysteria was gone now that Whip was allowing him to look at things more logically. Going through the places in his head that were close to the location of the Club Court he came across one that seemed likely. “Wot about Josiggy Marsh?” He was sure Whip had mentioned it a time or two in the time they had known each other.
