"That sounds wonderful," Theofilus said with a smile. He really hoped he wasn't coming of as depressed or anything. Stuffing down the feelings was a bit difficult with so much on his mind. However, if he would be dragging down the evening he might as well stuff it down. Being a drag was never fun.
"I've heard you mention her name before, and... Mnem is it? Who exactly are they?" He had heard their names in passing once or twice. Never what they did or who they were, or how Kelasia had ever met them. She was a shy girl, and he couldn't imagine she went out of her way to find random strangers to make friends with on the street. That and he was curious. A change of subject was in order so why not hear a little bit about Kelasia's friends that he had never met?

"Oh! Ah. They're.... friends." The word was said hesitantly but with a distinct glow. She had -friends-. Odd friends, but friends. "We... met at the library..." Along with that strange rat, though she had a feeling Theofilus would be displeased about meeting the woman meeting him. There was something very.... off-putting about Osiais.
Also, pointing out that they met in a library would hopefully offset some of Theo's nervousness should he ever meet them and learn wot the pair were -really- like. Still, Kelasia pushed dutifully on, too pleased to even have friends-- albeit ones she only saw very rarely-- to not get a chance to speak about them.
"Mnem studies plants and Minh studies genetics." That made them sound like a pair of Covistowneians, but the woman didn't think of it and so did not mention Mnem's actual region. "They are very nice." A slight hitch to her voice suggested that she was afraid Theofilus might not approve of the two women, even based off of Kel's description.

"I can't imagine you would get along with people who weren't nice," Theofilus said with a slight chuckle. He couldn't imagine Kelasia would subject herself to horrible company. Then again he didn't really know much about Kelasia's personal life beyond the fact that she was shy.
That wasn't a very good thing was it. "They sound interesting. Maybe I could meet them sometime if you don't mind?" He had to wonder what the women were like. A botanist and someone who studied genetics? They both must have been quite intelligent then. Probably from Corvistowne, but then again regions weren't all that important.
He wondered how long it would take for them to get to the sandwich shop. He hadn't any idea what the name was, or where it was. He was simply following the skunk to where ever she decided to lead him.

Kel's rounded ears flicked forward and back in pleasure as the man sounded like he approved of her choices. Still, meeting them... Light, she only hoped that once that day came, he'd still approve!
"I'll see if something can be arranged," she said shyly. "But I'm afraid they both stay very busy with their work as well." It wasn't any sort of attacking shot on Theofilus' busy schedule, merely her pointing out a fact.
The little shop really was only a few blocks from the shipping firm's office and Kelasia gestured towards it shyly, glancing swiftly up to the man to be certain he still approved. "We could go somewhere else if this doesn't meet with your expectations," she also offered lightly; she didn't really care where they ate so long as she was with him.

"Such is life," Theofilus said with a smile. He knew all about being busy and trying to balance it out with his social life. He needed to see his family more often if he was going to feel better about everything that was weighing him down. At least Eilwyn was going to be safe.
"This is perfect, it seems to be a nice quiet place," He hugged her with one arm. It just seemed like the thing he should do when he was tired, depressed and trying his hardest to fight the migraine that was once again sneaking up on him. Honestly he shouldn't be putting himself though this much stress. It was unhealthy and he couldn't control certain matters. Why was he so worried then?
He chocked back a worried sigh as he let go of Kelasia and gave her another reassuring smile. She could pick the seats and all of that.

When Theofilus hugged her, her heart stuttered once and she wanted to throw her arms around him and just make all of the bad stuff go away. He looked so down-trodden and depressed. But he quickly pulled away again and she forced herself to not sigh at the bereft feeling left in his wake.
There was an awkward few minutes of the man and woman just standing there on the sidewalk, neither making a move into the cafe. Kel didn't realize that he was ready to go and he wasn't putting forth effort on their 'date' just then, so it wasn't until a raccoon female came out with a pair of menus and a wide smile that the skunk realized wot they had been waiting for.
She flushed darkly as the woman offered to fix them to-go platters if they desired, but they had plenty of lovely booths opened, if that was preferred.
"Anywhere is fine," Kel muttered softly, head ducked to try and hide her desperate embarrassment.

Theofilus nodded at the waitress. "Yes, any seat is fine. Thank you very much." The sparrow smiled as best her could. The raccoon woman ushered them to a corner booth overlooking the almost barren street.
In all honesty the sparrow was at a loss for words. He stared at the menu, watching the woman leave in the corner of his eye. For some reason he wasn't hungry anymore. He had to eat though, he didn't want to but he wasn't going to let Kelasia know about his loss of appetite.
The waitress returned in record time, the pair of them gave her their order. She happily went off to retrieve it. Well this was turning out to be an entirely awkward evening. Throughly annoyed with himself the sparrow looked across the table from him.
"I'm sorry I'm so miserable right now. I suppose everything will get better with time, but until then I suppose I'll be bit of an emotional air head. Forgive me."
((OOC: So.... I can't keep this thread up anymore. Shall we wrap it up really soon? ))

"Oh, no, don't worry about it," Kel gave him a small smile, though her own worry was still eating at the edge of it. "I know you have a lot on your mind right now." And that was more than a little true. Wading through the politics of the Court, still juggling his shipping firm, and the craziness of his family even as he tried to deal with his own issues from the quest to go to the Lowlands, it was no wonder that he was a bit distracted. She wanted to help; she was determined to help! However, she was sadly ill-equipped to deal with emotional baggage; hers was often too heavy for her to carry alone. She would have to keep on as she had been; trying to take as much of the business matters off of his hands as she possibly could.
She could try to make this evening special for him, especially after the stress from earlier. . . her mind shied away from the memory of the stallion in the store. "How are the other children doing?" Normally, speaking about his kids would cheer Theofilus up; he loved his family. That was one of his wonderful traits.
The evening progressed slowly and as it became apparent that they were both distracted, it drew swiftly to a close. Kel returned home with the vague feeling that everything had gone wrong. She curled up in her bed and bit her lip as she thought. She had to figure out how to help Theo. She had to.
