The mouse walked down the streets looking from window to window. He needed a job, and he wasn't particularly picky. He would work hard no matter the job. However he did wish to work as a body guard. He didn't want to show up at courts untrained though. That would be terrible. Ichigo sighed as he watched people pass him by. No one in this busy city took notice to him. It almost made him wish he could go back home. He shook the idea off. No. He had decided the moment he left the Mid-Range that when he returned he would be part of the courts. It didn't matter what his rank was, he would be a bodyguard to someone regardless. That was his goal, and there was no returning home until he had accomplished it. He didn't want to bring shame to his family. No. That wouldn't do at all.

(My apologies for not posting a picture, this computer won't let me save .png files and my laptop's power cord broke, so I'm using it as sparsely as possible... I am playing my new character from the Raemblen Bog <3)
Heilyn disliked the city.
Period.
The end.
Too many people. On top of that, they all gave her funny looks. The Bog dwellers had only very recently started making their presence known again, so many of the people from other realms had never seen one before.
She skulked through the city streets, a bag of materials and tools carefully strapped to her back (as to not upset the air tanks. They were crucial, after all!). She was going to start the climb up politics by making the Raemblers accepted by the masses. She had a storage space in which she had been keeping masterful glasswares to sell, she'd bought an old abandoned shop, and was now looking to fix it up and start selling.
People moved out of her way as she passed though. When this first happened, she figured they were being polite. She knew better now. They were creeped the hell out. Not to mention that no matter how many times she'd bathed and even payed a professional groomer, the lingering scent of the Bog frightened the outsiders.
This didn't mean that the sniveling masses of the other realms didn't fascinate her. She stopped for a moment to look over the brilliant colors and patterns. She felt a tinge of guilt as she admired their useless, but beautiful coats.
A gray mouse caught her attention. She watched him looking in windows. Why am I intrigued? she wondered and began stalking him.

Mephitisia was in a sour mood. This was nothing new, honestly, but today in particular seemed to be worse than others. She had woken up on the wrong side of the bed, so to speak, and her thoughts turned again and again to darker things which only left her brooding deeply in the end. She strummed her fingers over her side, basking in the sensation of being free. No longer did her hooves hold her back, no longer...did she feel as if something were missing. No, not this time. Life was slowly falling back into place. Good, good. All she needed now was the leverage to continue her quest to the very top... Or a subject to experiment on, she was quite lacking in those. Lost in these brooding thoughts, it would be no surprise to anyone when she very nearly stumbled into the dull gray mouse that had been lingering about in search of work. Her lip arched in a snarl, eyes flashing even though he was no in the wrong. "Watch where you're going." The Biped deer huffed, frustrated to be pulled from her thoughts, only to begin taking in detail of his strange coat and appearance. Hmm, perhaps this day wasn't going to be so bad after all! Foreigners always made the best guinea pigs.

Ichigo stopped in his tracks at the sudden smell in the wind. What the hell was that? He glance behind him noticing the one person to stand out among the crowd. Were they looking at him or was it just his imagination.
He had no time to ponder over it. Suddenly he was nearly trampled by a biped deer. He choked back a squeak as he shook his head with surprise. "I apologize, young lady! I should watch where I'm going when I'm in the busy streets." He bowed to her as an apology, showing his respect. He was surprised to see fangs on a deer, and those brightly colored eyes, but he made no movements to show his curiosity. It would be horribly rude.
So would glancing back behind him, but he did that anyway. That strange person was still behind him, watching.
"You seem to be troubled Miss, is there anything I can do to help you?"

Heilyn watched with interest at the actions that had just unfolded before her. She had to watch herself here. Back in the Bogs, the mask weren't required. Outside she had to wear it, and that makes it much harder to fight, should something break out. She eyed the deer, who was obviously just looking for a fight. She eyed the other woman's fangs. Yes. Heilyn had to be very careful.
Her large coyote ears perked slightly at being spoken to directly, revealing her bright yellow ear hair. What a strange creature, indeed. <3
"Maybe." was all her answer was to the mouse. It was a true statement, but annoyingly ambiguous. Troubled? That was a new one. 'TroublING' was a statement often directed to her, but not troublED.
She kept an eye on the deer. The mouse was not the one who was a threat. If I can get around them, I can avoid... wait, he offered to help. She turned back to the mouse.
"Why yes you can help me, as a matter of fact."

