Kelasia bit her lip again uneasily, watching the man with her concern and worry blatant in her gaze. She wasn't entirely certain wot the best course of action was for this situation. He was already stressed, true; but the stress of business might help him get away from his life stress for awhile. Still, she wanted the Selkie Lakes man to know that she and Rogers could handle the things here and support him here even though they couldn't support him at the Courts. Someday.... someday... No, better to concentrate on the present.
"Perhaps we should go to dinner?" she suggested instead. "Then we can both take some time to relax before looking at anything potentially stressful. Does... does that make sense?" She flushed slightly and peered up at the man through her silvered forelock. She hoped he'd agree; it would definitely be good for both of them.

"It's a bit early for dinner though," The sparrow said. "And I understand what you mean. I've just never been good at the whole relaxing thing." He shook his head with dismay. His friends and coworkers had always made fun of him for being so work orientated. He was going to die from a panic attack one day.
"Though I suppose it wouldn't be a travesty if we went for dinner a bit early," Theofilus smiled. It was weak, but it was good enough to pass as a smile that wasn't completely false. He supposed an excuse to get out of the firm was a good idea. From what Rogers said Kelasia didn't get out very often besides the few crazy errands and shopping that she was sent to do. Taking her out to an uninterrupted dinner would be a good way of getting his mind of things.

"Really," the woman said quietly and softly. "It couldn't be a travesty because only we should care about our dinner plans." She almost sounded confident about this. Almost. "I'll go grab my things," the skunk said suddenly and rather hopefully. Perhaps if she pushed about it, they could just go and be calm and relaxed for awhile.
She didn't rush from the room, but she also didn't dawdle, moving with an efficient grace not entirely normal for her. As she headed up the stairs she was rather sad that Rogers couldn't join them. Despite her excitement to finally have a dinner with Theofilus (all to herself!!), the German Shepherd was excellent at calming both of them down as well as smoothing the waters.
Once upstairs, she nabbed a shawl and a small handpurse. She paused to glance in a mirror, pursing her lips at the image reflected back at her. There was no way Theofilus could ever find her attractive, but... With a sudden, determined stride, she turned her back on the reflection and darted back downstairs. She was going to think about it. She was just going to try.

Theofilus blinked out of surprise. That was an unusual note of confidence for Kelasia. The sparrow watched her depart thoughtfully. Alone with Kelasia at dinner? How long had it been since they had a meal alone together alone?
He sighed as he walked back to the front room. The sparrow looked around for the brief case that he had left here not too long ago. He was notably surprised when Rogers handed it to him with just a smile. Sometimes the sparrow felt out of the loop when Rogers had that look on his face. It was like he was plotting something.
Theofilus tapped his nails on the brief case as he awaited the return of Kelasia. Why was he so nervous about dinner all of a sudden? It was just like all the other times they had had dinner together except there was one less person involved. He shook his head dismissively and looked over the contents of case. There were a few things inside of it that me might go over during dinner.Work, he never really escaped it.

Unaware of Theofilus' thoughts, the woman quickly came down the stairs, hesitating only slightly when she came to the door and cleared her throat to get the man's attention. She gave him a small, gentle smile, trying to infuse confidence through her desire to just hide away. But this was important to the woman and she was going to make it work.
"Is there anything we can bring you, Rogers?" the skunk asked lightly, hoping to help make him feel involved, even though he wouldn't be able to join them on their date. She glanced-- once-- swiftly at the Selkie Lakes sparrow hoping that he wouldn't be upset or offended by the offer to the German Shepherd.
The canine was very important to her, especially since he was working so hard to make her more confident. It might be odd if one just thought about the fact that they were 'only' coworkers.

"Just bring me something with strawberries in it," Rogers said cheerfully before wandering back to his desk. He still had quite a bit of paper work to do, and he should probably feed Marty.
Theofilus wasn't the least bit offended by such a thing. He understood that Rogers was part of the family as well. It was extremely thoughtful of Kelasia to do something like that. It had completely slipped the sparrow's mind. He gave her a smile as he moved towards the door, "Now that that's settled we can head off, Good luck with the paperwork Rogers, sorry to leave you hanging like this."
"Psh. You need more breaks than me anyway. You have two jobs, Boss," Rogers snorted as he sprinkled some fish food in the bowl on his desk. "Off with the pair of you, eat enough food for the three of us."
Theofilus opened the door for Kelasia. "Ladies first."

Kelasia couldn't stop the small smile at Rogers' request. Her ears flicked slightly as she made a mental note about the dessert for her coworker. He really was a cheerful joy to have around. As Theofilus opened the door for her, Kel gave him a blushing smile as well, bobbing a small thanks with her head. She turned as she walked out of the door to wave good-bye to Rogers, thankful that the German Shepherd was willing to give them this time together.
As she stepped out into the evening night air, Kel pulled her shawl slightly around her shoulders, glancing around the mostly empty streets, trying to stop the thrill of excitement that raced through her again. She was, however, and had to work carefully to keep her facial features arranged, though pale blue eyes were nearly sparking anyway.
"Where would you like to go?" she asked softly as the sparrow came outside as well.

Theofilus felt refreshed when the cool air hit him and he closed the door behind him. He took a deep breath before even thinking about her statement. "I imagine one of the local cafes should be good. The other places I can think of would need reservations."
He wasn't quite sure what else to say. He could actually pick some place, but he wasn't in the mood to make decisions. After all of that he still had so much work to do and things to face, he didn't want to make any more decisions today. Going to bed actually seemed like a fantastic idea, but he had to get through dinner first. It wouldn't be a nightmare, since he had someone to talk to and avoid the real problems of the day with.
There was something terribly unhealthy about those thoughts, but he shrugged them off. "Feel free to choose your favorite place."

Theofilus seemed rather reluctant and the skunk had to square her shoulders slightly to give herself some more courage. He didn't act like he really wanted to be out with her. She tried to pass it off to tiredness.
"Uhm... There's a little place that Minh and I went to," the Sorgaire Range woman offered gently. "They have very good sandwiches and soups. Would you like to go there?"
She really hoped that this selection was all right since she didn't have anywhere else to suggest. She didn't eat out a whole lot. Pretty much the only times she did was with Theofilus, which happened exceedingly rarely, especially now that he was in the Courts, and with Minh or Mnem and that was always just an accidental get together. She didn't make plans to leave the office, it only happened when she was forced.
