((OOC: This thread does not start off in the Marsh but will end up there for most of it xD;)) Oh $#!%, he was pregnant. He could scarcely believe it. How had? . . . When?. Dread filled him as a solid weight as he realized the chances of just who’s child could now be growing inside him. He had to get out. He could not go to Minh, even if there was a chance that it was her’s. Even if it was her’s there was no way that he could spend the next nine months at court. He had to get away. Pacing his suite he tried to quickly figure out where to run to. Whip. The name flashed through is mind. Yes Whip. Whip was a dear friend and would know just what the mouse should do in his current predicament. Of course the horse was likely to get a lot of laughs out of it as well. But that was something that would be worth it. Quickly latching onto the idea he settled down at his desk to write his friend a note to request a moment of their time, he would leave it to his friend to pick the place, he just needed it as soon as possible.

"Sir." A soft voice interrupted his thoughts by its sheer presence and the stallion snapped angrily in reply. "Wot now, Samid? In case you haven't noticed, I'm in the middle of something!" Grey-green eyes stared hard and flat at the ram, but the Morganberry man simply extended the envelope with a calm expression. "A letter, Your Majesty." There wasn't -precisely- the sound of reproof in the cloven-hooved man's voice, but there was definitely something. "Shut up," the Queen replied, his own tone easing slightly in response. He accepted the letter curiously, glancing at the seal and hiding his surprise. Aderlass didn't usually bother to follow such channels as these, so that lent this a sense of urgency the Heart had never seen from the mouse. He quickly slipped out the letter and skimmed the contents. Time? Aderlass wanted time? Further surprising and definitely an undertone of secrecy. He thoughtfully picked up a pen then swiftly sent back a response. A small, little known cafe between Aderlass' shoppe and his suite in the City could offer them a good place to meet that was a huge step from where either of them usually frequented. It was unlikely anyone could find the two Queens for their little meeting.

He made his way through the familiar streets of the Capital towards the meeting place that Whip had arranged for them. He was still new enough to being the Queen for him not to be worried about being spotted by anyone he did not know. Though as a percaution he had a cloak wrapped around him to hide his rank. After receiving the reply from Whip he had requested the day of their meeting off. He was really grateful that his friend had been able to take time away from his busy schedule.
Having woken and soon after finding his stomach protesting the new parasite, he was realizing that he really was not looking forward to the months to come, at all. He had been away for most of Minh’s pregnancy with Elyse and Hadyn. With that realization he had left earlier then he had first planned too. He really needed to get away from the Capital and the Court.
Finding that he had arrived at the destination he asked the waitress for a table for two, ready to wait for his friend to arrive. After having been seated he asked for a glass of water and for when Whip arrived for him to be shown to the table. After the waitress had wondered off he took a deep breath to calm his nerves.

The stallion switched to bipedal form, wrapping himself closely in his cloak and grabbing a satchel to stuff the rest of his paperwork in. He'd still have quite a few things to finish tonight to be ready for his meeting in the morning with the Queen of Hearts. He jammed his hat onto his head and quickly headed out of the door as Samid waved an amused good-bye to the new Queen in the Court of Hearts.
Mind full of wot was ahead, the equine didn't see it and continued on his way, plotting as he walked swiftly back into the City. If this meeting with Aderlas was going to be like any of their previous meetings, than he would have to sleep in his suite that night and then book it in the morning to meet with his ruler. No stress, no stress, no stress.
The stallion moved easily into the cafe, waving off the hostess with his innate, authorative nature that had come with his last rank increase. He moved to his friend's table and wondered at the wide-eyed look in the mouse's eyes. Wot in the world had happened today?
"Greetings, Aderlass," the stallion said soothingly. Oddly or not, Rai's mind flashed back to the time he'd forced the Morganberry from the bar.