Ichigo nearly jumped out of his skin when the person behind him actually replied. What mess had he gotten himself into? He was now surrounded with no escape route.
"I should have said Misses, shouldn't I have? I apologize to both of you for my rudeness. Please forgive me," He said with a little bow to both of them this time. He wanted to get out of this situation without having to bleed himself for shaming his family.
He could feel the tension in the air. The coyote seemed to be bothered by the deer. Fangs and eyes like that he could understand. They were obviously both rather angry at the world. This could easily be solved. He just hoped it worked.
"I am more than willing to help both of you, however, I think it would be best if we both erm... choose a better place to speak? I don't think I want to run into anyone else today." He gave a small nod to the deer and then the coyote. "My name is Ichigo. It's a pleasure to meet you both."

The deer doesn't need your help, unless you're a therapist. Heilyn thought, keeping her commentary to herself. An ear twitched. This mouse was a little too apologetic. He'd done nothing to offend her. Why was he acting like that? Strange. At least he seemed honest about the 'pleasure to meet you part'. So far, people have just said that to fulfill a polite social expectancy.
Moving off the streets wasn't such a bad idea. But a waste of time was a waste of time.
"A question first, Ichigo. Are you willing to do manual labor, or know anyone who might? If not, I have nothing else to say to you." Ah, Heilyn. Ever so blunt and straight-forward.

Apparently their deer friend was going to get a word in edge wise. Things never really did go as planned. The mouse shook his head, "I'm afraid that I'm not one for manual labor unless it's cooking and cleaning. I'm usually a bodyguard. Though I've never provided my services to anyone in the Capital."
He was talking too much for the coyote's liking. He could tell. She didn't seem to be the one for idle banter. No one's loss. "If I remember correctly there's a district not to far from here that specializes in moving heavy things and the like."
Was that good enough for the coyote? Would she leave after this quick exchange of words? She didn't seem to like like either of them very much. He sure as hell wasn't apologizing again, he would rather bleed himself for being rude than say sorry again.

Mephitisia, despite her attitude, was not offhandedly rude by nature. So the coyote had leapt into the conversation, obviously she had need for the mouse and Mephitisia was content to listen for now. With those chilling eyes narrowed coldly, she folded her arms and waited as the gray mouse and masked-dog bantered back and forth. Until, of course, a tingling thought rushed firmly through her head as if it'd been spoken aloud.
The deer doesn't need your help, unless you're a therapist.
There would be a noticeable change the moment it flashed through the Bog dweller's mind, and Mephit's once disinterested gaze swung roughly onto the girl. It was a look that Xylia had once complained made you feel like she was prying into her skull; perhaps that wasn't entirely off. Ichigo had made commentary toward her as well, she's caught every note of curiousity there to have, but it was all just that - curiousity. Polite curiousity. So far, she approved of the mouse, but the coyote had just made a fatal mistake. By default, Mephitisia trusted no one -it was safest that way after all- but she could make the occasional exception -or condemnation- thanks to the shining gift Ophelia had bought her all those years ago.
For a second she was torn between walking over to the canine to see just what might happen if she pulled loose one of those tubes and managing business matters with Ichigo. Business won out over the assault, mostly because business wouldn't linger if she was torturing someone but the canine might linger while she did business.
"Ichigo..." Her casual speaking voice was almost more disturbing than her previous bark of surprise. It was soft and icy, chilling one straight to the core. The affect was not helped by the fact that her words were tinted by malice and she stared hard at the she-dog as she spoke them. "I am Mephitisia, and your proposition might be one I'm interested in. I have interest in building my way up to the Courts, a bodyguard would be of great help to me in that back-stabbing world of politics and self-interested greed."
Not to say that she herself wasn't ranking because of self-interested greed. She wanted the room and finances to continue her experiments in proper and she wanted to rise up and prove to Serafino that she had been able to do it.

Something had very suddenly changed in the way the deer, Mephis-omething or another, acted. Not only that, but that anger seemed very much directed at her. However, things being as they were, she found the darkness in the other woman's aura almost a little homey. Heilyn vaguely wondered what caused the change, but waited for the pissed off, fanged deer to finish. She was probably bi-polar and very unstable, considering how quickly she had become angry, and unprovoked, too. There was nothing else here to hold her interest. the Raembler had no need for a body guard, as she could very much take care of herself, and no way in hell was she going to let someone she didn't know cook for her.
Granted, having a bleeding little honor-bound Mid-ranger would be more than helpful, but she would try her luck elsewhere. The district of people looking for work sounded nice, but hiring...
Oh, they were done talking. How nice.
"Well, then, thank you. I'll be going now. Good day." and she walked away. Yes, walking in the opposite direction of the deer meant she had to go the long way back to her storage space, but it was the wiser decision.