The mouse looked up at his friend with a start. His mind had been wondering over various worries and thoughts and so his friend’s approach had caught him off guard. Shuffling himself in his seat with unease, trying to find a more comfortable position, he returned his friend’s greeting. “Greetings, Whip.”
His mind was a nervous wreck. “I am really glad that you could spare a moment of your time. I know you are busy with . . . well with everything. I . . . I need your help” He said stumbling and hesitating over his words. From their having been friends for such a long time Whip was bound to know that something was bothering the mouse.
He might as well get on with the subject of why he had called his friend away from his important duties. He already owed his friend a lot from the previous savings, the bar incident after his returning home from Morganberry came to mind, and he was hoping his friend would be able to save him once again. He was willing to be in as much debt to his friend that was or was not safe, as long as something was done to save the current predicament.

The other man lofted a brow at the mouse's terrible preoccupation. He had a bad feeling that this, like many of the mouse's problems, would require a lot of alcohol to make palatable. "It's good to see you, too, Aderlass," Rai said wryly. "Let me order some drinks, huh?" Because it's pretty obvious we're going to need them, he didn't say out loud.
He signalled the waitress for two mugs of beer before sitting down next to the other man and turning his full attention to his friend. He didn't let his worry and concern show in his grey-green eyes, but it was definitely in there. Now, of course, the question was 'wot trouble had Aderlass gotten himself into now?' The mouse found more issues than almost anyone else the stallion had ever known. Except, perhaps, for a certain sparrow.

He started to protest when his friend offered to buy them drinks but could not pull his mind on the topic soon enough. Giving a defeated sigh when the horse ordered their drinks he just eyed it with longing. He really, really wanted to drink the booze . . . but once Whip found out he was likely to threaten him.
Taking a sip from his water he cleared his throat hesitantly. “It seems . . . . it seems that I have gotten myself in a . . . awkward situation. Remember,” he coughed trying to hide a blush, “how I told you about how I became titled as King? Well . . . um . . . that demand was not just a one time thing. I am pregnant.” The last part was barely mumbled past his lips so the horse may or may not have heard his words.

Rai nearly choked on his beer, fighting to not spew it back into his mug. He hadn't actually heard the last two words, but with an introduction like that there was only one conclusion. Oh, gads... blast it all.
He narrowed grey-green eyes and stared at his friend for a long moment before deliberately reaching across the table for the other glass. He closed his fingers around it and slowly and pointedly pulled it back to his side of the table. Suddenly, he tossed back his entire mug of beer, letting it slide soothingly down his throat in a number of deep swallows. He set the glass down with a thump then grabbed Aderlass' and rotated the mug in front of him a few times as he contemplated the golden foamy liquid.
"He needed a penectomy," he said flatly. "You should have removed it the first time. Cut if off. Burned it off. Something."

“I should have. And just how tempting that action was you will never know. The only thing that stopped me was that if the . . . Bull survived I would not have.” And then were would be all his plans? Seven feet underground.
He was still pissed about what he had had to do to gain and keep the title of King. He will admit that he had taken his pleasure in the Queen’s requests but only for the factor that if he had not he probably would not have been able to handle it mentally. But that was neither here nor there now. The old Queen was dead and he was in his place . . . currently pregnant . . . with his child by all the math accounts.
“So I was . . . hoping you would not mind helping me out. The only other person who knows about this is Pascha, and I plan on keeping it to only as many as it needs to be. Her Highness Anoushka will be bound to find out the truth soon, though.” He was hard to hide something from her since they worked so close together day after day.

Green ears flattened briefly, because that was at least partially true. Rai sighed. Court politics would be easier if you could just gang up on the crazies. But that wouldn't work and everyone knew that. He gave a larger, deeper sigh. "You really pick them, Aderlass. You're just... You really pick them."
He leaned back in his chair, bring the front to legs up off of the ground, to stare up at the ceiling for a long moment. He let it drop again with a pop then sent his friend a sidelong glance. "Tell An," he counseled, inwardly amused that he was telling the man to tell the very woman he once hated so much. "Tell her tonight or first thing in the morning, but tell her quickly. You're going to need her help too."
Of -course- he was going to help his friend, so it didn't occur to him to actually answer his friend's question. There'd never been a moment that he even contemplated not aiding his friend.
He sent his friend a serious look, "Wot do you want to do?"
